This historical landmark in New Canaan, CT has been established as an Inn since 1925; the Inn was named after Roger Sherman whose niece, Martha Sherman, lived in the house from 1783 until 1806. Roger Sherman, a lawyer and delegate from Connecticut to the Continental Congress, had the distinction of being the only person to sign all four of these historical American documents: The Association, &c (1774), Declaration of Independence (1776), Articles of Confederation (1777), & The Constitution of the United States. In 2008, award-winning restaurateurs Nes & Joseph Jaffre became the owners of this elegant establishment and have transformed both the inside and the outside of the Inn. Recent renovations in 2012/2013 have given this historical landmark a modern, romantic feel while preserving the antique nature of the building. Come join us whether it's for a weekend getaway, cocktails at the bar, dining on our wrap around patio, an anniversary dinner, or a private party from 8 people to 180 people; our venue is perfect for all occasions!

Drove through the scenic town of New Canaan and decided to overnight in town, depending whether or not we could find an interesting place to stay. The Roger Sherman Inn was recommended to us by the Homestead Inn in Greenwich, when we were leaving there. We stopped by the Inn

This is got to be one of the best restaurants in the entire NY metro area if you want sophistication, great atmosphere and great food. Tonight we just go back from an outstanding dinner there. Gourmet food, great ambiance in a beautiful setting with music. Tonight they had a

My husband and I have been going to the RSI for many years particularly on special occasions. After the sale fell through last year we were sad to hear the doors might be closing. We loved them more often for the memories than the food. At the beginning of the year..Joseph and

Gracious staff; lovely dining room; bar area cozy and hopping! Our dinner experience not good - escargot had to be returned due to having zero flavor; two of the four dinners had to be sent back..my Dover sole was fishy and gray with a heavy and salty sauce. My friend’s sole was

Nice atmosphere with Christmas decorations and a fire pit blazing by the entrance, service was fine, but the food was uneven. French onion soup was good, but the combination of rubbery filet mignon and a dull steak knife was not good. My wife had the tuna, which she said was
