We had a total of 10 people, including our teen aged kids, and their aunts and uncles, and rented the entire house. It was so much fun. The innkeepers went out of their way to ensure our comfort and enjoyment, and the house was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We are going to make this our new traditiona! Better hurry...

Evan and Robert are the kindest, most welcoming innkeepers. There are no words for how delicious the 2 breakfasts were that we enjoyed. My daughter and I were visiting the area for potential grad school options and found this location to be fantastic for day trips up the coast and to wineries. Every single restaurant and area that Evan recommended...

House of 1833 was our first B&B experience on our honeymoon 10 years ago and they set the standard for B&Bs for us. Breakfast is always outstanding as Robert is excellent in the kitchen and he and Evan always make us feel part of the family. This was our 4th trip to New England in 10 years and our 4th...

After a bit of a shaky start we had a lovely time. Very interesting place, lovely building with lots of history. Evan and Robert are very good hosts. After an excellent nights sleep in a very comfy bed we had a lovely breakfast. Just one thing prevents me from giving full marks, the towels were very old and need replacing.

We have stayed at the House of 1833 many times now. My husband and I absolutely love it. The house itself is beautiful, the rooms have everything you need to hibernate for days if you would like but there are so many things to look at - the pictures, antiques and gardens and then there is the luscious breakfasts and...

This was my first visit to a B&B and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. Evan and Robert are the most gracious hosts. From the special touches to our room in celebration to their great knowledge of the area and history. Sunday pancake breakfast was the best !

Built in 1833 (surprise!), this home is filled with period pieces and details. I could have spent a week looking at the paintings, posters, and objects and still not exhaust this wonderful collection, many from Robert's own family. But this is not just a period piece. All amenities are available, and the hosts are eager to accommodate guests. We're a...

A lovely and unique B and B full of charm, warmth, and history. Evan could have not been friendlier and nicer. The grounds and rooms are lovely and everything about this home is very special. Robert knows how to cook and we REALLY enjoyed his breakfasts. My teenage son was hesitant on staying at a B and B and could...

A last minute decision to get away with the missus during a projected few days of perfect weather led me to consider House of 1833 on what appears to be the border of Old Mystic and Stonington. They had most of what I was looking for for this particular getaway. Proximity to Mystic Seaport. A romantic feel. A king bed....

Unique B&B. Over the top Victorian decorated Inn. A bit frayed. If dust and dogs are a problem for you, skip it. Quiet and away from hustle and bustle of downtown. Can ride bikes from Inn to town easily on River Rd. Pool area needs a little tlc but is clean. Had room with cool porch overlooking gardens. Excellent breakfast.
