Stayed in the chief engineers room. Comfy bed, clean and quiet. Awesome location. Pleasant breeze at night from the gazebo. Close to town and seaport. Not commercial. Enjoyed Claude's company along with his friend Fred. Beautiful hot tub! River view. Enjoyed watching the boats and trains go by. Rustic and cozy. Sad to leave - hope to return in the... More

The innkeeper, Claude, was waiting for us and greeted us as we got out of the car. He gave us a tour of the rooms, which were quaint and inviting. He is friendly and full of information about the town and life in general. Well worth the drive. We will return!

Claude the owner goes out of his way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. He supplied us with a map of the area and pointed out excellent venues for lunch and dinner. The breakfast and coffee that was served every morning were delicious. Sitting under the gazebo at night with an adult beverage talking with other guests made the... More

Agree with other reviews that say this place needs a good overhaul. Our room was on the small side, but the bathroom was miniscule. The sink was like a boat sink - very tiny and didn't drain well. The shower was not especially clean with a wooden sill that needed improvement and rusting bolts. There was lint on the lamp... More

This rustic inn exceeded our expectations for our mini-vacation to kayak the Mystic seaport. The only downside was our limited time. Upon arrival and ringing the doorbell, we were promptly greeted by Claude the innkeeper, who gave us a tour of the inn including, to our surprise, a six-person hot tub, beautiful gazebo next to the water, and an on... Thank goodness we only booked 1 night. Didn't sleep well because of how dirty it was. In the bedroom there was dust and lint on the small area rug--dust and a small bottle of something on the floor. Bedding had stains on 1 of the pillow cases and the sheets were so old they had pilling on the fabric. Look... More

Delightful cosy cottage with strong nautical theme; spotlessly clean and friendly helpful owner. No problem with parking and free wifi. Breakfast basic (cooked - we had good ham omlette and toast) but perfectly adequate. Excellent value (seemed very cheap by UK standards). Short walk to the main village with a superb restaurant by the draw bridge. We were on a... More

Highly recommended pet-friendly waterfront inn in Mystic. Our family has stayed here several years in a row and we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. Claude, the innkeeper, is a wonderful kind-hearted person who will make you feel at home. Claude's omelets and pancakes make for a great breakfast. Watch the sunset with a glass of wine in the comfortable gazebo... More

This was my second time visiting the location and I was just as enamored with it as I was the first time. There were subtle changes but it remains this great cozy, peaceful, and friendly space to really escape the city and enjoy time.
