Love Foxwoods and Grand Pequot Tower just left after a 2 day visit. All went well with room cleanliness, view etc. However, first night of our stay we were on 16th floor and after going to bed for night around 1:00am was woken up by a very strange sound in hallway it was like none I ever heard before. Sounded like a (Banshee) would go from one length of hallway to other end and would increasingly get louder as it passed room. I tried to peak out thru peep hole in door but could not see anything. I did not want to open door as it was very scary. I was tempted to call front desk but didn't know how to explain. We were not near elevators etc. This went on for two hours. The next day we went to pool and when we came back to our room the person next door to ours was entering his room he stopped asn asked if we had heard this weird noise. I told him yes. He said it woke him up. Very Scary and haunting.…
Great hotel room. Big, roomy, Very clean. Big bathroom. Fridge in room. Couch and table in room. Can't go on deck but nice view. Elevator goes directly to casino. Can choose slot or table side of hotel. Very friendly staff. One downfall, in my opinion, no counter or sink outside of bathroom so only one person can get ready. Would be better if one could do hair/makeup/brush teeth while other person is showering. Set up not ideal if you had a wedding etc. One person has to be ready an hour earlier and just "wait" around. However, that's a small negative -- overall Would definitely go again.
We stayed at the Grand Pequot on a recent trip to Foxwoods. We were happy to see housekeeping coming back into the rooms during your stay which had gone away during the pandemic. The housekeeping staff was slow (they were in our room for 2 hours making it up during our stay), but they did a very good job, even vacuuming the floors. The room itself was clean, but it definitely is time for the rooms to be refurbished. Everything inside is showing years of heavy wear and tear. The beds, though, were surprisingly comfortable and I think the pillows were some of the best I've seen at a hotel. One of the biggest disappointments was the pool hours. The pool is only open for kids from 8-1, and then only 2-6 for adults. I'm not sure why the pools couldn't be kept open longer, or open again after 6 for families. The pool facility is very nice, so it's a shame that it isn't open longer. I am not sure we will come back. As I said, we used to go quite frequently, but the increasing of prices and the cutting back of amenities for families makes it a less favorable destination. At a lower price, I would have given a higher rating, but for what they charge, it is a letdown.…
After booking an expensive room 3 months in advance, the room we were given was in need of a major update plan. The old, dark furniture was chipped in place - the upholstered chair was filthy and the bathroom had not been updated since the place opened. VERY disappointing.
After reading reviews, I had some concerns about an upcoming stay at the Pequot Tower. However, we (2 adults, 1 child) had a pleasant stay. Check-in was easy, our room was clean and the beds comfortable. The storage units - closet, fridge - were a bit worn, but we appreciated the ample storage spaces. We didn’t request daily service, but easily got fresh towels from housekeeping. Dinner at Hard Rock, Juniors, Sugar, and CPK was good. If in the area, we would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I asked for a non-smoking room. The room we had smelled of smoke and there were burn holes in the carpet. The bathroom counters were dirty, trash on floor, and the couch was very stained. I refused to sit on it. We usually visit twice a year, but won’t be going back. Most stores and restaurants were closed!
When I made the reservation, I selected a non smoking room. When I checked in, I was informed no non-smoking rooms were available. To no avail, the only option I had was a smoking room. Disgusting. With the price of the room you would expect it cleaned properly and/or have enough non-smoking rooms to go around. Even the hallway smell disgusting. Really disappointing that in today’s day and age where most people do not smoke, there would be enough non-smoking rooms. Even hotels in Las Vegas have figured this out. Never staying here again. I will spend 1/2 the amount and stay at a nearby hotel and take the free shuttle. Step it up Foxwoods!!
We requested a non smoking room. Check in is at 4, we arrived at 6. We were told since it was a very late check in, there were no non smoking rooms available. Apparently when you choose a non smoking room, it is “a preference “ but not guaranteed. That’s ridiculous!!! The second you step out of the elevator, the smell is horrible. They offered an ozone machine. We needed to leave the room for at least an hour. When we returned, It didn’t work… We were forced to smell cancer causing cigarettes for an entire night with our children. Not fun when you have allergies. With all that is known about cigarettes, why is it even being offered as an option to smoke in your room?? In essence, we paid $477 with taxes and fees to stay in a smelly, dingy room for one night. We had a horrible sleep because we couldn’t breathe, my eyes were red and burning, the beds were hard and pillows were even harder. If someone books a room, especially with children, they should make sure that you have the non smoking room that you reserved. That isn’t a “preference “ it is a requirement for our health and well being. We will not be returning. We were very disappointed!…
