This historic home was quite cozy and Mia was an outstanding host. Breakfast was delicious and Mia made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed our conversations with the other guests. It was a perfect place to stay for UCONN family weekend.

We had our wedding at the Fitch House. My husband and I, and both sets of our parents stayed at the Fitch House from Friday until Sunday. Our wedding guests loved the inn and have continued to tell us how much they loved the place. Mia is an excellent host--she put in a great deal of effort to help us coordinate our event. Her homemade, locally sourced breakfasts were a highlight of the stay for our families, as was the lovely Fitch House itself. Getting to spend time in such a beautifully kept historic residence was such a joy. I highly recommend the Fitch House as a B&B as well as an event space.

Feeling grounded & restored after a weekend of yoga, healthy, locally-sourced food, cooking classes and wonderful company. A beautiful inn with comfortable accommodations and charming decor and a host & hostess that exude warmth! Will find my way back to this historic, magical gem of a place!

My adult daughter and I attended a wonderful yoga weekend retreat last month in this gorgeous historic setting, with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces where the events of the retreat moved seamlessly throughout the weekend. The yoga classes geared to all levels of practice, the cooking classes, dharma talks over tea, and a guided nature walk, were terrific, well planned by Mia and her co-teacher Sushma, and assisted by their delightful husbands as well as a speaker on Ayurvedic practice who presented. The other benefit of the weekend was staying in the great accommodations and having delicious, healthy meals in addition to their usual yummy breakfasts. The B&B is spotless, comfortable, quaint but fully convenient; and our room would get picked up and little treats left on the bureau without us being aware of when that happened. There is a fridge for guests in a central area as well as water, coffee and tea always available. I think Mia is continually adding touches to the rooms because some rooms look even better than the pictures on the website. Mia and Glenn are wonderful hosts, warm and knowledgeable, and very attentive to guests. I would recommend them highly, and will watch for future special events that might bring me back for another getaway weekend.

My husband and I stayed here at the recommendation of friends of ours. We desperately needed a weekend to just relax and have basically zero stress. Well, the Fitch House fit the bill! We arrived there around 11:45 pm due to work, and the owner Mia met us outside and greeted us with a smile and kind words. She even gave us a mini tour despite the late hour and made sure we were settled. We stayed in the Golding room, which was spacious and had beautiful antique style furniture/decor. WiFi was very easy to set up and the bed was beautifully made and comfy! She has a glass container with water and also leaves a little treat. She tidied the room midday, which I was not expecting and was wonderful! Breakfast was delicious and freshly made both days. Mia uses ingredients from around the area and also some that she cultivated- there was real bacon, delicious breads and homemade jams, and the main courses each day were egg dishes. She included veggies in both and was wonderful. We were filled up until dinnertime both days! Mia will inquire about food allergies too. The house itself is beautiful and there are gems you will want to explore on the first floor. The bibliophile in me went nuts over all the books in the library (all different genres), and they will build a fire either in the sitting room or your own room. Mia has loads of information about the area, and if you are there on certain days she teaches yoga classes in the sun room. She is very friendly and we had great conversations with her! We will definitely be returning and recommend this B & B to anyone who needs a restful vacation. It is only a few minutes from UCONN, so it is a perfect spot for anyone who needs access to the school.
