Tidewater Inn is a low-key, homelike, no-pressure BnB, ideally located for shoreline attractions, though not on the shore itself. Breakfasts are bounteous (cereal, fruit, a fresh-baked offering, and a savory or sweet main course) and there's a Keurig and muffins for early risers. Beach passes are provided, a big plus, and Victoria knows the area very well. Like Thomas A... More

Tidewater Inn was nice. As others have said, a BnB can feel like "your grandma's house but your grandma isn't home". But Tidewater didn't strike me like that. The owner (Victoria) was nice and also unobtrusive. She will make you a breakfast you may or may not like (spinach quiche looking dish with sausage and home fries) but under no... More

We just came home after spending 4 nights at the Tidewater Inn. We stayed in the Madison Room which is large, airy and very comfortable. The breakfasts that Victoria our innkeeper served were nothing short of fabulous. I have been to many hotels and bed and breakfasts over the years and Tidewater Inn is my new favorite. If you are... This was more like staying in someone's home than a B&B. There were stacks of stuff stashed down halls, and everything had that lived in look, for sure. Our major complaint was, despite the fact that the inn info said A/C would be provided May - October, there was none. And it was warm - too warm to sleep comfortably.... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Yes, we are an authentic New England B&B and nothing like a hotel. Your comments will help future guests in their decision to stay with us or not, as they prefer. Our new dining room is nearly complete but still a work in progress during your visit. Alas, upgrades take... More

Bed and breakfasts seem to fall into one of two categories: (A) clutter-free, with posh hotel amenities, in remarkable buildings that have been expensively restored to their former grandeur vs. (B) doily-laden and creaky, with a hodgepodge of furnishings. The Tidewater Inn is in category B. Pros: the innkeeper is wonderfully friendly and hospitable. The bathroom was clean, with a... More

This was a charming, cozy inn. Our room was lovely, complete with working fireplace. Wine and cheese were offered in the parlor every evening. There were roses in our room and chocolate covered strawberries as we left. The breakfasts were delicious. There was cofee and tea available at all times. We has a lovely time

Just spent the weekend at the Tidewater on a Living Social deal. Such a wonderful time! The room was fantastic with a WORKING wood burning fireplace! Delicious hand dipped chocolate strawberries and a dozen roses waiting for us in the room! The innkeeper, Victoria, was a treat! My fiancee and I stayed one night at the Inn as we were in the area for a job interview. The Tidewater Inn is an old-fashioned, cozy, inviting inn. We were there for two nights just before Christmas. A beautiful tree was up with a fun game to try to find certain ornaments amidst the myriad of loved and special ones that covered the tree. Wine was served in front of a fire in the dining room. Chocolates filled bowls... More

We recently spent two nights in the Madison suite, which we highly recommend. Lots of lovely details like monogrammed sheets, a Tidewater Inn brochure in the room, and innkeeper's "Happy Hour" each evening.
