Nicest, most comfortable New England inn I've ever stayed at. Not cheap but worth it. My room was spacious, the bed a bit soft for me but comfortable. There are all sorts of niches and outside tables for guests to have breakfast or coffee or work. I love the colorful, unusual decor. A friendly, knowledgeable young woman was available almost all the time to answer questions about things to do in Madison. Breakfast included scones, packaged oatmeal, a wide array of yoghurt and drinks. I'm hoping to have a family gathering here soon.

This amazing bed and breakfast was the perfect best friend getaway! The charm, attention to detail, hospitality and generosity that we experienced in the 3 days we were there far exceeded any bed and breakfast that I've stayed in before. Upon entering it was clear that this B&B was more than prepared with all necessary Covid precautions (antimicrobial tape on all high traffic areas, hand sanitizer, phone/keys sanitizer, masks, not entering rooms unless for cleaning purposes, etc). Anything we asked for during this time was accommodated (music outside, bikes, ice, restaurant recommendations, and more!). Each morning there was a delicious "To Go" breakfast (this was an accommodation due to the current pandemic) with a treat from the local bakery. The owner and all staff were extremely hospitable and even offered to select our preferred music in order to pull out vinyls for the record player in our room! We couldn't help but to take moments to appreciate the attention to detail and the thought put into the decor. This quaint bed and breakfast is within walking (or biking) distance to local beaches, restaurants, and just a quick drive to lots of local shops! I would most definitely stay in this beautiful home again...hopefully very soon!

Very pleasant stay at the Homestead which has gone to great lengths to ensure cleanliness during COVID. They have ventilation and air purifiers as well as device sanitizers. The staff is super friendly and the owner came by to welcome us when we arrived. Our room had a fridge and looked really modern; it also had a nice outside door where the Homestead places comfortable Adirondack chairs to take in the nice side yard of the B&B. They offer complimentary bikes and the location is a short ride to the beach.

We looked forward to returning to the charming Homestead that we had fallen in love with during our visit last summer. A few relaxing days at this peaceful place seemed like a much needed get away after being quarantined at home for several months. While anticipating that it might be a somewhat different experience in response to the Covid crisis, we quickly found ourselves enveloped in the same warmth and grace that Ralph, Damaris & Pat so effortlessly exude, and which are so much a part of the joy of our stay.
The inn itself is beautiful, immaculate and includes all of the amenities that you'd expect from a boutique hotel. Great thought has been put into providing top of the line Covid safety precautions. Hand sanitizer & masks are provided, as you might expect, but the next level protections are unobtrusively present, such as antimicrobial tape on banisters and door knobs, air purifiers in each room, thoughtfully planned individual breakfast boxes and separate staircases for going up and down. It's clear that they take it seriously, but it's done in a good natured manner.
Madison itself is as lovely as we remembered it, with its quaint shops, wonderful restaurants and beautiful beaches all close by. The Homestead also provides bikes for anyone who chooses to enjoy a nice ride. The warm staff happily provide tried and true recommendations for entertaining and interesting places to visit in Madison and its surrounding areas. There's something for everyone that will ensure that each person will have a wonderful stay!
Our return to the Homestead provided us with a much needed respite and confirmed its place in our hearts! We're already looking forward to our next visit.

The Homestead earned a repeat visit from me and my pup which is a capsule review alone. My visits have been before and after the arrival of Covid and we all know nothing is unchanged. The Homestead has solid protocols for hygiene that you can see (sanitizers for hands, phones, whimsical reminders for social distancing and mask wearing) and upgrades to HVAC and filtration that you don’t. The team is always friendly and welcoming and happy to share recommendations for what to see, do and eat in the area. They take hospitality very seriously and we appreciate the care.

The location is pretty perfect for beach going, shopping, dining, hiking and The Homestead itself has lots of nooks in and out to kick back with a book. Perfect for a getaway that will feel like you have traveled much further than you may have if you are a NYC or Boston person. Will definitely go back.

What an amazing review, we thank you so much! Yes, as you stated, things have had to adapt because of Covid. However, we certainly try our best to only add to our guest's visits and not take away any of the amazing hospitality and comfortable welcoming atmosphere. Being here in Madison, it is incredibly convenient to take the train or hop on I-95 and be in New York or Boston in no time! We are so glad that you took advantage of our stellar location. Additionally, we are flattered by all of your kind sentiments and sincerely appreciate that you have taken the time to acknowledge the kindness and hard work of the team here at The Homestead. Thank you for your continued visits! We hope that you will think of us again during your next getaway out of the city. Looking forward to seeing you and the pup again very soon.

I rented out the Inn for my entire family to stay for a local wedding. The accommodations are superb. Cleanliness and attention to disinfection for Covid precautions is above and beyond what I have seen anywhere, UV lights to disinfect phones, UV air purifiers, etc. The Owner Ralph is extremely personable and his team pays attention to every detail, you feel very at home while at the Inn. Each room is beautifully decorated with personal refrigerators and record players! The bathrooms are very elegant and very large (each room has their own) The box breakfast is fine during Covid and they serve beverages to you throughout the day. At least three rooms have private entrances and patios. There are two gas fire pits with wonderful chairs and umbrellas. We even took the bikes our for a spin that the Inn provides, I highly recommend this Inn whether you have a whole family or just a couple!

We booked The Homestead B&B somewhat last minute after plans for a stay elsewhere fell through due to Covid19 restrictions. We were looking for a quaint, charming place to stay on our weekend getaway celebrating our anniversary. The Homestead was the perfect home away from home and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The staff was delightful - everyone we came into contact with was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Because our plans changed last minute, we were not able to fully plan an itinerary (e.g., daily outings, dinner reservations, etc.); however, the staff had several suggestions for us and also helped with details such as making reservations. The room we stayed in (#15) was lovely. The bed was cozy and the fireplace and record player in the room were beautiful, unique touches that made the stay that much more memorable. We also felt very safe given all of the covid19 precautions taken and measures the owner has in place for sanitization/social distancing. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and definitely hope to be back in the future!

Attention to detail and quiet luxury describe this lovely, immaculate inn. The gracious hospitality, soothing paint colors, and tasteful furnishings made our visit memorable. This inn ranks among the best of all B&Bs my husband and I have stayed in our 30+ years of lodging at B&Bs throughout New England.

We appreciated the super-soft bedding and thick linens. In addition to comfort and beauty, the owners made sure practical items are available such as plenty of hooks and a nightlight in the bathroom, 2 luggage racks instead of 1, a wine opener, and an optional weighted blanket.

There are plenty of places to lounge outside your room: rockers on the shaded front porch where I enjoyed bird-watching at the nearby feeder, and a back porch, both with fire pits. The sun room has an extensive collection of vinyl LPs (I chose The Beatles and Bach), old cameras, and other interesting vintage finds. In the living room, there's a piano, banjo, and guitar if you're musically talented.

A wide selection of tea is available (I enjoyed the lavender mint in the evening) as well as coffee and a refillable water station. The breakfast fare of yogurt, fruit, scones, and muffins were just right. Snacks of pretzels and granola bars were perfect for the beach which is a convenient 2-minute drive away.

The staff was helpful, professional, and pleasant. I highly recommend staying at The Homestead for a couples getaway, small gathering, or personal retreat.

Good Morning Joyce! What an absolutely amazing review to read on a gloomy Monday morning! Your thoughts really speak to the heart of everything we strive for here at The Homestead. We certainly, try to create a place where we would love to stay for a getaway. A place where our guest's needs are taken care of before they even know they have a need. To know that you think of us as one of the best is so humbling. We hope that you are able to visit with us again Joyce. It was a pleasure to host you and your husband! We wish you a wonderful Summer!

From the moment we drove up the majestic driveway we could feel the stress and tension from life, work, and covid meltaway. Ralph, the Innkeeper met us in the driveway (mask on) and assisted us with our luggage. We were given a tour of the stately home decorated with antique cameras and vintage record players and albums. The Homestead has a warmth and ambiance with soft lighting that makes anyone look good. The rooms are large with like a zillion thread count sheets and extremely comfortable mattresses. The shower even has a shower head with infused zen-like pixie dust raining down on you. Relaxing and chatting in front of the fireplace was a favorite way to spend the evenings. Musical instruments, including piano, were available to enjoy as well. In a nutshell, I highly recommend The Homestead if you are looking for unsurpassed hospitality and a place to put your feet up for a while and head home feeling like a million bucks!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a small getaway and couldn’t be more happier than the homestead. Ralph (owner) and the crew are absolutely wonderful in not only keeping up with Covid standards but far exceeding them. They really make sure safety and health is first priority. Hand sanitizer readily available and using uvc wands for extra precaution. Due to Covid restrictions, we didn’t get the grand breakfast but they did give us a treat box which was a nice touch and access to a private beach and bike rentals were a major plus. Every accommodation was met and we couldn’t have been happier. We will be back!
