This is a really nice place to get away for a weekend. The hotel rooms are very spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony. Breakfast was included and left at our door in the mornings. It was great to be able to walk along the beach and sit and enjoy the views.
Exceptionally nice hotel right on the Connecticut shoreline. Luxurious room furnished with high quality furniture. Sliding floor-to-ceiling wood-slat blinds open to a private balcony, with chairs and side table, overlooking the beach in front of the hotel and Long Island Sound. Extremely quiet and private; we heard absolutely no noise from the occupied rooms next to us. Small fridge, Keurig and supplies, iron all provided. Effective, easily controlled climate control (it did tick a bit when cooling down but not enough to wake us). Excellent, comfortable beds, we slept very well. Elegant, spacious, well-appointed bathroom. Everything was as clean as the day it was new. The only nit I have to offer: shower water was so hot that it was hard to turn the temperature down far enough. There was very little difference between "comfortable" and "off". The on-site Wharf Restaurant was very busy during our stay, so we ate every meal elsewhere at one of the many good nearby restaurants (we especially enjoyed breakfast at Cristy's Madison Restaurant, just a few steps from the hotel, home of the biggest pancakes we ever saw). There is a small sandy beach and also rock outcrops with tidepools with tiny fish and crabs, which fascinated our daughter. This hotel is an excellent choice for a special occasion getaway.…
We chose this hotel as a halfway point to meet friends from another state. All of us are experienced travelers and all of us were struck by the warmth of every last one of the staff we met during our two night stay. There was a helpfulness, a willingness to please, and what we felt were a group of the most genuine and pleasant people we ever encountered, given that it was ALL of them. Our rooms on fourth and second floors, faced Long Island Sound and were well appointed and comfortable. Outside was the beach, and sound of the waves to lull us to sleep. Breakfast was Continental with fresh fruit , breads ,pastries and yogurt. And real scrambled eggs.
The Madison Beach Hotel is THE place to stay in the area! My husband and I were so delighted from check in to check out! Diana, Rebecca, and Matthew at the Front Desk were so friendly and accommodating! Abby in Guest relations was an absolute treat. Jason the Maitre’d and staff at The Wharf restaurant are top notch! Even Marco and the staff in Valet Parking made our trip extra special. There is no downside to this establishment. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable, not to mention the spectacular views!!! Thanks to John the General Manager and his excellent team for making the Madison Beach Hotel our home away from home!
hotel staff couldn’t be more accommodating it was a surprise birthday weekend everyone was in on it ..from the minute we stepped in front door staff was fabulous… two dinners in a row ar restaurant..spent time in the spa everything was fantastic! thank you!
This is one of those hotels that curiosity had gotten the better of me so I just had to stay here. We are HH members so was able to use points for a portion of the rate. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The positives are the staff who are very attentive. We were upgraded from a shore-line view to, I imagine, an ocean front view. I can't compare because we only saw the views from the room we stayed in. Because this hotel is so very expensive, I know we will not return. It was pleasant enough and the location is great, but it's just not worth the price. Was very disappointed with the breakfast basket which consisted of fruit, a slice of banana bread, a corn muffin and a small OJ. I understand the concept of a breakfast basket, but for a 4 star hotel, I just think it should have been better. Perhaps boiled eggs, different yogurts, pastries and perhaps a different muffin each day. At the Wharf Restaurant, I was pretty much told I was mistaken when I told them there was no egg in my Laos fried rice, which was quite tasty by the way (even without the egg). The waitress said she believed me, but the waiter who came over to our table (Maitre d'?) with the runny egg pretty much told me in so many words that I couldn't possibly know whether or not there was an egg in my rice. His first words were "I understand you would like an extra egg for your rice". I told him it wasn't an extra egg but that the first egg had not been added. He was sure my rice had the egg. How could he possibly know that for a certainty? I guess it's impossible that the Chef/Cook would never, God forbid, be guilty of an oversight and forget the egg. So, this was the take away -- you don't know what you are eating, there is an egg even if you don't see it or taste it. That entire experience was weird, to say the least. The professional approach would be to apologize, bring the egg (fully cooked and not sunny side up) and leave it at that. The hotel has a friendly staff who made an effort to make our stay enjoyable, but it's just not worth the money they are asking for this hotel - even if it is right on the Sound. Most of the wait staff at The Wharf are professional and courteous. We also had lunch there one afternoon and the New England clam chowder is awesome. If you are just curious like I was, stay for one night; you may find that's quite enough. And unless you have $600 a night to drop in the warmer months, you had better go now.…
This review has been deleted from Google reviews...I booked the ADA compliant room…but I’m not sure why Hilton feels that folks with a disability deserve no privacy. Our room seems to be the only one where our balcony is not cordoned off and leads to STAIRS to the beach for people from the bar. Drunk folks were outside at 11-12 PM smoking and looking into our room. We have to keep the shutters closed and at that point what’s the point of getting the oceanfront room? Also, why would you take away an ADA room’s balcony to put stairs and no ramp?? Really disappointed that Hilton would treat folks needing a handicapped room as less than their normal guests. People with disabilities need privacy, too. Also, a lot of guests have now seen my husband’s Butt. That’s on you, Hilton.
Sadly we only spent one night at this beautiful property. We’re Hilton Diamond members and were treated to an oceanfront upgrade. Our room was gorgeous, immaculate and cozy. The staff is exceptional and clearly well trained, making guests feel welcome and appreciated. We had lunch and dinner at The Wharf. Both meals were truly outstanding, particularly the service. We can’t wait to return.
We were so pleased and impressed with this lovely gem of a hotel. We were greeted by a wonderful bell team and check in was friendly and seamless. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with views that were breathtaking. We didn’t leave the hotel and enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Martha, our server and Jason, the manager took excellent care of us. Check out was easy with Matt assisting us. We were sad to leave but look forward to another visit!
This hotel is beautiful with a gorgeous view of the Sound. Super clean. Staff well-trained and very friendly! Only had drinks and dessert but they were to-die-for, especially the Chocolate-espresso mousse!
