This hotel is very well maintained with friendly and responsive staff. The onsite restaurant was very good, and we overall enjoyed our visit for the weekend. Only slight minor complaint is breakfast buffet could be better, but otherwise, this hotel is a nice place to stay for a special occasion. Nearby town, such as Guilford, has some places to visit. The ocean views are lovely. Room was large and very quiet in the hallways etc even with a blues music show being performed on another floor in the building the weekend we went.
Exceptionally nice hotel right on the Connecticut shoreline. Luxurious room furnished with high quality furniture. Sliding floor-to-ceiling wood-slat blinds open to a private balcony, with chairs and side table, overlooking the beach in front of the hotel and Long Island Sound. Extremely quiet and private; we heard absolutely no noise from the occupied rooms next to us. Small fridge, Keurig and supplies, iron all provided. Effective, easily controlled climate control (it did tick a bit when cooling down but not enough to wake us). Excellent, comfortable beds, we slept very well. Elegant, spacious, well-appointed bathroom. Everything was as clean as the day it was new. The only nit I have to offer: shower water was so hot that it was hard to turn the temperature down far enough. There was very little difference between "comfortable" and "off". The on-site Wharf Restaurant was very busy during our stay, so we ate every meal elsewhere at one of the many good nearby restaurants (we especially enjoyed breakfast at Cristy's Madison Restaurant, just a few steps from the hotel, home of the biggest pancakes we ever saw). There is a small sandy beach and also rock outcrops with tidepools with tiny fish and crabs, which fascinated our daughter. This hotel is an excellent choice for a special occasion getaway.…
My family and I held a celebration of life for my father at the Madison Beach Hotel this past Sunday. I must say they did not disappoint. Our event was fabulous!! We received glowing feedback from our guests. Our family and friends really enjoyed the beautiful beachfront setting, delicious food and the impeccable service. Madeline, Donna, Lisa, Chef Brian, Owen, Val and her daughter as well as the rest of the food and beverage team exemplified outstanding hospitality. I cannot thank them enough for putting forth such a great deal of effort in making our event a very special and memorable one.
We live in CO but are from the east coast. What a great little beach getaway during a trip home to NY to visit. Reminded us what being near water is like. Haha. Rooms are lovely, ours was facing the water which was spectacular. Balconies are great and 4 people can comfortably sit and hang out on them (if your visiting with another couple). Really a nice place.
WOW, this hotel is absolutely perfect! The hotel is spotless, the rooms are gorgeous and the views are priceless. Everyone was so friendly and kind and professional. We had the pleasure of speaking to Rebecca and Laurie at the front desk, they offered suggestions of things to do, places to see and a little history about the hotel. Grace and Carmella were two more fabulous women who took our dinner reservations and sat us at a table with a lovely view. Our servers Michelle and Kevin were fantastic! The food was delicious! Mike hosted a fun filled mixology class and Lisa hosted another fun event with wine tastings and appetizers. We had a wonderful time! The only small negative was the continental breakfast......not so tasty. We will be back again! Thank you for a memorable and flawless getaway!…
Reminiscent of Newport, RI, this top notch hotel is extremely well-run with excellent customer service. Came here with a friend for a spa birthday overnight getaway. The front desk patiently figured out the spa/stay/dine rate that I had booked. The spa experience was lovely, and the dining/drinks were delish. Hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays!
Location is beautiful and the bay is really calming. The beach is very small, I wonder how it is during peak summer months. There is only 1 restaurant but it was great. Skip the breakfast buffet at the hotel, it was meager ($20 pp); try Cristy's down the road, walkable and huge breakfast menu. I'm sure there are other places around you can drive to. We were lucky to get a room with a view and balcony, that made the trip for us. I am Hilton Diamond member, there is no executive lounge and the hotel was fully booked at the time so no upgraded room (although our room was great anyway). I returned feeling relaxed and refreshed and recommending this place to my friends and family in NJ/NY who are looking for a getaway without having to go to the Hamptons.
This is a wonderful place for a quick getaway. Everything was perfect. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful. The food is very good as well as the bar. The location and rooms are really beautiful.I couldn’t ask for any better.
The most perfect way to celebrate our birthdays but with a girls overnight stay & spa at Madison Beach Hotel! It is the cutest town, the most perfect location and the hotel is absolutely charming! So very "New England". We were very lucky that we had 70+ degree weather in November so we were able to take advantage of a walk down by the water & drinks at sunset on the outside patio. Our room faced the LI Sound and our terrace was the perfect place to enjoy some wine & chit chat. The spa was small but special. They made it so nice for us from the very first phone call I made to book our treatments. We both did massage & facial -- which were wonderful! Caity & Ella were the girls that took care of us and made it so amazing. They are so great at what they do! I would highly recommend asking for them. The restaurant was delicious, service was not the best but we were in no rush so the waiting game just left more time for conversation. It was a well worthwhile stay and I would definetly come back again! …
From the moment I was greeted by Erick who graciously & efficiently checked me in to the lovely dinner I had on the back heated deck overlooking the beach to the clean, comfortable king size bed, my stay was exactly what I needed. The views from my room and balcony of the sound were stunning.
