Nice location- quiet and directly on the water in an upscale beach neighborhood . Don't get the $20 fee for parking your own car, BUT it is their little money maker- so whatever. Bar and Restuarant were fine and staff was friendly. As for the room- ditch the sled frame and get something sleeker (modern), so you can at least SEE the fireplace from your bed. And I have NOT seen a TV that small in a U.S. hotel room in over 10 years... Hello- it's 2021- time for the upgrade. Room was clean and deck is a nice feature, just suprised there was NO hairdryer in the room. Covid safety regulations were clearly marked (much appreciated).
Came here for a few days of quiet and relaxation from the hustle and bustle of work life. Madison does not disappoint. The hotel is clean, updated, has wonderful staff, an amazing restaurant...and most importantly WONDERFUL views of the beach and LI Sound shore right off our balcony. This is a great romantic stay, solo stay or “want to explore this town” stay. All covid rules were enforced and we felt very safe here.
My wife and I stayed for two nights on a Sunday & Monday in mid-December, during COVID. They have all the right precautions and it didn’t dampen our experience at all. We were instantly in love with the place. The exterior and interior were tastefully decorated for Christmas, including a small, lit Christmas tree outdoors on the beach. Without going into every detail, here’s what you need to know. Staff: The place is expertly managed and staffed. Every single interaction with staff was great, from the front desk to the bartenders and wait staff to housekeeping. They were all delightful, attentive, and caring. Special shout-outs to Maria, Abby, Brian, Holly, Kim. Outside: The building is lovely and looks like the quintessential New England beachfront resort. The building is only around 10 years old and well-maintained. This is a grand-looking but small (only about 35 rooms) hotel. There is a smallish sandy beach at low tide and some rocks you can walk out on. There’s also a lawn with some chairs and fire pits, and more beach to the south which you can walk on. Wonderful views from just about anywhere inside and outside of the hotel. The place faces south so you can see the sunrise AND the sunset over the water. Inside: Very classy, “casual elegance” as they say. Easy to get around because it’s small so we never waited long for an elevator and if we had to run up to our room it took only a couple minutes to go up and back. Again, very nicely maintained. The room was perfect for two people with a king bed, electric fireplace which did add a bit of ambience not to mention warmth. Nicely appointed and everything was lovely and in good repair. Very nice balcony overlooking the beach and the water. We loved everything about it but wished there was a small microwave in the room just to reheat our coffees. No big deal. Dining: We ate in the Wharf restaurant 5 times in a two-night stay. It is that good - great quality service, cocktails, food, and view. Lovely and varied menu, plenty of healthy options, I would say something for everyone. We tried new things at every meal. The bartenders made us really tasty cocktails over and over again. (We had our share of cocktails during our visit!) Parking: Easy, there is a small lot right across the street. But it’s $20 per night. Nearby: There is a strip of shops and restaurants in town, just a couple minutes away by car. We didn’t get a chance to walk around much. Summary: We love, love, love this hotel and will be back as soon as we can! They’re doing everything right. Can’t beat the hospitality, food, drinks, location, decor and so much more. …
My daughter and I stayed at the lovely Madison Beach Hotel for 2 nights over Thanksgiving. The view from our room was as hoped and more....just spectacular as was the sunset and sunrise. Sublime. The staff were wonderful and welcoming. The food was spectacular, particularly the Thanksgiving dinner. The Menu was varied - we had 4 amazing courses - excellent value - and exceeded my expectations. I have eaten in Michelin star restaurants, and the Rack of Lamb I chose - was the best I have ever had in my world travels....just sublime. My daughter chose the traditional Turkey - which was beautifully presented and incredibly moist..the seasonal vegetables were also amazing. Just a perfect Thanksgiving treat. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Room was beautiful, but about an hour after we left the hotel the next day, we remembered we'd left an unopened bottle of wine & an unopened package of cheese in the mini fridge. We called & they explained that likely no one had been up yet to clean it & they would pack those items up for us (we were right down the street at that point). When we got there they said they had to throw out items that are perishable. Both these items were unopened and we hadn't been gone more than two hours. I hope the staff enjoyed my birthday wine & cheese!
