This is the second time staying at the Litchfield Inn, and it won't be our last. The staff, accommodations and property are first-class. I especially want to thank Valerie in the dining area, who is so wonderful and truly makes you look forward to seeing her at breakfast. We had an early morning flight, and she offered to pack us a bagel or muffin to take with us. She is truly an outstanding employee and very nice person. We look forward to coming back soon.
My wife and I were looking for a quick and quiet getaway not too far from NYC for one night and were really glad we found Litchfield Inn. We were in the Cloud Nine room which was cozy, comfortable and modern. The room was very relaxing including the jacuzzi. There was a good quietness throughout the hotel while in our room, walking in the halls or in the lobby. Good amenities included with the free breakfast with good options and space, snacks and the gym. If in the area again, we'd be happy to stay at Litchfield Inn again and explore some of the other room motifs.
This property was an absolutely perfect spot for a getaway with my girlfriends. The grounds are just beautiful. I will definitely come back and I would highly recommend for a relaxing or romantic weekend with your spouse. Although the restaurant is currently closed and only serving breakfast which was amazing there are plenty of options close by. Also the new “Gathering Room” which was just finished is a great space for guests to hang out on while enjoying the gardens and firepits.
The Litchfield inn is a luxurious treat! The staff could not be more accommodating. They are there to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The room is comfortable and well- appointed. We loved the breakfast and common areas.
I am so thankful to the Litchfield Inn for hosting me and my family members for a wonderful four-day weekend. They answered all of my outreach in advance and went out of their way to help surprise our birthday boy with their own treats and decorations. The breakfast by Valerie each morning was so delicious, I really missed it this morning having just returned from our great trip. Every person with whom we interacted was warm, and welcoming, and very accommodating. The rooms and grounds are maintained beautifully, and our living space couldn't have been kept any cleaner or tidier. We hope to return again, we are officially fans! Thank you, Litchfield Inn for a GREAT weekend!
Very nice hotel, the staff and the owner always make sure you have the best experience. 15 mins drive from ski slopes. I definitely recommend if you’re in the area. The bespoke rooms are classily done and the free breakfast is a huge plus when traveling with family.
I understand from the other reviews that many people have really loved their stays here. So it's possible that we ended up with an oddball of a room (one of the bespoke rooms). Though the room is enormous, the space could be put to more practical use. There is a hanging pendant chandelier right in the middle of the room. My husband hit his head on it twice before we decided to scoot the bench at the end of the bed over underneath the pendant so that he'd have to walk around it. There is no bureau, just a tiny closet. The worst thing about this room, though, is that the door to the bathroom is GLASS. A multi-paned pocket door that would be very pretty as a dressing room door, or a terrace/patio/balcony door...but it is the door to the bathroom. I can't help but think this was a choice made by a man, who thought it would be a sexy thing in the "bridal suite" to have a glass door to the bathroom...so one partner can watch the other in the shower, maybe? But there are other things people do in the bathroom that some people really want and need privacy for. Women, especially, in general. There's absolutely nothing wrong with putting on a nude shower show for your beloved, not judging that or any other displays consenting adults agree to share in private, but I do feel strongly that one can always leave the door open if one so chooses...and hotels should please, please just allow their guests the OPTION of being out of sight when in the bathroom. The bathroom is also RIGHT THERE, next to the bed...not like it's even separated from the room by a little mini hallway or alcove or something. Extremely and unnecessarily compromising of privacy. The staff seemed very nice but they did not replace our toiletries or coffee supplies, or even provide us with a Do Not Disturb sign. I asked for a sign and got one; I asked for coffee pods and got some; I’m sure they would have provided more toiletries if I’d asked, but the only times I remembered about asking were when I was already in the shower without toiletries. The free breakfast had choices both my husband and I enjoyed (I like a plain croissant, he likes a whole fry-up) and the coffee was good. The room breakfast is served in, however, is dark and a little gloomy…few windows, wood paneling. I think it would make a great evening lounge/game room, and they could turn the front room, which is very sunny and cheerful (but too much white and beige right now, like you're afraid to sit there and track in mud or something, of which there tends to be a lot in Litchfield County in March!) into the breakfast room. The outside of the building is very pretty, and the grounds are too. I enjoyed having a fitness room, however (also usually not found in country inns). And the location is fantastic.…
The reading room to the right of the lobby is gorgeous. Free snacks and drinks and a very friendly staff. If you are looking for a getaway in this area of CT this is the perfect place to stay. The complimentary breakfast is just right and made to order eggs were delicious. Our room was beautiful and clean. Thank you Litchfield Inn for another wonderful stay.
Litchfield Inn is a centrally located hotel near many charming Connecticut towns! I chose it because the room rates were far more reasonable then places like Winvian and Mayflower. I was expecting the hotel to be in a more remote location and was surprised when it was off a main road (but very far back). The lobby is very welcoming with beautiful music and candles. Our room, 206, was clean as were the rest of the common areas. I would stay here again if in Litchfield!
We could not possibly love this hotel any more than we already do! On MLK weekend our family took 2 rooms and had just the very best time ever. The hotel staff was so welcoming and wonderful and accommodated our every need. We can't wait to return. The Litchfield Inn is our go-to place to stay in Litchfield County. And Litchfield County is rich with attractions and things to do, so we will go back to stay at the Inn on the very next chance we get.
