This is a very good campground. It is wooded, medium sized (80 sites) with about 1/3 transient sites. The majority seasonal sites are for RVs that are there year round, and used weekends and for vacations (I suspect some folks live there for the summer). They only have a couple of transient sites with full hookups, and 30A service. The site we had was mostly level, and the connections were convenient and functioned properly - it is also nice that the sites are not so close together that you are on top of your neighbor. The cable TV was better than average, and the included WiFi provided a connection that was useful. This is clearly a work in progress, and there was evidence of multiple projects recently completed and in the works. This seems to be more of a true camping experience than a resort in that the place is really geared towards children and the quiet enjoyment of nature.

I grew up with Dave running the activities at Strawberry Park but that place has gone downhill. We found out this year that Dave and his wife Jen opened Sunfox and I couldn't be happier that we decided to give it a try. He does all the same activities throughout the day for the kids as he did at Strawberry Park - from pool volleyball, tie-dye t-shirts, dodge ball, bingo, and those are only a few. My kids had a great time. This place had NO golf carts running you over, facilities were clean, very family oriented. My children felt safe - no cars speeding through. The fishing pond is where my husband and son spent a lot of their time catching some big bass. The pool is new and very nice along with the adult hot tub. I would recommend anyone with children try this place out - we will be visiting each year from here on out so my kids can have the same great camping memories as I did growing up. Thank you Dave and Jen for running such a beautiful family fun campground.

We just returned from our first time at Sunfox and after staying for 5 days, our kids cried and cried on the drive home. We all had a great time. The schedule of activities for the kids along with the playground, jumping pillow, paddle boats, mini golf, and heated pool amongst other activities kept the kids entertained and very happy. Staff were very nice and helpful when we needed anything. The campground facilities and bathrooms were all very well maintained. We had such a great time that we are on a waiting list to be seasonal! We look forward to returning again soon!

I have stayed/went to a few different campgrounds in the area over the years. I would by far say this was the best experience I have ever had. Mainly I would like to say that the amount of activities for the kids is just amazing. We stayed for the first time last Memorial Day weekend and myself and my children had such a great time. The organized activities is really what I look for when picking where I want to go. Sunfox Campground knocked it out of the park! I am very excited as they have recently added a pool and jacuzzi. We will be back this year and every other year for our yearly Memorial Day camping trips. I have been looking forward to this trip since we left last year. Keep doing what you are doing!!

My wife and I were doing a search for campgrounds for our "official first camping trip..." as a complete family. We wanted to go to a place where camping is the main objective, not a resort. I searched and found Sunfox. I read quite a few reviews, and one was quite comical. The rest seemed honest and legitimate. We showed up, and was greeted warmly. The owner, David, was very accommodating. Anything we needed-he was there. What we loved most was everyday David held activities for the whole family and some just for the kids. It was very entertaining. Rewards were given out. He made it fun. Although we had a few days of bad weather, the campground drained very well, and things picked up right where they left off. Overall, we enjoyed our time tremendously. We will be returning very soon. The atmosphere and owners made the whole experience worth every minute. Thank you David and family for everything! See y'all again soon!

Lots of activities at this campground for kids and adults. Bingo, swimming, paddle boats to name a few. Campground is very shady and clean. Nice bathrooms. Showers cost a quarter for about seven minutes which seemed to be plenty. Food truck on site which had a great Burge amongst other things.

We have been camping at Sunfox for 2 years and have now become seasonal because we love it that much. Great owners who work hard to provide a top notch family camping experience! Our kids will have great memories from their childhood that we have made and will continue to make for years to come!

This is our second time camping at Sunfox this month and again we were not disappointed! Such a peaceful and serene place for my husband and I. We are enjoying seeing all the families having fun. Very clean, large sites. Beautiful hiking trails. Great fishing. The Nowakowski family make their campers feel like family! We can't wait to come back!

Horrible place. Extremely rude staff. Nobody watches children. 0 hot water and they don't care. Paid for unit 7 and never had it for 3 days. Plus mice running around all night 😭 dead bugs all over. Never clean. clearly not ready to open for the season. made up excuses instead of trying to fix problem. And when confronted with no hot water was TOLD to leave at 10 pm with 2 young kids. There are lots of other places, Go anywhere else.

Response from dnowa, Owner at Sunfox Campground
Responded Apr 28, 2016
As we are very proud of our campground and the positive reviews we have received from campers, we do feel the need to respond to a negative review. While this particular camper initially posted a separate 3-star review that started out as “Very nice people. Very comfy unit.…”, the edited follow-up on Google reviews and subsequent review on TripAdvisor obviously changed dramatically. As it became clear that we would not be able to please this member of the camping party, we refunded her the entire amount of her stay IN CASH for a reservation that was paid via credit card (as she would not accept a refund on her credit card), and asked that the camping party depart early. Being the first campers of the 2016 season to stay in Park Model #7, they experienced difficulty with the hot water heater on Friday evening. The pilot light was re-lit, and we were told that it worked properly for the Saturday morning showers. However, it apparently went out again Saturday evening, and although it was again re-set, her dissatisfaction with our campground rental unit became apparent. The gas grill which we provide as an added amenity on the site was only igniting one burner tube, resulting in added cooking time for dinner. While we strive to please all of our guests, we also refuse to subject our staff to the level of rudeness displayed by this camper when expressing her dismay in the campground office, as witnessed by other campers. Sunfox welcomes campers, but sometimes it is difficult to provide a "hotel atmosphere" to those who are experiencing a "campground rental" and may not be "campers". While we hope that our offering 3 on-site rental units can expose more families to the camping experience, there are some for whom camping may not be what was envisioned. While "campers" are typically aware of the aspects of camping, such as campground speed limits, there are some who fail to grasp what a campground is seeking to provide, which is essentially an outdoor experience, a chance to meet fellow campers and join in family activities. Lastly, while we strive to please our campers, we refuse to be intimidated by those who are unable to conduct a rational conversation, with threats of posting negative reviews. We also understand that there are those who may be influenced by the review of this particular guest, and although the kids were pleading to allow them to stay, they proceeded to post similar negative reviews after being required to leave. but we remind ourselves that people are often judged by the company with which they keep, and we will be perfectly content if this camper does not provide us with any personal referrals. We also understand that most campers taking the time to read this reply will realize that someone's edited review AFTER they were asked to leave may contain significant hyperbole. We look forward to a great 2016 camping season. Sincerely, David Nowakowski--Sunfox Campground
