Stonecroft Country Inn garners high praise for its exceptional service, with guests frequently commending the innkeepers' personal touch and the custom dining experiences. The inn's atmosphere is often described as cozy and charming, boasting plush furnishings and fireplaces that contribute to a classic country ambiance. While the hotel's cleanliness and meticulous maintenance are regularly celebrated, some guests have pointed out minor housekeeping issues.
The rooms' historical charm and luxurious amenities, such as jacuzzi tubs, are popular among travelers, though there are occasional comments on the need for upkeep. The location is well-regarded for its convenience to local attractions and dining in Mystic.

Detailed Reviews
My husband and I celebrated our marriage with a "mini moon" and stayed in the Lily Room at the Stonecroft Country Inn. We were greeted by Jodie and Tanner (her dog). She allowed us to check in early and was really eager to show us to our room. It was quaint, romantic and very private.
It was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast, so we were a bit apprehensive and unsure of what to expect but all went well. The bed is a tempurpedic and so that was AMAZING. The tub is big enough for two people (husband is 6'2" and he had ample space). The details in the room were well thought out and the A/C works like a charm!
The breakfast is soooooooo yummy and she remembered that I was gluten free and had a special gluten free donut for me every morning in addition to our 3 course breakfast! The grounds are gorgeous and the inn is very easy to navigate and get to Stonington and Mystic. We did the drive everyday and it was super easy!
The only things we noticed, but are of no fault of the Jodie or the Inn, is that the water pressure in the shower was a bit low and the TV remote (or maybe the TV) did not work. But those are normal and super minute things that did not affect our stay at all! Oh, the one thing my husband noted was that he would have loved to have a refrigerator in our room versus having it in the common area, but again, minor details and worked out totally fine!
We also traveled during the COVID pandemic and they exceeded our expectations as far as following CDC guidelines and the availability of hand sanitizer and socially distancing from other guests.
Such a lovely stay! Lovely people and dog :) we hope to visit again soon!

My husband and I stayed here after discovering that the rooms at Foxwoods were going for over $400 a night (we had tickets for a show). We immediately started looking for other options, and he found this darling little inn that was just a short drive away. We decided to take advantage of all the area had to offer by grabbing dinner in downtown Mystic instead of an overpriced steak at the casino. The downtown area was very easy to access from the Stonecroft Country Inn, as was the casino. We happened to be staying there on a beautiful day, and my husband enjoyed a beverage outside on the patio while I got ready for the evening (something he never gets to do!). The rooms were clean and adorned with many historic-looking details - literally felt like we had stepped back in time. The bathroom was spacious and provided us with ample room to get ready for the evening. The pillows were AMAZING, some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on (you might look at a place like this and think that the bedding could be as old as the decor, but we were so comfortable!). In the morning, we made our way to the main building for breakfast, which was a delicious baked French toast and sausages, with a lovely view overlooking a scene area on the property. The innkeeper could not have been nicer and we look forward to coming back someday!

So glad we were able to earn your business as more and more folks are seeing the value for what they receive here instead of a $400 plus a night for a sterile hotel room. All breakfasts we serve are 3-4 course and the atmosphere is calm and serene. Sure hope our paths cross again and surely bring your friends back! Thanks again !!

The first time we went to the Stonecroft Inn, we found that the innkeepers, Scott and Jodie Norton made every effort to keep us comfortable and did their best to provide us with information of things to see in the area. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The whirlpool tubs are cleaned with disinfectant after each guests stay.
The breakfast that is prepared is exceptional and the innkeepers go out of their way to meet your dietary needs.
Since our first visit to the Stonecroft we have since been back 4 times more for the peace, tranquility and relaxation. The grounds are well kept, the flowers are beautiful. Anytime of year is a good time.

Glad to see that you had a good time again and it’s ironic because our business LLC name is exactly what you wrote, peaceful tranquility. I chose that name because that was the goal in mind for all of our customers to try to achieve that and every visit. Hope to see you again as usual and continue meeting your needs to get away from reality and just get some R&R.

We have stayed at this inn in the past and it left an impression, which is why we returned. The vaulted ceilings are beautiful and the rooms are large, at least in the Shubel Suite. Our first visit (approximately 5 years ago) was exceptional due to the overall experience, specifically the hosts, breakfast, and homemade snacks that were provided. When paying $350+ per night in a B&B, you are paying for an experience, which is why people typically avoid hotels.
The once beautiful gardens out front were almost non-existent or overgrown. This second visit started off with Scott swearing about the heat outdoors and some recent issues with his teeth. After that, we didn't see him for the remainder of our stay. The room was clean, but the one we stayed in needed some upgrades, such as the broken bathroom doors with a sign taped to the wall requesting that it not be closed completely. In addition, the heated towel rack did not work. Our first night, the patio furniture on the private deck was missing. The website states that "complimentary snacks" and "gourmet breakfast" are provided. In the main lounge, there were two bags of convenience store chips and the refrigerator was empty. While the breakfast was good (French toast and quiche), it was not "gourmet"; this would be expected in any standard B&B. Lastly, there was no housekeeping.
Overall, I would recommend this inn if you are looking for a basic experience. It is not "elegant," "gourmet," or "distinctive," as described.

Thank you for your feedback. Between following COVID standards to keep everyone safe and the renovations to improve our Inn, we didn't meet YOUR expectations. There are signs posted to "pardon our mess while we renovate" the outside furniture was moved so the painters could paint. There are plenty of places to sit all around the property. The room you stayed in is scheduled for maintenance and repairs this fall, we have already updated four of the rooms. The letter on your bed upon arrival covers COVID measures, meal times, room refresh and other important information. in it, it states that if you want your room refreshed to place the "service please" sign on your door. The housekeepers will not enter a room unless requested. Our personal cell numbers are also listed, so that you can call us if you need anything. The heated towel racks do work, both dials need to be set in the red zone. Sealed snacks are the safest at this time and we will continue to provide them until COVID is past. The basket is restocked often with more than enough snacks for the guests. Our breakfasts are prepared fresh daily. This includes: muffins, sweet breads, scones or puff pastries to start, followed by fresh fruit cup or smoothie and then a hot entrée. Through the years, we noted what the guests enjoyed the most and that's how our menu is planned. We also offer hot and cold cereal or eggs if a guest does not like what is served, we also accommodate special diets. We have several gardens throughout our property and they are always a work in progress. As far as swearing, we all have a bad day now and again and if the Good Lord can forgive us, we hope you can too.

My husband and I spent two nights here, a Sunday night and a Monday night and stayed in the Lily Suite. As described, the hot tub was huge and comfortable. The room was nice, with a shared balcony, though I would have liked to have toured some of the upstairs rooms which I hear have high ceilings but I think they cost a bit more. The property is absolutely beautiful, with a lovely lawn, a little Pond rock water feature, a gas powered fire pits and backed by lovely Woods. A wonderful place to get away in some quiet. The room was clean. There is a mini fridge in the hallway that's shared by other guests. The hosts were kind enough to heat up our food in the kitchen microwave.

We appreciate your review I’m glad to hear that your stay was good a little bit confused as to why we only received three stars from you. Perhaps you can elaborate more at another time so we can improve as that’s what we continually try to do on a daily basis. Look forward to a return visit to earn your business once again.

We love the inn but could not enjoy the quiet that th. It was noisy because of the wedding band. inn offered before or the use of the outside area because there was grooming of the land, a wedding being held and pictures being taken on the grounds. The reception music forced us to change to another room on the other side of the building, where we still heard it. We love this place but may not return because our experience this time was not very good.

Thanks for your feedback and sorry we did not meet your expectations due to the wedding here that we made you aware of in advance. We did cut the noise out earlier as soon as it was over which we told you would be around 10pm. We have around 9 weddings here a year and we sure hope you will return during our quiet times to truly experience what we really are all about the remainder of the 356 days. Scott & Jodie Innkeepers

Our room in the main 1807 house was terrific, huge, well lit, with a comfortable king bed, silky sheets; the bathroom was roomy, the soaps and shampoos smelled very good. Everything was clean and quiet. Coffee available before breakfast. The stairs were steep. One should ask for the Butter room if stairs are a problem. Breakfast was in the Yellow Barn, a short walk from the 1807 house. Fruit cup, juice, granola with yogurt, waffles with bacon, good coffee.

Just one night, midweek, we found the Stonecroft Country Inn to be a perfect getaway. The innkeepers were attentive to every detail, ensuring the room was clean (and in these pandemic times, safe!) and comfortable. Our stay was in October, letting us enjoy mild temps and colorful foliage. Downtown Mystic is only minutes away with shopping, strolling, and great dining options. The breakfast at the inn was so convenient and delicious. The grounds are well maintained, with gardens to meander, games, a gazebo, and romantic lighting in the evening. Everything was taken care of, making our one-night stay feel like a therapeutic retreat. We came home refreshed and energized!

We've stayed at the Stonecroft Inn three times and have loved it every time! All the rooms we have stayed in are beautiful and comfortable with a large bathroom that includes a hot tub. A spacious deck outside the rooms overlooks the gardens and is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. The owners are so nice and very helpful and their dog Tanner is adorable! Delicious homemade breakfast every morning! Definitely our favorite place to stay in the Mystic area.

Hi Sue. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. We did have one room we tried as pet friendly but have since decided not to offer a pet friendly room going forward. Weare currently making that change to other partner websites and have made that correction to tripadvisor. Thank you for noticing. We hope to see you in the future.
