Rooms were clean..other than that, not Covid compliant. Wedding event did not set chairs for social distance seating for ceremony. Asked three staff to move chairs. Never done. Provided shared appetizers which is not Covid compliant. Table seating at reception was not social distace. Asked for housekeeping to clean room. Never done, had to search supplies and did it ourselves.

Thank you for taking the time to review Interlaken. We follow all the CDC guidelines and work to make sure our staff and Guests are safe. We are constantly reminding individuals about the guidelines, but in the end we are not permitted to enforce these rules. I think we already spoke about the chairs at the lake, bottom line is, the bride should choose how she wants her ceremony to be set up. Any individual has the option to move chairs where they feel more comfortable. The situation with Guestroom cleaning is still not permitted in Phase 2 and not something that I agree with, but we must follow the guidelines as that is a stipulation from the CT CDC for us to open. I hope you were able to see past all of these occurrences and enjoy the spectacular weather and wonderful cuisine.

My husband and I decided to stay here for our one year wedding anniversary, we checked in and were told how to find our room, when we get to the room we open the door and there was already someone staying in the room... We go back to the reception desk and tell the staff member, she apologizes and after a long wait she says she’s putting us in a different building than the place we booked, when we get to the room it’s a much smaller room and instead of a king size bed it’s two full beds, at this point we were running late for a dinner reservation so decided to just let it be. When we return to our room there is a large wedding party taking place right outside our window being incredibly loud, we tried to watch tv and all the channels were scrambled, we tried to sleep but the wedding party raged on till 2am. We had called the front desk to complain around midnight and nothing was done about it, we got very little sleep and overall had a miserable stay.

I booked 3 rooms at the main building overlooking the pool for 2nights for about 2,000 For this price, I expected the game room to be opened, to receive fresh towels, cups, coffee etc. I placed the tag on my door early in the morning for maid service, left it there all day. No one attended...the carts were in the hallway, but nobody around. The lake is nice, even has youth size kayaks, which my grandchildren enjoyed very much. There was a $15 fee on my bill...when I called they told me it was for the crib. Really? A fee for a crib?? Looking back, I think I was more annoyed they didn’t tell me up front.

We started sending these new guidelines in anticipation my Guests would like the new rules. I do not agree with all the orders, but I do understand the intent is to protect and keep everyone safe. I booked a stay for three nights with the Interlaken Inn on June 26, 2020, via Booking.com, selecting a non-prepay, fully cancelable at no cost, rate. The rate and booking terms and conditions called for $0.00 cost cancellation until September 2, 2020. I canceled on August 3, 2020. Instead of refunding all my money, as set forward in the terms and conditions (in the photos), the hotel sent me an email with a document (see attached) stating they were going to keep $25 as an administrative fee. This goes against the terms of the reservation (attached). Additionally, the hotel was also not allowed to pre-charge me for my reservation, per the terms, but they did so on June 26, the day I made the reservation, for $309.35. This charge allowed them to keep the $25 fee they arbitrarily charged (outside the terms), and they refunded only $284.35 on August 3. When I advised this hotel, via three email constants over one week without reimbursement, that I would take my complaint public to Trip Advisor and other online reviews sites, should they not refund my $25 by the next day at noon, the manager, Ryan Bousquet (the only person I have dealt with during all discussion per this refund) stated that I was "committing blackmail" by saying I'd review the quality of my experience online. Unreal. And today, when I called Booking.com, the agency I booked the hotel through, to file a formal complaint, they told me that manager Bousquet had written them and told them that he could not "process a credit as my credit card was declining THE CREDIT he was trying to apply". No emails from Mr. Bousquet, which I have four, detailed this alleged issue. A call to my credit card company, Chase, confirmed that they have seen no credit attempt and they stated that refunds are never declined. Additionally, it was only 11 days ago that the hotel successfully credited my card with all by the $25 fee in question. In other words, in my opinion, Mr. Bousquet's comment appears, to me, to be a lie. Overall , this has been a ridiculous rebuffing of a customer who has all their documents in order and is correct per the terms of the reservation. This fee is truly taking advantage of the customer, and while most would not fight it and just let the hotel keep the $25, I will not do so, purely on principle. Yes, I did not spend the night, but all people looking to find a hotel in this area should be aware of their hidden charges and total lack of customer service. I never, ever would have stayed here, had I known that they do to people what they do to me. Potential customers deserve to be able to know this up front. Thanks for your time.

I am sorry you had such a difficult time understanding the rules of Booking.com. I certainly understand why some Guests choose to use this site. When this 3rd party site is chosen it will limit Interlaken management's ability to solve the issues. I am a little surprised you are able to write on the TripAdvisor site, since you actually never stayed with us. We certainly have no hidden fees on our website.

room is very comfortable and plenty spacious. we were right across from the pool, which was fantastic. and the pool is amazing! the water is a perfect temperature and it’s kept obviously clean. susan at the front desk was wonderful during check in.
