I attended a wedding celebration at this location this weekend. The wedding celebration itself was beautiful (not as beautiful as the bride). The short ribs were yummy and the bride and groom picked a stupendous band. I am writing this review to warn folks that this place is expensive and the rooms are not nearly as nice as the person on the phone suggests. The manager/supervisor I will let you know was less than helpful and actually accused me of lying when I let him know we did not have blankets on our bed (I can assure you we did not) and he responded “that’s impossible as that is our policy”. No one in my family had blankets in their rooms…it wasnt just me - it was a pervasive problem. His lack of interpersonal and customer skills was appalling. I also want to warn folks that the pet friendly “cabins” are mostly pretty poorly appointed motel rooms with full size beds and moldy showers. We didn’t fit in our very small bed that the front desk person told my husband our “cabin” had a king sized bed. He had the joy of sleeping on the very uncomfortable pull out rubbery couch. They also shut our keys off prematurely. (And others in our family) So we couldn’t check in on our pets without going back AGAIN to the front desk to get in. Additionally - management was NOT helpful at all in helping us enjoy the wedding through dinner while leaving our pets who were stressed as is…instead of offering us options and having a humane lens on our difficulty - the supervisor sternly charged us for an extra night - $305 (how they feel this is fair I have no idea - I’m in customer service myself and was blown away with the lack of listening or customer skills) when we left by 7:30pm….and I’m quite sure no one was checking into that lovely room we had on Monday.

Thank you very much for your opinions and for sharing them with the Tripadvisor audience; however, we must be accurate when stating information to the public. The beds are not full-sized beds but rather Queen-sized beds. The pull-out sofa is a child's pull-out and not an adult pull-out. The triple-sheeted beds had the blankets removed for the summertime so that we could save the Guest's time of removing the blankets since most Guests in the summertime don't want the blankets on their bed. Yes, our pet friendly accommodations are not as extravagant as other Guestrooms, but people traveling with pets have appreciated the fact that we allow pets and are willing to accept the modest facilities. As for the keys, we don't simply cancel keys, the system automatically cancels a key for security reasons after a certain time so a person cannot go back to the room when others may have checked in. As far as charging for the room, we extended a late check-out to you past the 11am time and then past the 1pm time. At 3pm we were told by your husband that you were probably just going to stay the night. Your outrageous argument at 5pm when we could no longer sell the room did not make any sense as to why you should stay there for free. Albeit true, the housekeeping staff did go home but in your Customer service experience have you ever taken advantage of people like this? I think not. In 95% of the cases and with the wedding you attended, people were staying the evening of and do not expect to be entitled to keep the room after the wedding between 8pm and 10pm. I think your actions at the Front Desk embarrassed most people around you, but I don't feel it bothered you at all. You are absolutely right, it was a beautiful wedding and a wonderful evening and, in spite of what else is going on in this world, I disagree with the manner in which you behaved at our Front Desk. I only wish I could post the video so that I could show others how not to act when they are at a hotel front desk.

Had a great one day / one night stay at this inn with family. Due to change in plans , had to quickly find an alternative and found such a gem by the lake. We arrived in the evening and there was a wedding at the inn which didn’t affect our stay at all. As a matter of fact , the next day most guests were gone and we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves , the pool , the lake , kayaks and canoes . Will definitely return in the future.

By far one of the nicest clean resorts in CT. From the moment you walk in the front door and are greeted with kindness, to the awesome feeling of walking into such clean and sanitized rooms. Then to top it off with an outstanding dinner and service. I had my expectations and they topped them all with such wonderful customer service and outstanding surroundings. Thank you for the memories. We will definitely return.

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful review. We are Connecticut's best kept secret but work so hard to let everyone know about our successes. We hope you get a chance to visit again soon. The Fall is the most spectacular time to visit the Northwest Corner and the Berkshires. I appreciate your kind words!

The Interlaken Inn was great. Unfortunately we were there Monday through Wednesday, so did not get to utilize the restaurant. Hotel location was ideal with a charming lakefront view with boating across the road. Dank who manned the front desk was great. He gave us awesome service with a smile. My only complaint is that the wifi was not great.

Thank you so much for letting others know about your stay. I will certainly pass along your comments to Dank as he will be thrilled that one of our Customer's noticed his personal service. I'm not sure why the Wi-Fi signal was weak out in the Townhouse section because we just spent a great deal of money boosting that signal and bringing a fiber line into the property. We have had a great deal of lightning storms and maybe that has something to do with it, but thank you for making me aware. I appreciate your kind words!

Wanting a change of scenery and really craving an outdoor swimming pool in the heat of a New England summer booked the Interlaken Inn for 2 nights - less than two hours from home in Stamford, CT but provided exactly what I wanted - booked a main building pool view room and it was immaculate and updated and really comfortable - the bathroom was really nice with a walk-in shower with amazing water pressure. Enjoyed the peacefulness of the resort - visiting the lake with private access a short distance across the street - nice to get lunch and take it there to eat it - the lovely pool, never overcrowded and the on-site restaurant Morgan's for two really nice dinners - the Morgan's Salad is delicious. Local area really nice and loved the town of Salisbury (Sweet William's bakery a great stop for coffee or tea and a scone) - drove into MA to a winery in Sheffield and to Millerton in NY state a few times for tea at Harney & Sons, and on the way home stopped at the King's Highway Cider Shack at McEnroe Organic Farm for lunch and then onto the Millbrook Winery, both in NY state - cool to dip into three states over the weekend! All relaxing and picturesque and makes it so much better when you find a great base for the weekend, which I did!
