Stayed here for conference and it was a great experience. The rooms are large, beds comfortable and plenty of hot water. The hotel is older, well maintained and clean. It has a casual vibe and is super comfortable! This is a family owned and operated place and their pride shows. Everyone is friendly and helpful. No service issues at all! The standout is the food. Everything was great! This Inn was a favorite of Paul Newman when he would race near by. I would absolutely come back! BTW, ask if Copper, the house GoldenDoddle is around. He is awesome and loves as many pets as you can spare.

My team has used Interlaken Inn for several team workshops. From a group of 10 to a group of 30, our experience is always amazing. The prices are very reasonable for what is offered. I have come to know a lot of the staff and they have all been wonderful and respectful. Any request is met and handled in a timely manner. The rooms are comfortable. The food prepared in Morgan's Restaurant is top notch and plentiful. For groups they have a game room/library, that our team uses in the evenings to unwind. It is relaxing and a great place to just hang out at the end of the day. We look forward to many more team events at Interlaken!

The walls are paper thin. And it’s not inexpensive. I could feel the people walking in the room next door. And hear their every word. The hotel was fairly empty. They should space out the customers on nights the place is empty. I can’t imagine staying there again.

Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know about your displeasure. Our reservation department put the 4 third party reservations together assuming that you were all familiar with each other. It is increasingly difficult to understand Guest needs when the third party reservations are used. I see that you were in an adjoining room and that normally would never occur as we reserve adjoining rooms for those that make that specific request. I have put your name in Guest history comments so that you get a quieter room should you decide to stay with us again. Of course, if you do book through the third party reservation system next time we, unfortunately, won't be able to identify you.

When hosting a corporate offsite event, it’s nearly impossible to make everyone happy—unless you throw your event at the Interlaken. I recently hosted a corporate retreat at the Interlaken for 45 leaders from our business, and unequivocally this was the best venue I’ve ever worked with. There are so many ways a venue can fail to meet your standards – whether it be the quality of the food, meeting spaces, or accommodations, challenges with staff, cost – but Interlaken delivered on all of it. Read the anonymous feedback from just about any corporate event, and you’ll see how divisive food can be for large groups. The reviews from my event unanimously applauded the work of the Interlaken’s talented chef, echoing everyone’s positive feedback at each meal. They were particularly helpful in meeting the dietary needs and restrictions of every colleague we had on-site. Event spaces and property grounds were versatile and beautiful, allowing us to program all sorts of unique engagement opportunities on-site both indoors and out. The team at the Interlaken, from the event planners to the wait staff, were friendly and accommodating of every request we had – without sticking us with a penalty for last minute asks. I felt like their team was part of my team throughout the planning and execution of the event, and they were as invested in my event’s success as I was. If you’re looking to host a corporate event – do yourself a favor and host it at the Interlaken. Your colleagues will all thank you.

Thank you SO much for your wonderful comments! For the core staff of the Interlaken you have no idea how your positive message resonates to everyone in every area on our team. You are absolutely correct - we are invested in your program and every program that Jodie brings to our front door. Your mission in particular is something that we all stand behind and from meeting most of your team you can tell very quickly that your group's sustainability, responsibility and value to its employees stand alone in the corporate world. We are so pleased to contribute to the success of your program and we look forward to your return visit to the Northwest Corner of CT.

Nice, but a bit disappointed in the condition of the facilities based on the its reputation. Clean yes, but you can see the mail rooms are dated and not in the best of repair. For a place that seeks to position itself on a higher end of facilities, I found thier signage odd. No consistency or uniform style. Some were decorative but not matching, others military style stenciled, while others were nicely prepared. They do a $2 per item breakfast, nice idea, simple menu, however it was a very sad presentation. The hot water carafe had been used for coffee, ruining it for tea, a very basic catering error. There were no napkins available, and the service staff was less than interested in the guests. Was asked to register online, the function was not designed for desktop computers, requiring taking pictures, then uploading, registration by cell phone would have been easier, however arthritic hands preclude that. However after making a big deal about online registration to protect ones health (Convid world) there was 1 - no acknowledgment, 2 - still necessitated going to the registration desk to pick up a room key. Front desk staff was very pleasant, friendly and responsive They did provide a map of the facilities however the print was so small as to preclude it being usable without a magnifier, and no brochure to describe amenities, like the EV charger that was discovered walking the dog.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a Tripadvisor review. I'm so sorry that it it not a perfect review as I would have liked, but we will use your comments in a constructive way to fix the problems you have mentioned. We have taken tremendous strides in completing renovations in nearly all of our Guestrooms. I'm not sure the room that you spoke about and it is impossible for me to ascertain what room that could be from this review, but I hope after seeing this response you will be able to let us know where it was that you stayed. As for the breakfast eatery, you are absolutely right. We are working on finding the best personality to make this experience a compliment to everything else that happens at Interlaken. As far as your comments about living on our past reputation, I hope you did get a chance to experience our brand new lakefront area with the beautiful benches & swings, the pickleball courts, the new health and fitness rooms and programs, the new spa, and of course (our newest jewel) the movie room which features complimentary movies twice a day. I'm very sorry that you were looking for a brochure as all of this has been digitized as we have been told by many of our Guests over the last few years that the clutter of paper is considered old fashioned and that we should update. I agree with you that I like a larger map and just maybe we will do both so all of our amenities can be available both digitally as well as in paper form. I appreciate you taking the time to help us improve.

We had a great time in the foothills of the Berkshire mountains. The inn was wonderful. The staff was warm, courteous and professional. The lobby, restaurant, and front desk area is modern and sharp. The grounds are beautiful the pool and all the recreational equipment was clean and readily accessible to guests. As some other people have mentioned the room we had in the countryside building was nice enough but it did need some refreshing. the bed was not great, the windows were original and very old. The bathroom needed a renovation the tub, the vanity and sink were very old the shower head sprayed water everywhere, I also think it is tacky to wallpaper over light switch plates and outlets. The toilet sounded like a jet engine and could suck down a manatee. it was loud and scared whoever wasn't actually doing the flushing. Towels were delightful, the place as a whole was very quiet, not too many kids running around. The kids that were present were well behaved and supervised. The room was clean and the staff was great so we will be back next year for more racing and beautiful views. Something tells me the operators will heed the advice of a few reviewers and make the few improvements that will make the place perfect. Check out the lake across the road. How do they mow that beautiful lawn

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our property. I am sorry that we have not completely finished renovating the Countryside house but plan to do so by the end of Spring 2024. Many of our Guests choose the Countryside house for the separate peace and seclusion. I appreciate your kind words and hope to see you again in the next racing season.

My husband's family has been coming to Interlaken Inn for nearly 50 years. We are now on the 4th generation of children who consider this our special place and it is one of the greatest blessings of being part of this family. All year long, we dream about our time there and Interlaken Inn never disappoints. It is that utopia- where everyone is happy, everything is good and summer lasts forever. It isn't super fancy. It isn't big. It's simple and wholesome. It's like your favorite country home that has all you need and is worth every penny. The owners over extend themselves to make you feel part of the family. You can tell that they've put their whole heart into the place. The upgrades are awesome- food truck- yum! Movie theater- woah- it's incredible. There is plenty to do in the area and charm abounds, but for me, all I need is the lake. My heart stays on that lake every year until I return again. It holds our precious family memories and represents our best selves and happiest times together. I hesitated to write this review because in all honesty, I don't want the secret to get out. I don't want more people to know about this precious gem. I don't want even a blade of grass there to change, but we owe it to them. The only issue with our time at Interlaken Inn is that it has to come to an end. Until next year...

Thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments and kind words. It's hard to believe it's been nearly 50 years. I remember speaking to your husband and he pointed out that trees on the property were saplings when he first visited at such a young age. It's terrific to have your family a part of our heritage and it's just as fulfilling to be a part of yours. Thank you for noticing all of the new additions and I wonder what we will have in place before your next visit. Health and happiness until next year!

I have mixed feelings writing this review. I just spent two nights at the Interlaken Inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and that’s what earns three stars from me. But the “Countryside” room I stayed in… it was clean, but very very dated. The mattress was sagging, the shower head was very old and only half worked, and the bathroom - which looked clean? - smelled really really weird. I know this is a family owned business and I really want to see it succeed and thrive. But advice to management - spend one night in every one of your rooms, and make an honest assessment of what could be done better. A complete renovation is expensive and time consuming, I know. But the room I stayed in could use a new mattress and box spring, a new shower head, strip the dated wallpaper in the bathroom and just paint it, and for goodness sake figure out what’s causing that smell and address it promptly. Those simple steps - maybe one days work - would make that room worth another $50-100 a night in my book. I hope that this constructive criticism is helpful and I look forward to staying at the Interlaken again in the future. Thank you.

Thank you so much for spending the time to review the property. Not only do I appreciate your constructive criticism but I also appreciate the manner in which you wrote it. I cannot sleep in that room tonight but I did speak to the Guests in that room and they are enjoying themselves. I plan on having someone stay in that room early next week. I love that you pointed out high marks for the warm and friendly service. Incidentally, we have completely renovated four of the eight rooms in that house and will complete the remaining four before Spring. I'll get to the bottom of what is going on in that room and hope you choose to stay with us again in the future.

Thank you for coordinating our amazing family reunion, The food was great, the tennis courts were well used (and dried incredibly fast after rain), and the food was delicious. We loved having the whole big room to ourselves and the set meal times. The Bluegrass Band loved coming to play and everyone loved them. They wanted pictures of the lake and their band to remember the day, as well. Your staff couldn't have been more accommodating with the Shabbat, anniversary and birthday celebrations! We even got to show a family video to commemorate my mother-in-law who passed away a few years ago at age 99 and a documentary about my brother-in-law's basketball group which has played together for 50 years. The pool, the lake, the kayaks, and raft were well used by everyone of every age!! During the rain, the game room and movie theater provided equally exciting times. No one complained about anything and instead, kept thanking me, But actually, the thanks should go to you! If the reunion is in the East again next year, I'm sure we'll be back!
