Very unsatisfied! The Ivoryton suite was booked for our 50th wedding anniversary It was a basement room that was portrayed in picture to have a second level with stairs It was total mildew with all service equipment on the same level. It ruined our experience and we left! Very disappointed
We lived in Hartford 40 years ago and this was the go-to place for extra special meals. Today it's more casual (as is the world). Still very good. Seven for dinner on the porch on a beautiful evening. Good news: music was not too loud. Service was earnest and attentive. Fried oysters had a bit too much coating and escargot absolutely needed much more garlic. Striped bass and salmon perfectly cooked and well-sauced. Bibb salad superb. Pork Weiner Schnitzel good and a huge portion (although we prefer Veal). No one had dessert. Several wines by the glass. Good martini. The garden is beautiful. A most pleasant and fulfilling summer evening.
My wife and I were looking for a place to get away to relax and unwind after this past year. We found the Copper Beech Inn and made a reservation for three nights. Upon arriving we were very pleased to find the place warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were well kept and our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Dinner at their restaurant was delicious, the wait staff very courteous and helpful. Breakfast in the atrium every morning was excellent. Rides throughout the surrounding area were very scenic and enjoyable. Lots to see and do. I would definitely recommend The Copper Beech Inn to friends and family and hopefully to return for another visit in the future.
The Copper Beech Inn is okay, but certainly overpriced for what it offers. Our room and the hallway in the carriage house smelled of mold. There was no trash basket in the room (only in the bathroom). No in-room refrigerator. When we went for breakfast we had to wait an inordinate amount of time for our food, twice. And there is nothing special about the location. That said, the food was good and they had reasonable anti-covid measures (though they were annoyed when we asked to have breakfast outside instead of the enclosed space they prefer to use).
The first room that we had reserved was surprisingly tired and weatherbeaten, especially for a hotel with a 4 star classification. The wallpaper was detaching from the wall in multiple places. When we reserved the room I had inquired about the room having a deck and was told that it did. However, there was a sign on the door leading to the deck which said the deck was not available as it was under construction. We let the young woman at the front desk know that we were dissatisfied with the room and she moved us to a nicer and larger room with a larger and nicer bathroom as well. However, the toilet seat was chipped and scratched in several places. We were able to use the deck at the second room. The deck is an open one for four rooms rather than a private deck per room. It would be helpful if the front desk informed lodgers of this detail. We appreciated that we were moved to a nicer room, however, we will not return to this inn for future trips because we have seen inexpensive chain motels that are better kept up than this hotel. But the hotel's restaurant is a different story- excellent food! Don't miss it!…
