Nice upscale feel. My daughter and I wanted a nice hotel with a spa and a pool, a little “fancy” - this fit the bill perfectly. Lovely lobby with a Starbucks, a bar, plenty of seating, a full-service restaurant (breakfast and dinner, I believe). There is a ballroom and multiple function rooms so there were many events going on. The Cerulean spa was lovely and staff was gracious and accommodating (especially Tiffany and Wendy). We used Bonvoy points for the stay. As Platinum Elite members we received vouchers for 2 free breakfasts in the restaurant or at Starbucks, as well as a $10 food and beverage credit. Free bottled water at the desk any time. Seems pretty pricey if paying $$ , but it was a wonderful stay for us.
We stayed overnight for one night and it was fine, but I would likely try somewhere else if I needed to stay in the area again and there were comparable options. It's a very large hotel, which can be great for ease of booking and accommodating a large group, and there were several there. The halls were VERY loud. Parking was easy with a surface lot and lots of options. The area seemed very safe overall, but there weren't many options for food nearby. It was a quick drive into Mystic, and there were other options 10 minutes away by car. Likely not a great choice if you don't have a car to easily get around. The pool was nice, and there were lots of families there. It was a warm and welcoming hotel, and the staff were very efficient. I would stay there again if there were no "better" options to try, and wouldn't be upset to find myself here again, it was just average.…
Long weekend stay was great. Hotel is very nicely appointed. Lobby and bar are quite nice. Our room was comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable. Front desk check in was very friendly and pleasant. Would definitely stay here again!!!!
We enjoyed one night stay at this Marriott property. Staff were great upon check in and super helpful at breakfast. Hotel is just off 95 and a few minute drive to mystic and a bit longer to Mohegan Sun. Room was modern with minimal noise for us. Our room was clean but fit and finish on shower door could be improved as it kept sliding open. There is a small pool. We would stay again.
There was hair in the shower, hair in my salad from room service (though the first two deliveries were fine), curtain torn, there was a large crack in the window, intake cover coming off the wall. Disappointed.
1) toilette was backed up twice in a 4 night stay 2) our room (with 2 adults & 2 children) was never made up - not once. 3) morning $25 breakfast buffet has dry oatmeal all over the floor with workers and guests walking over the mess continuously for the entire meal (I can only assume it’s a “that’s not my job” mindset) 4) The clothes iron in the room was burnt…so I walked to the front desk to request a new one (because nobody would answer the front desk phone). Another iron was delivered - it was burnt as well. So I walked back to the front desk (because nobody would answer the front desk phone) and requested another one. I then walked with a hotel staffer to two different vacant rooms in search of one clothes iron that wasn’t burnt (needed to iron 3 different bright white dress shirts). 5) they have no housekeeping staff on site after 5pm. A hotel this size should be staffed 24hrs per day. Period. About #2 above - we stayed 4 nights. On the third day I asked the front desk why our room has not been made up. The answer was “You have to request to have your room made up each day.” Would have been nice to be told that upon check-In, but oh well. So the front desk staff said she would make sure our room was scheduled for make up the next day. She then offered to give me a bunch of towels that I carried back to the room myself. Next day, my family and I were gone until about 5pm. Room was still not made up. I went to the front desk and found out the person who scheduled it screwed it up and scheduled the wrong day (the person who scheduled it was standing at the counter listening to this conversation). In an effort to mitigate this situation, the front desk said they can’t modify my hotel room rate because I booked via a third party (American Express Travel) and wanted to give me a restaurant dinner voucher. I declined.…
Dull hotel without an ounce of charm or ambience and not located near anything except the highway. Rooms have an Ikea-like feel - functional but cold. No carpeting or decor. Terrific looking pool made all but unusable by an 8 am opening time, which the front desk person told us was a hard and fast rule. So unless you’re a late riser or don’t need to be anywhere before mid-morning, you can forget your morning swim. By the time we got back in the afternoon, the pool was overrun with little kids. No thank you. Room lacked little amenities like bottled water. The clock was set ten minutes ahead of the actual time with no way to adjust it, so we turned it off. As the final coup de grace, we returned to our room after a long day to find there had been no housekeeping. For two nights in this very mediocre hotel, we’re paying around $850. Terrible value in a lousy location.…
Very poor management of noise. We were at a conference and were awakened repeatedly from 1 am until 4 am by people partying in the hall. When I let the front desk know they said “that is too bad” (spoken empathetically). If you want to sleep, maybe go somewhere else.
First let me say that it was a very clean hotel and the housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed overnight to go to the Aquarium and Roger Williams Zoo. The hotel just left us cold. It was too modern for our taste. No laundry bag, no in room menu (had to go online), just little things that we missed. I did notice a place to do laundry which I thought was nice. Also the front desk staff was swamped busy, they didn't pick up the phone when we called down several times. We did room service for dinner, the steak was hot and delicious but for $45 dollars they gave us plastic utensils! Really? The morning breakfast buffet had a good selection but the scrambled eggs were cold. All in all, I'd stay again if I had too but there are so many hotels in the area I'll look around next time.…
The hotel is not far off 95, convenient to Mystic and the casinos. Staff were all really helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and updated. Parking lot was clean as well. Starbucks in the lobby was decent, better than average coffee and friendly service. The hotel is quiet, though when we went there were screaming kids in the halls at 7 am each morning. Hint to parents.... please consider the other guests!
