Detailed Reviews
Our seven night stay at the Stanton House was quite pleasant, particularly considering the ongoing pandemic and related concerns. The staff made certain of our comfort, keep us informed of any limitations imposed by the pandemic and endeavored to provide a tasty breakfast every morning, with very good coffee! The setting is lovely, and the house is interesting and rather classic, while being well maintained. We would strongly recommend this B&B for a relaxing and somewhat non-traditional stay.

Thanks for staying with us, and for taking the time to review your visit! We strive to create an atmosphere that feels like you're staying with friends. It does make the stay a little unconventional in a hotel sense, but it makes it so much better in terms of connecting. We hope to see you again soon!

My husband and I just spent our 3rd visit at the Stanton House Inn. This B&B feels like "our home away from home" located in a beautiful setting. It is so inviting with each room being unique, comfortable stocked with a French press for your early morning coffee, and very clean, great breakfasts and snacks, staff are very special, perfect location to everything you would want to do, see, and need, a swimming pool.... Will continue to stay at this location since our daughter and 2 yo grandson live nearby.

I grew up in Greenwich and recently stayed at the Stanton House Inn while back in town for a family gathering. What a great spot. The room (room 25) was fantastic and they were very responsive to any needs that we had. Off street parking was easy and the cleanliness of the property inside and out was impressive. I would for sure stay there again! My only reason for not giving it 5 stars was that breakfast was a little lacking, in both flavor and size but really was not an important part of my stay.

Thank you so much for trusting with with hosting you for your family gathering! Room 25, which we also call the Pomeroy Suite, has been very popular. I'm betting because of the size and the spacious, split, bathroom. And thanks to your review and those other other guests, we're planning on making some needed updates to our breakfast service. Stay tuned! Thank you again for staying with us, we hope you enjoyed your return visit to Greenwich!

This costly bed and breakfast has a premiere location in beautiful Greenwich, CT. But I found that the expense ($200 per night including taxes and fees) was not worth it for me, primarily due to the lack of amenities.
I arrived tired from a long plane trip, wanting drinks and dinner. The Stanton House has neither. It was a winter night, and since I had not yet picked up a rental car I needed to walk half a mile to find a basic Chinese restaurant. The walk back was cold and lacking night lighting on Maple St.
My room was small, the heating was noisy, and the complimentary breakfast stopped at 9:30. Despite the beauty of the public rooms, I would be reluctant to stay there again.

This review was one of my favorites in 2020, and guided our thinking in plotting-out our plan for the year, even through the pandemic. We have no desire to compete with our fellow business owners with restaurants downtown, but we want to make sure you and other guests still enjoy their stay here. Since your stay, we've started-up a tea room. While the pandemic is limiting its availability, we're using it as a stepping-stone to more consistently providing food and beverage-type amenities that you found lacking while here. We also planned a revamp of the room you visited. While the update was paused due to the pandemic and recession, we're confident that future guests won't deal with the frustrations you met while staying in that room. That said, our public areas are open to all guests, and ideal for spreading-out, including during the winter months. And the warmer months of the year is when our property really shines, with a seasonal outdoor pool, outdoor patio, and extensive gardens. All of which were unfortunately not easily accessible during a brief overnight winter visit. As I mentioned before, we're sorry to hear your stay with us missed the mark, but thank you profusely for giving us so much guidance in how to improve our business!

Warmly welcomed upon our late arrival. Check in was simple. The room was at ground level with plenty of space & comfortable bedding. We appreciated the vegan-friendly snacks in the room. The breakfast was delicious and we so appreciated their accommodation of a vegan-friendly option. Looking forward to returning to this hotel and hope to be able to enjoy the grounds more!

The Stanton House Inn felt just like home - very quiet, quaint. Staff was super friendly. The inn and our room were spotless. There are two very large parlor rooms on the first floor to hang out in. We look forward to staying again in the summer months to see the pool and gardens.

On a recent driving vacation of southern New England, we found a challenge in this time of pandemic concerns to find a B&B that would take bookings shorter than 3 nights. Almost being relegated to the hotel route (yuck), I looked one more time and the Stanton House Inn popped up as an option.
It was a little out of my search area and at the top of my planned budget but so so worth it. Staffed by mostly millennials they struck the perfect balance of being attentive and staying out of the way. Our room was of ample size for our two nights. When we come back, if it’s for longer, a larger room to spread out more is definitely within consideration.
On our second night some guests, who had skirted the rules against large parties booking blocks and individually booked their own rooms, had a late night party in the common areas complete with masses of people tromping through the inn to their rooms at 2am, obviously with hard soled shoes on wood floors. They left a mess in the dining room that the kitchen crew had to clean up when they arrived, setting breakfast prep back. The staff handled the obstacle professionally and sensitively, with genuine concern for other guests being disturbed or delayed.
I am terrible with remembering names so I won’t even try, but I will try to learn them on our next visit

Hey there! Thank you for leaving such a great review, and taking the time out of your busy day to write it! I'm so happy to hear that you picked up on how much we all care for the guests that choose to stay with us, and always want people to leave happy! It's so great that you also picked up on our balance between letting people enjoy their vacation while also being there when we're needed. I remember exactly what party you're talking about (we don't have that many to remember), I hope they didn't disturb your peace too much! But I'm also glad it gave you the opportunity to see how our team works. I'm glad you were able to stay with us and not in a hotel, and that you enjoyed it so much! We certainly hope to see you again the next time you're in the area!

The Staunton House is our “go to” place to stay when we visit Greenwich. It’s comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect.
They also do a great job with their COVID protocols, including bring their delicious breakfasts to your room if requested.
We love staying at the Staunton House Inn!

My husband and I spent 2 night s at the Stanton House Inn. It is absolutely lovely. The staff was great.
Highly recommend. We arrived ion a Friday the staff gave us instructions on entering. We walkked into a beautiful home with lovely furnishing and rooms with fireplaces. Our room was on the 3rd Floor -it was gorgeous with a beautiful 2 person bathtub a separate bath and shower and a cozy sitting room. There was coffee ,waters and snacks on arrival. Breakfast was exactly right -with quiches and croissants.
We had a delightful experience with tea on Sunday -perfectly done by Katelin the wonderful manager. We can't ait to come back!

Nice location, just outside the downtown. The old converted mansion gives the authentic feel of being part of Greenwich history and was nicely decorated inside. The downstairs common areas and the room we stayed in were all very nicely refurbished. Some aspects (like the upstairs hallway) were clean and safe, but narrow and felt not to the same level of refurbishment.
The pool was great and key for our August visit.
The breakfast was fine. I really liked the unusual seasonings on the avocado toast (A+ for that). The buffet items seemed grocery store-ish (B+) and for the price of the room they ought consider at least upgrading to a local high end bakery. There were 3 servers working, but as mentioned by others, they spent most of their time in the back room and were not readily available.
The arrival is handy in that you get a key code and can arrive whenever, but that also makes for an odd un-hosted feeling to the stay. Typically inns have a chatty inn keeper who tries to make people feel welcome, but not here. That is all fine for us and maybe even preferred since we're from New England so don't expect more than a gruff hello, but I worry for the unacclimatized person from Atlanta who finds the whole thing insulting. The flip side is that it is great to be able to just arrive whenever and not have to panic that traffic on I95 is going to cause you to miss check-in.
We will return.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review, ElectricalEngineer! The more detailed the better, as far as painting a picture of your stay, and finding opportunities for improvement, go. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the historic charm of our converted historic mansion. And you're right, the hallways have not yet been refurbished, they're on the docket for this coming winter! We collaborate with a local caterer for much of our breakfast offerings. So the praise for our avocado toast and the feedback on our buffet are both going to them! Thanks for the heads-up on our team! With three team members on breakfast duty, we do prefer to have one in the dining room, so that we're readily available. We'll be working on jiggering our hosting process. Thanks for the opportunity to get 1% better every day (one of our core values)! And I agree a heads-up for some visitors is wise regarding our check-in process. We've learned to streamline as much as we can. Because, as you mentioned, guests do typically prefer being able to arrive whenever, based on years of feedback. On a normal day, one of us is here into the afternoon to welcome guests, and one of us is on call if you need anything at arrival (or throughout the stay). And I promise you'll get more than a gruff New Englander hello if you do! All that said, we're happy to hear that we'll get the chance to host you again, and show-off some improvements! Until next time!

Dear Elizabeth,
So sorry but we do not have long term facilities for families. We offer "bed and breakfast" only and cater to an adult clientele. We do not serve other meals and welcome children over 12 years of age.
Good morning and thank you for your interest. We have a room towards the back of the house with its own private entrance, if a few short steps aren't a problem?
