The Delamar in Greenwich, Connecticut is our 'home away from home' whenever we need to be in the Westchester, N.Y area. In fact, we love this hotel so much, that we now often stay there when we need to be in Manhattan as well. We take the train into the city, which is very convenient since the hotel offers a drop off service in a Tesla! The Delamar is elegant and stately without being stuffy or pretentious. The luxurious rooms are extremely clean, comfortable, well thought out, and include all the desired amenities. The hotel manager Raymond and his staff, including housekeeping, the front desk, and especially Eli and Ben, two of the nicest people to greet you upon arrival, are all very professional, warm, and attentive to their guests' needs. During our last stay in January, Raymond went beyond expectations in arranging airport pickups and rooms for family who arrived at the hotel at 7:00 am!! With beautiful harbor views and the wonderful L'Escale restaurant which has live music in the lounge, a fitness room, and spa, there isn't a more luxurious and inviting place to stay in the area. Thank you for always making our stay such a treat!

This is indisputably the best hotel in Greenwich, and one of the best in the region. The location is prime, the rooms are lush, and there is a French restaurant in the hotel.
But you need to be prepared to pay significantly more than the quoted rate.
I booked a room with one bed for two nights. When I arrived I needed two beds, since my daughter was with me and had a cold. The hotel said that the charge for two beds was $50 more a night, since it was a room with a view.
This was on top of the $30 per night I was already paying as a "resort fee," which seems excessive. Then there were the taxes, bringing the total for two nights to $640. The basic charge as quoted on Priceline was in the low $200s.
Also, complimentary free breakfast is bare bones continental, unlike their sister property in Southport, which has a bountiful free hot buffet.
The upside is that the hotel is beautiful, plus the views from our upgraded room were camera worthy.

Dear 8MoonRiver, Thank you for your review and your time to post it. We appreciate that you recognize the stellar quality of all we offer including spectacular views of Long Island Sound! I'm sorry your daughter had a cold when you arrived and you needed to change your room accommodations. Front desk agents always do their very best to accommodate last minute changes as was the situation with your request. At those moments as in any moment when making or changing a reservation, everything is based upon availability. With regard to the "resort fee", it is a $15 per night gratuity added to each room which is shared among all staff. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to your return. Sincerely,

I had to travel for work during these challenging times. The Hotel staff were amazing. They were kind, made sure I had everything I needed for may stay. Their cleaning protocols, along with the masks worn by the staff ensured that I both was safe and felt safe. Having a lovely balcony over the water really enhanced my visit. The location was also great, easy to get to and I can image once everything is open, lots in the area to do. I highly recommend.

Lots of thought went into decor, and, shiny lobby. The self serve, upgraded, coffee machine pours out fresh tasting coffee in the lobby during breakfast. Housekeeping was pleasant, as were the Baggage handlers and check in staff. One can enjoy looking at some boats docked outside for a bit. Bathroom amenities were nice. 10 minute drive to downtown area shoppes, restaurants. But, over course of a few days as guests, the Delmar Greenwich rated a 2 (because 2.5 rating is not available.) Think Hampton Inn with a chandelier, and warmer color palette. The place promises, but, fails to deliver, four-star luxury.
Grounds consist mainly of two parking lots.
Disturbed in the Superior room by continual highway roar, and conversation, TV from room next door. This means rooms are too small, walls are too thin.
“Attitude” from some desk staff when concern was raised. Pictures online cropped so the unsuspecting don’t realize their harbor location is situated at the landlocked, smallish end. I understand harbor view does not mean expansive, ocean front view, but, Superior balcony level rooms should also indicate the view includes partial parking lot, restaurant + hotel patios, and a parking lot directly across water.
Sadly, touting the adjacent restaurant is of no benefit to the guests other than proximity. The desk staff tried in vain to get the restaurant to answer the phone to book a reservation, although they were “open”, apparently the hotel has no standing there. It was then suggested we walk next door to make a reservation ourselves, where we were ignored for 7 minutes as a host prattled on about wine to another employee without as much as a hello. Had to scramble, and make our own dining reservations elsewhere for the entire stay. A follow up on dinner from front desk would have been appreciated, as they sent us off to fend for ourselves.
It is a shame, wanted to love the Delmar, but, we could not ignore the unceasing highway noise to relax, sleep uninterrupted in the room, or even soak in the bath. Coupled with a grocery store type breakfast (yes, Covid restrictions put a damper on breakfast dining, but it takes little effort to assemble small “take away” boxes or bags for guests so we’re confident the juice, granola bar, yogurt, or piece of fruit wasn’t pawed over by other guests and set back onto self serve trays again) Spa was closed, although pop ups while booking on line encouraged guests to add spa service packages. Since the hotel was far from full, attention to these details would have taken minutes per guest. This place needs extensive sound proofing as it is too close to large I-95, so close you can see the highway from hotel. Cannot recommend Delmar Greenwich Harbor Hotel.

What a beautiful hotel situated right on the Greenwich harbor. My stay began with the offer of a bottle of Voss water. The lobby was breathtaking. The rooms were luxurious every comfort was available. Soft beds super soft pillows, Bluetooth speaker alarm clock. Robe and slippers in the closet. High end snacks and a fully stocked liquor cabinet in room. The bathroom was well stocked with anything you may have forgotten and with a phone call (from bathroom phone) you could get anything not provided. Also rooms have a doorbell, that's a first for me.

Upon checking in we received vouchers for morning breakfast which consisted of fresh pastries, yogurt with fresh toppings and a juicer that made the tastiest orange juice I have had from a hotel stay. The continental breakfast on Saturday was also as good, fresh raspberry preserves, bagels and breads with the same pastries and juices. Friday they offered cheese and wine with a piano accompaniment, doesn't get much better than this.

In the evening the hotel staff brought water (Voss) and ice service to rooms. And chocolate.

Parking was covered right outside the entrance. They offered free transportation in one of two Teslas. The staff was professional and helpful our entire stay.

Will return for a non business stay.

The Delamar is without a doubt a beautiful hotel. The lobby is beautiful. The artwork and the furnishings are beautiful. The location on Greenwich Harbor is beautiful. I'm sure most of the rooms are beautiful.
The location of our room was a huge disappointment. On the floor directly above the very busy l'escale restaurant, our time on the terrace was not enjoyable. Our view was partially obscured by a rather nasty looking restaurant roof. There was the constant aroma of food, clanking of dishes and never ending hum from the crowd one floor below us.
Should you chose to stay at this lovely hotel and pay extra for a harbor view room, please just be sure your room is not located above the restaurant. It will make all the difference for you.

Booked a last minute stay for one night on our way to Boston after driving for many hours on I-95 and hitting bad traffic. The hotel is beautiful and has a cozy feel. We walked in without a reservation and were lucky to get the last room. The front desk staff was very nice. The room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable. We appreciated the soft robes and excellent line of soaps, shampoo, and hand creams complementary in the bathroom. Parking was free and we were able to self park, which was convenient with items we had to go get from the car as we were on our way to a conference. Location is convenient and very close to Greenwich Avenue and the train station. We ate dinner next door at L’escale, which was outstanding. We only stayed one night but everything was great and we had a good night’s sleep. Wifi was strong and we appreciated the continental breakfast. They had a nice coffee machine and had pastries, yogurt, fruit, and orange juice which was just what we needed. The views to the Harbour are really nice. Would stay there again! Highly recommended.

Gorgeous. Great value with the winter price. But mattress was soft and as bouncy as trampoline, and pillows were flat, floppy messes. I don’t know if this is the case in all the rooms, but it was in ours. They desperately need to upgrade to memory foam mattresses and pillows. Also, thermostat was locked and couldn’t go below 67 but it was definitely warmer, more like 71/72 in the room. I didn’t sleep. I was able open the double doors to the outside but then the light came in. Room was visually appealing, but missed the crucial marks for comfort.

Dining room was closed for reno so I can’t speak to food or room service but local Sushi Soba was incredible for dinner.

Now to the real issue, the spa. My husband doesn’t do massages but I wanted him in the room with me for my massage. It was our five year anniversary, I booked a facial and massage package, priced at over $300, and we thought it would be lovely and sweet for him to sit in the comfortable arm chair absolutely out of the way while I received my massage from a male masseuse named Christian. I normally don’t do male masseuses and have only ever exclusively been massaged by a female therapist. This was another reason I wanted my husband with me. I told my aesthetician Debbie, who gave me a beautiful facial, that it was great that I was staying in the same room for my massage because there was a chair in there and my husband could sit. She said that it shouldn’t be a problem though they’ve never gotten that request before and she would just make sure. After my facial she came back and said that her boss Stephanie said that “they don’t do that.” I told her that I understood, but I was requesting it nonetheless, and just because they don’t do it or haven’t done it before doesn’t mean they can’t do it. I assured her that my husband would just happily sit quietly and we would exchange looks every now and again and given that the room was fitted with a big arm chair clearly there was enough room for him. Come to find out, the truth was that Christian the male masseuse didn’t want to do it with my husband in the room, and he and Debbie both put the blame on Stephanie, who later called me and apologized profusely, comped my facial and gave me a voucher for a future massage. Christian is a weirdo who does not put the comfort of his female clients first. Why did he substantially refuse to massage me with my husband quietly in the room? Avoid him.

Dear Mobile06558225903, Thank you for staying with us and posting this review. I appreciate all of your comments, positive and negative. With regard to the Spa, although it is on premises, its policies and practices are dependent upon Spa management. I read here that you've already been contacted by Stephanie which is the appropriate standard of procedure and that she has responded in ways you feel are appropriate. Regarding the hotel, it was scheduled for renovation in early 2020 but Covid caused major delays. We are excited once again since it is now scheduled to begin early 2024. Sincerely,

The Delamar Hotels Greenwich Harbor is 100% on point after reopening during the Covid crisis. Since I live in Greenwich, a stay at the Delamar wasn't exactly what I had planned for my summer "vacation" after being on lock down, but an extended power outage landed us at the Delamar for five nights last week. Our stay could not have been better - every detail was expertly managed and we felt so comfortable staying there even though Covid is still continuing. Thank you for making us comfortable during a doubly difficult time!

I highly recommend the Delamar Greenwich Harbor for weekend escapes from New York, to kick off a New England foliage tour (Greenwich is gorgeous in October), a shopping/restaurant getaway (Greenwich Avenue is just a short distance away) or even a staycation for locals (let's just hope we don't have any more hurricanes and power outages).

Great hotel. Ideal location. Very pleasant and efficient staff across the establishment. The room was extremely clean and well appointed.

The only problem was the "entitled" position of many guests, who felt that mandatory town safety requirements didn't apply to them. These same "entitled" guests felt that smoking a (disgusting) cigar outside, thus polluting the air for those on their balconies, was their inalienable right. Must be something about Greenwich.

To be clear, NONE of this is the fault of the hotel. The staff there tried very hard to have guests comply with mandatory requirements. I felt sorry for them. The hotel itself is excellent. Just wish they had different guests!

Dear MB8814, Thank you for staying with us and for providing this thoughtful feedback. We greatly appreciate your awareness of how diligent our staff is towards ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests. Equally, we share your dismay with those guests who refuse to comply with current Covid safety mandates despite our diligent efforts. With regard to the offensive cigar smoke, we are a smoke-free property however, it is very difficult to enforce this policy when guests or others are outdoors. Again, we thank you for your excellent review. We regret that the lapses on the part of some guests spoiled what would have otherwise been a perfect stay for you. Sincerely,
