Fabulous time. Great accommodations and wonderful food. The area is absolutely beautiful. I loved the visit. Saw some sites and went to a play in Granby. Check out the library. Best I've ever seen.! Thanks so much.

I'm glad you had a wonderful time while you were here. Our house was built in 1805 by Truman Gillet in a small town where there is plenty to see and do in and around Granby, CT. Lots of antique stores, art galleries, nature walks, parks and nature reserves. We also have lots of really good restaurants of every flavor and an ice cream shop that was voted New England's best is 2017. We're close enough (9 miles) to Bradley Int'l Airport to enjoy the benefits of being close, but far enough away not to hear the noise of the aircraft.

Thank you for the kind review. Kim my wife and I try to make a comfortable place for quests to stay. My mother taught me right how to make a good breakfast in the morning to keep you going through the day. Guests can eat as light as they want or fill up when they don't have any idea when lunch will be. We also have made many specialty to keep those with special dietary needs coming back. Connecticut is a small state with a lot of places to go see as a tourist or there are local farms, vineyards, antique shops and art galleries co visit.

Wow, I feel like I sound be walking on water at about this time. Kim and try to make a comfortable place for our guests and it sounds like we have. The other week I had cooked some pancakes a little more golden brown than I normally do and the guest loved them. I would have made another batch but I was told that they were just how she liked them. I do the the skills to make them right, but I'll always take to being lucky when I can.

Colonial house in a rural, wooded area with helpful and friendly hosts. Breakfast was ample and with a number of options offered. The Connecticut Room was comfortable with a private bath with a large spa tub and shower. Within a reasonable walking distance of a good pub-style restaurant. Able to store our bicycles in one of the outbuildings.

Thank you for you review. As I agree with almost everything you stated except I would like to clarify " Within a reasonable walking distance of a good pub-style restaurant." if I may. For bikers that have hundreds or even thousands of miles a walk of 1 1/2 may be nothing but it's not right next door. Also it depends on the time of years as the room leading to the restaurant is narrow, has no street lights and has stretches of no houses nearby. So we offer a shuttle ride to and from the restaurant if needed to keep our guests safe and dry.

We made the hike to northern Connecticut to celebrate an early birthday for my daughter and found this lovely little spot which luckily had a vacancy (we booked about 3 weeks in advance). The house is from the 1800s but the accommodations are all 21st century- including a jetted tub and ac controlled in the room. This inn is near so many great shopping and eating places, plus only a short drive to many of the wines in the CT passport book. Breakfast was great, they met our gf needs, and my hubby’s coffee requirements plus fresh oj and fruit salad. Really a lovely place to stay and Wayne has all the info on the places to visit nearby.
