Overall, the Ethan Allen Hotel is a very good value. The staff is very friendly, facility well maintained and the rooms are very clean - super important with the pandemic going on. The rooms are spacious and mattresses are super comfortable (and so are the pillows - something that is often overlooked!). The restaurant was operating on a limited menu without room service, but the food was on par with what would be expected of an upper tier restaurant. On the other hand the rooms are a bit dated. The decor is very early 90s and could use an update. The rooms and their furniture show their age. The rooms lack a coffee maker which is pretty much a staple in any modern hotel room. The bathrooms are clean but again, dated and the water pressure is a bit on the low side but not inadequate. All that being said, I think this hotel is still a great value and good place to stay. It’s very clean and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable - and that’s most important. I would happily return in the future.

We generally stay at another hotel in the area but decided to give Ethan Allen a try. As former residents in the area, Ethan Allen always looked lovely and inviting. We were disappointed. Our Junior King Suite was dated and we missed the amenities provided by most other hotels, mainly a coffee maker and reliable internet. I had to walk back to the lobby area to get a connection. All in all, we would have been much happier at our usual hotel.

We stayed 5 nights without electricity due to a very bad storm (we had no other choice but to stay). The hotel charged us full price for a room with no lights, no email, no texting, no refrigerator. They gave us a smaller room than we reserved and it reeked of smoke. They said it was the last room. Carpets were filthy. The two at the front desk were nice. Management was making the decisions. I would like to send the staff to a seminar on hotel Ethics.

I go to Danbury a few times a year. I usually stay at the same place but Ethan Allen has great deals going. Going off the name I couldn’t pass it up. Everything was fine but not great. The reception area inside looks nice (there was a big party there all weekend that looked great). Rooms meh, plastic cups, thin bedding, no view, basic and nothing special anywhere. The staff was friendly and responded very quickly. Conveniently located near highway. If there is a deal I would go back, but not worth a special trip.

The hotel had a beautiful environment, fantastic amenities and diligent staff. I had a few issues while staying at the hotel which were rectified immediately. Rob and the other administrative staff were professional and extremely accommodating to my stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the CT/Danbury region.
