Very relaxing stay at The Kelsey House B&B. Can NOT beat the view from the porch to the water. We stayed two nights, Ken and Sue made us feel extremely welcome....and the breakfasts were phenomenal! Stayed in the East room, with bathroom across the hall, which we had to ourselves. Four windows in the room, so good cross ventilation and a view of the water. We had windows open one night but then it got humid and we used the A/C.
We were on a road trip around New England with our friends and had booked the two rooms to stay here. We were really glad we did. The house is situated on Payne’s Point and looks over Long Island Sound. The view from our bedroom, the East Room, and the porch was spectacular. Our bedroom was lovely and clean and very comfortable. The air con helped to cool the room down before we went to bed. The breakfasts served on the porch were fantastic. Sue and Ken were fabulous hosts. Our evenings spent on the porch having a gin and tonic whilst looking over Long Island Sound were really memorable. We had a fantastic time. It’s a great place to stay!
Our East Room retreat had a comfy bed, beautiful linens and best of all the ocean right outside. Only 3 rooms and it was just us and the delightful innkeepers Susan and Ken we loved having the place to ourselves. The reviews for Susan’s breakfast are spot on, absolutely delicious. Her baked goods in the afternoon divine. There is a tv room with a leather couch next to the East room. Downstairs the dining room has one large dining table so if there are other guests depending on when they arrive you’ll be sharing. We we glad it was just us as it added to the romance. The dining room connects to the living room which had a gas fireplace which warmed us on a chilly night. Right outside is the wrap around porch with lots of chairs if you decide to park with your coffee or afternoon port. …
It's like visiting friends here, so peaceful and quiet but so totally convenient. The innkeepers are extraordinarily helpful and pleasant. We stayed in the East Room which overlooks the water with a queen bed, just perfect! Plenty of room for our luggage to spread out. The porch is wonderful to watch the water as the sun goes down. Impeccably clean with very much attention to detail here. Breakfast was excellent, the croissant French toast stuffed with strawberries! Easy drive into New Haven and there are some restaurants close, Stoney Creek Brewery was fun! Only two rooms here so plan to book early! Just a wonderful place!
highly recommend staying here, the food was excellent, the room was extremely clean, and the Kelsey's were the nicest people ever! we loved having coffee in the early morning and sitting on the porch overlooking the water. absolutely beautiful!
