I’m halfway through my stay here and this is my 6th year in a row coming here and I’ve never had less than a perfect experience until this year. First of all it’s completely sold out, so unless you’re at your site you feel how many people are here. Second, they have a lot less activities this year, I’m thinking due to Covid. There are no movies and no hayrides. Last year I came during Christmas week and just in a day I did a craft, stuff a bear, met Santa, and went on a hayride. Third, the pool is heading towards a disaster. They are only allowing 50 people in at a time due to state laws, so we had to wait to get in. Once we were in, we sat by the pool and this dad was encouraging his two sons to dive and then did but kept telling their father that it says no diving and he kept saying no you can dive go dive! I couldn’t bear sitting there if anyone got hurt so we went to the hot tub where there was currently one adult. That adult had two younger adults come over and I counted to make sure there were five of us. They are currently allowing 6 people over 16 for 15 min in the hot tub. The people and time allowance are new state laws due to Covid and the age allowance is a state law that has been in place. Not even 5 min into being in the hottub, 4 teenagers under 16 come running over and hop right into the small tub. I could tell they were under 16 because they give plastic bracelts to 16+ and paper bracelts to people under 16. I got out because I felt like it was too crowded in the small hottub. So after waiting 10 minutes to get into the pool area my fun was over in less than 10 minutes. Fourth, the prices for food went through the roof from last year. Just an example, an ice cream sundae was $5 last year and it is now $7.25!!! My husband and I always buy more than half our food here because the prices are so reasonable, so we were shocked with how much more expensive it got in a single year. I also noticed site prices went up. I absolutely hate to even say anything went wrong because I love this campground and the staff is so friendly and I come every year. I even pick up trash here if I see it; I do everything I can to make sure people aren’t going to give this place a bad review. I will be giving them another chance next year when hopefully Covid calms down, but after 5 years of a perfect experience and now this and living 2 hours away, if I have another bad experience I may have to find somewhere else. Over the past 6 years of coming here this is the first year I’m trying to find a place for a day trip so I don’t have to spend another full day here. I normally have to be pulled away on check out day not wanting to leave. I really do hate to write this, but I need to leave honest comments.

Overall this was one of the better campgrounds I’ve been to. We will definitely be back. It was like staying at resort but you still felt like you were camping (unlike most campgrounds nowadays that feel like a parking lot for trailers and RVs) Positives: 1.) The pool area! There is a better than average splash pad right off of the pool area so you can watch your kids in both areas at the same time. There is also an adults only jacuzzi that looks over over a BEAUTIFUL view of the lake 2.) The lake beach set up! There is a nice little beach area. The water is clean. There is a little restaurant on the beach where you can order food for a decent price. There is also a dock for fishing a tons of boats (canoes, kayaks, row boats) that you can rent for $10/hr 3.) So much to do. Multiple playgrounds, mini golf, ice cream shop, several restaurants, camp activities, basketball court, tennis court, horse shoes ect... 4.) Wooded lots!!!! I swear it’s impossible to find wooded lots anymore but... choose carefully! The further away from the fun stuff you are the better the lots are. We stayed on site 30 which happened to be a happy medium. It didn’t look private on the map because it’s right next to the tennis courts but we had a cabin on one side and a wooded area iin the other. The tennis courts were behind us but they were rarely used and our little kids rode their bikes inside the court while we were making food and it ended up being perfect. The other sites around us were not as private but when we walked around, the sites in the back were great 4.) great customer service. Order your wood and ice at the store and they deliver to your site. Staff drive around on golf carts constantly and take your trash away for you. Everyone was friendly 5.) Clean bathrooms! We went during COVID and made sure we didn’t have to use public facilities but used them out of necessity a few times and they were definitely some of the cleanest campground bathrooms. “Negatives” 1.) ok... the noise.... I’ve seen a lot of reviews about this and they aren’t wrong. The campground is right off of route 2. I never heard it until nighttime. It still didn’t bother me but I could understand how other would. I would assume that the sites on the other side of the grounds (OPPOSITE the mini golf course) wouldn’t hear it much if at all 2.) not bike friendly. It’s SUPER hilly. The only spot our five and seven year olds could ride their bikes was the tennis courts. Not a big deal for us bu just an FYI to not bother bringing your bike unless you can handle steep hills 3.) Not easy to get around because of the hills and because it’s actually a rather large campground. Apparently they usually have little trollies of some sort come around to bring people to the pool/lake area but we went during Covid so that wasn’t running. We were close enough to walk but I was glad we had a close site.

my family and i booked a cabin and a tent site right next to each other, as soon as we arrived we were getting weird looks from the staff. also we stood for 2 nights and both nights they threatened to kick us out for talking too loud. no music, no yelling, no arguing, just simple conversations.finally on the morning of our checkout we had 2 hours left and they refused to let my kids in the pool. UNLESS YOU ARE WHITE DO NOT GO TO THIS CAMPGROUND. THEY DONT WANT YOU THERE AND WONT HESITATE TO SHOW YOU THAT!

We were very happy upon arrival as we saw many very nice amenities, like a beautiful lake, nice pool and splash pad, mini golf, and an ice cream shop. But beware Site 41 and all surrounding sites in that loop! Route 2 is about 30 feet behind that group of sites and the highway noise is RIDICULOUS! We had to holler to each other outside the camper b/c it was so loud. We have a hybrid camper and I only slept 2 hrs b/c of the constant noise. I can’t believe they’ve never erected some kind of sound barrier wall to minimize the noise. They must receive complaints from everyone who stays in those sites. We had to leave early b/c we couldn’t stand it any longer. Because of that, we won’t be returning. It’s a shame, b/c they otherwise seem to have a lot to offer.

Decent general store on the camp grounds, also simple slightly expensive food by the lake. Short drive to Mohegan sun. clean bathrooms/showers, staff was friendly. Some camp sites have zero shade, especially by the water.
