Chelemhá offers excellent hosting and guides, accommodations, food, and of course opportunities to explore the unique cloud forest preserve. Contact them through their website to work out the details of what you would like to do within your visit. For example, from our request, Chelemhá arranged our transportation and a local guide to travel with us. We stayed with a...

We visited Chelemha for just two nights during a tour of Guatemala and Belize. We arrived after the beautiful two and a half hour journey up into the mountains from Biotopo del Quetzal to a warm welcome from Armin, the manager and chef, and from Knut Eisermann from Cayaya Birding who was our fantastic guide for our stay there. Before...

Luckily, I decided on a short notice to go to that beautifully located place and I was very much enjoying my stay at Chelemha lodge. If you love nature, you have to go there. For me it was the perfect place to calm down and to value the slow way of life away from the noisy cities with their poor...

Wonderful location, admirable wood construction, very special care from Armin regarding hosting and the quality and quantity of food. A place to contemplate, heal and strengthen. Lucky to be able to visit this place.

This is not a usual hotel to review.. This is more like an experience. Let's start with getting there. It's really really way out in the mountains.. You go about 2.5 hours on dirt roads (4x4) and slowly 'services' start to disappear. No more phone signal, no electricity. However, upon arriving you encounter the perfect 'comfort' for a place like...

If you're looking for a place to literally get away from everything and relax, this it it! The atmosphere is so relaxing and the entire experience is top notch. For the adventurer I'd recommend trekking in; it definitely gives a great appreciation of the quality of the lodge!

I spent three nights in this place and I really loved it! No TV, no mobile phone and no need at all for both! Just you, yourself and NATURE. And maybe a few other guests, your personal nature(birding) guide and, of course, Armin -your host- taking so perfectly care of you! And after a long day's walking in the forest...

By having only moderate expectations prior to arrival in Chelemha, my wife and I were swept away by the beauty of the forest and people. We chose Guatemala as our honeymoon destination, traveling for 17 days. The first and best place we visited on our journey was Chelemha. The accommodations were extraordinary in a serene setting. The guide from the...

In my 11 years living, traveling and working in Guatemala, I've never stayed at a place as ideal as this. In my opinion, this lodge is the best all round value in any natural area of Guatemala. The food is amazing. The lodge is spotlessly clean. The trails are well maintained. A few days ago, the lodge began to offer...

We spent two wonderful days in this glorious place in the cloud forest. A friend from Coban was our escort: 4x4 wheel driver, birding/trail guide, and translator. The 3 hour drive from Coban was an adventure in itself. Once at the lodge we discovered a beautifully and immaculately crafted building. Armand had floral arrangements in the dining and living areas....

We are glad you have enjoyed your visit to Chelemhá and we thank you for your nice review describing your personal experience in the forest and the lodge. We are pleased to inform there is electricity at the Chelemhá Lodge since July 2012 thanks to a small hydroelectric power plant, and batteries can be charged now in the dinning area....

“Only four rooms available, all in the main house so I don't think there is any difference. It is better to go as a group, that way you kind of have the 'house' to yourself.”
