As frequently noted this location is great. Close to restaurants, shops and a comfortable walk, even carrying skis, to Gondola One. We also found the bus stop near Solaris a great option to go right to Lionshead. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The breakfast is good and very convenient when you want to hit the slopes early. While the rooms will benefit by the upcoming changes we find them comfortable and clean.

I just got back from staying 4 days in the penthouse apartment. The remodel is exquisite! The new ownership is doing a great job of keeping the charm that we have come to know from the Sitzmark with the modern amenities and finishings of a 5 start resort. I can't wait to come back when the rest of the hotel finished its remodel!

We Had a great stay at this cool, boutique hotel in Vail. The Location was amazing and the updated lobby was comfortable and welcoming. We were able to walk everywhere and the staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was a nice surprise! I will definitely be back.

I chose to stay here due to the location in the village---great spot! The breakfast was good: yogurt, fresh pastries, cottage cheese (?), and coffee was only available in the morning. Fresh cookies at 4 in the afternoon. The rooms are old- very old- and quite overpriced for what they are. The new owners are planning a property revision in the spring, so the rooms should look tremendously better. Housekeeping was extraordinary!

Hotel is in a great location but that’s not enough to makeup for the misses. In particular, do not stay here if you expect your hotel to have Wifi! The wifi does NOT work, devices get kicked off every few minutes. The hotel’s excuses are idiotic— it’s the mountains, a lot of guests must be using Netflix, it depends on the number of devices, it will go off and on. I’ve stayed at over 10 other hotels in Vail/Lionshead and these lies are just that. No other properties have such issues. The entire village is wired for wifi. Instead, the only logical explanation is that the hotel’s ownership has chosen to cut corners and not pay for better wifi. Only wish I knew before prepaying for a hotel room. Wifi in 2023 is as basic as electricity, but not here.

Room Tip: Don’t expect wifi. Being your own water bottle (or expect to drink out of small plastic cups)....

This is my 3rd trip to Vail and my 3rd stay at Sitzmark, and this is the only place I want to stay in Vail! The location is phenomenal! The babbling creek is on one side, and the front faces the bustling shopping and dining hot spots. Twice, I was there when there was a market/festival, and it was right in front of the lobby. Very cool. It's also a very short walk to Gondola 1, which is key. Also, I love the new lobby! I can't wait to go back and chill in the lobby with a cocktail at the indoor/outdoor bar. The people I've interacted with at the hotel seemed genuinely interested in making my stay memorable. They made great recommendations and offered to set everything up! Which is so appreciated. I love the relaxed local vibe with a luxury twist. This is my go-to in Vail, and I only wish there were more Sitzmarks out there!

As a long time repeat guest I was floored to see that the room type I stayed in March 2023 will cost over 50% more this winter. Sadly the long term owners sold the Sitzmark last year and the new owners are missing no opportunity to squeeze their loyal guests. Not to mention of course is the fact that the rooms have not been renovated although I’m told the tiny lobby is being updated, Time to move on.

Never will I stay at this hotel. I had reservations that I booked through Booking.com. We had unexpected change in arrival date by one day. The hotel said they have rooms available and can accommodate us but will charge me an additional $100 for a change fee. I do not understand why it warranted a change fee. They were unwilling to waive it. Not to mention the price of the room had reduced from the time I booked it and I wasn't asking for a price reduction. Just simply changing the date by one day. I will not do business with a hotel that cannot be more accommodating when something comes up that you need to make a change in your travel. Be very aware of hotel policy.

If you want to teach your children what goes down at a frat house, and teach them what certain words mean. This is the place. No respect for there guests. The children of the owner have made this place there frat house and its repulceing. My family has been coming here for decades and now, under new manage ment the owner has bought the hotel for his kids own frat house.

We had a two night reservation over Easter weekend and unfortunately had a family member diagnosed with cancer with a sad prognosis. I called the hotel a week before our reservation to see if we could cancel the reservation or move it to a different date. second message for the manager to call, ended with no call back. As we all know, exceptions can always be made and I find it appalling how unsympathetic the hotel and the manager was and would not even offer to change our dates for a stay at a different time. The hotel could easily sell the room to someone else but declined to do so. Please support us and boycott the Sitzmark hotel the next time you think of staying there as they have no empathy for their guests!
