We just returned from another wonderful 7 day stay at Lodge at Lionshead, our second time this year and 6th stay since 2016! It never disappoints. We always stay in a platinum 2 bedroom, 2 bath and have ample room and comfort. Housekeeping was scheduled for Saturday and was completed while we were enjoying hiking at Eagles Nest. Everything was immaculate upon our return. On our departure day we were able to stay until noon as our flight home wasn’t until after 5pm and the unit was not booked that day. We so look forward to next year and another great stay at our home away from home!

We were extremely disappointed in ROOM 204 at the Lodge at Lionshead. It was supposed to be the highest level -- Platinum. The two bathrooms were original from the 1970's, I'm sure. The toilet was so low I thought it was for children. The jacuzzi tub was difficult to get into for a shower because it was so high. With no grab bars to hold onto, the flimsy shower door was the only thing to steady yourself as you climbed in. The shower head was disgusting. On day two, I used the other bathroom which was for our guest, and discovered that shower head was even worse -- it sprayed all over. The furniture in the bedrooms was overly large to the point of needing to walk sideways past a very large dresser in order to get to the other side of the bed. The 2nd floor living space was roomy, but the two leather chairs were so old, you sunk down, nearly to the floor. There was very little padding in them. We took pillows off the couch to sit on. The pull out couch was so deep you needed a couple of pillows to sit there. In other words, there was no where to sit comfortably to have a conversation, read a book or watch tv. Overall, the decor was very dated and definitely not a Platinum experience. For the price we paid, we really expected a nicer place with usable bathrooms.

Thank you for taking the time to put your thoughts into words. I’m so sorry you were so disappointed, and that we didn’t have the chance to make your stay more comfortable while you were here. Unit 204 is rated a platinum by an independent agency, but the bathrooms are in need of remodeling and we are trying to get this work completed. Contractors have been difficult to find and Covid has made it almost impossible, but this project continues to be a top priority. We had not been made aware of an issue with the shower heads, so thank you for bringing that to our attention. I have alerted our maintenance staff, so they can take care of it. Your feedback regarding the furnishings is also very helpful, and I will take your comments directly to the owner since each condo is individually owned. We often don't know that there are issues until we hear about them from our guests, so again, thank you for letting us know. I hope you will consider giving us another chance to find the perfect condo at Lodge at Lionshead for you. If you’d like to come again, please contact our general manager, Joy, directly, and she will take care of you.

I have stayed here many times and each time is consistently great! Easy check in-more like friends welcoming you home! Cozy, fully functional accommodations with literally every single thing you need! We spent some time at the pool-quiet, woodsy and perfect in every way! It felt like our own pool! Lovely place, perfect location, consistently fantastic stay! Can’t imagine a better place to stay!

I share this two sided review of our stay at Lodge at Lionshead for fellow travelers, as the online pictures do and do not show the true details of the rooms. We booked Lodge—again, as repeat patrons—for our 50th wedding anniversary, and booked both a diamond studio for the two of us and a two bedroom platinum condo for our son and his two children. Diamond Studio—500 sq ft. of horribly cramped space, with a shower barely wide enough to turn around in, narrow staircase up to “the loft,” and tiptoe space between the queen bed upstairs and the rail or ½ bath. There were no chests or closets on the main floor, no dresser, etc. but there was a small hot water closet on the main floor where we ended up trying to arrange some clothing. There was a small chest in the walking area above in the loft where some might be able to put a few clothing items, but it had to be moved in order to have enough walking room to go around the bed to the bathroom. The kitchen is NOT equipped, has only a minifridge, and the trays of silverware and utensils were stuck up in a cabinet with the dishes. If one planned to cook anything, the trays themselves would take up the small cabinet and counter space. If one pulled out the main level bed, the furniture in the room had to be rearranged or stacked on top of pieces to make room for the pull out bed—which, by the way, had to be made with the sheets provided. There were no pillows or blanket for the bed downstairs as well. It may look attractive online, but no amount of modern art or seating can compensate for a tiny, cramped living space with no storage amenities for folks wanting to stay a few days. All total, it was a disastrous beginning to a celebration, and after one night we cancelled. Flip Side I asked the front desk to see if there were any other larger accommodations for our two person stay. The answer was “no.” The Platinum Two Bedroom Condo—we rented this condo for our son, wife and two grandchildren. The thought was that we would be there or out enjoying Vail most of the time. After much debate, my husband and son decided that we would share this condo with them, as there were two bedrooms ( one master, one with a queen and bunk beds, and a pullout leather couch in the main living area, and two full bathrooms with a huge master shower. The kitchen was indeed fully stocked, the living area was spacious, there were tv’s in both bedrooms and the main floor, and the location was an easy walkout to the heated pool area. There was a small deck and gas grill outside as well, which we definitely enjoyed. The entrance to the room was down the stairs and a bit awkward, but immediately there was a landing area that had plenty of wall hooks for hats, visors, shoes, etc., and a stackable washer and dryer. Bingo! We moved our things, shared the spacious accommodations, and had more time with the grandkids. The staff was accommodating to our move, and only charged us for the one night stay in the studio even though our decision to move came after the checkout time the following day. We were also able to keep our allotted parking space—one space per rental. The fee was immediately refunded when the studio keys were returned. They were gracious and understanding, and our request for fresh towels and trash were honored. Things to know: 1. Buses require masks. Nothing else there does. 2. Housekeeping is once every 5 days, which we managed to qualify for. Staff will give the resident a check-in sheet which has the day of the housekeeping outline, but beware!! Residents are asked to be absent when housekeeping arrives. We left early one morning for rafting, and returned late that afternoon thinking housekeeping would be done. The room had not been touched, and it had been over 8 hrs. since we had left that morning. So we cancelled the housekeeping, asked for fresh towels, took the overflowing recycle and trash bins out to the deck, and let it go. There were also no coffee packs or hot chocolate refills for the kitchen. Maybe a small note for some, but when 6 people are living under one roof it helps to tidy up a bit when on vacation. 3. There’s a small market store right around the corner of the Lodge, but most of our groceries—esp meat—came from Safeway. 4. Farmer’s Market on Sunday is a must event—food, favors, etc. It’s crowded Staff (esp.Kady!!) was helpful in helping me find a restaurant on Sat. July 10th to have a celebration diner. Other restaurants, and this is three weeks before our arrival, wanted a credit card, an additional fee, and a 24 hr. cancellation policy. We had dinner at a place called Up The Creek, and it was excellent. Grandkids had their first taste of bison and elk. Yum! So thank you Kady!! Also, the rafting company recommended was really good, esp. in a year when the water levels in the Col. River are low due to smaller amount of snow. The rafting company was Timberline Tours, and provided transportation if needed. Gondola and upper area—we’ve been to Vail before, but they have added quite a few “kiddie” attractions up the mountain at Eagle’s Nest. There’s a small kiddie zipline, inner tube rides, --kiddie and adult-- roller coaster rides, a climbing wall, a jumping bungee jump area, and restaurants and restrooms as well as dirt bike paths for the adventuresome. Well worth the trip. Creek—Gore Creek runs right along the Lodge walking path. You can set up chairs, dip your toes or body into the creek, and walk back to the room and call it an adventure.

I'm so sorry your stay got off to a rough start. Certainly not the way you wanted to start your anniversary celebration! We take feedback like this very seriously and I have passed yours along to our general manager and housekeeping manager. While we can't make the Diamond Studio Loft any larger, we can come up with better storage solutions and make sure there are extra pillows and blankets for the pull out sofa. The kitchenette does have a minifridge/ freezer, compact oven and microwave - the first two which don't allow for drawers to house silverware as you mentioned. We are trying to find a better solution for that along with other kitchen supplies, so that the kitchenette will be easier to navigate. Once again, thank you for bringing all of this to our attention, so we can make the experience more user-friendly for the future. I am glad you enjoyed the stay in the 2 bedroom condo for the remainder of your vacation and hope you had a wonderful anniversary in Vail. Our general manager would be happy to work with you directly to find the perfect condo for you the next time you come to Colorado. I do hope you'll give us the opportunity to make your next stay a wonderful one.

Stayed with my wife and two twenty something sons. Everyone had a very comfortable bed and the unit was quite nice. We really enjoyed the easy walking access to all of Vail Village and Lionshead. The river walk access was excellent The pool and hot tub were fantastic.
