This year marks or third annual summer get away to the Sonnenalp. The hotel staff is friendly, accommodating and makes us feel like valued guests. Our room (a junior suite overlooking the creek was comfortable, well furnished and quiet, All in all, a great place to relax and unwind and enjoy the Colorado mountains in the summer.
The staff at the Sonnenalp was very cordial and the room (king with a balcony) was nice, clean and overlooked Vail Village, which offered great views. The room was clean and the staff left water, ice and cookies every afternoon. The one thing missing was a charging station for phones and I had to use the bathroom outlets and the outlet by the desk, which wasn’t as convenient at night. The alarm clock was plugged into an outlet turned on/off by a light switch and I finally figured it out by day two. :) Ludwig’s breakfast was delicious and lunch at Bully Ranch was good although service was slow due to understaffed conditions. I ordered room service one evening for dinner and the food was good although the side of fries weren’t as warm as I would have liked but the chicken was a good temperature. I recommend staying here given the great service and location.…
Aside from having a perfect location at any time of year, their staff from valet parking to front desk to restaurants are knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful! We looked at their beautiful spa and hope to try their services n our next visit.
We had a great time at the Sonnenalp Hotel. We loved the heated bathroom floors, the view from our balcony, the easy-to-turn-on fireplace, and the quiet AC. The beds and sheets were comfortable. Every staff member we met was pleasant, helpful, and efficient. Our meal at the Swiss Chalet was terrific and we liked the team approach to serving (I highly recommend the raclette). All the bartenders at Bully Ranch restaurant (which we visited several times) were fast and nice to chat with, and we found the room rates and restaurant prices quite reasonable. Overall, one of our favorite hotels ever.
The Sonnenalp Hotel was perfect for our 40th Anniversary weekend. The staff, accommodations, concierge, food, restaurants, spa, everything was awesome. We enjoyed our stay and will be back. We would recommend staying at the Sonnenalp to anyone wanting a top notch stay while in Vail.
We have stayed here 2 times and both times have been absolutely wonderful. The beds are so comfortable, the rooms are lovely, and the hotel has such a special vibe, with so many personal touches. The staff is very international so you are always being greeted by staff from all over the world. Also the staff are all delightful and so helpful. We can’t wait to come back!
Hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Birthday cake and champagne delivered to the room was an unexpected bonus. Short convenient walk to everything Vail has to offer. Pool area was beautiful as well. Highly recommend!
The hotel was absolutely incredible. The service was superb, the staff attentive to our needs and requests. The room was extremely comfortable and inviting. The restaurant and food was all we could ask for. The concierge staff was extremely helpful and enhanced our experience at the hotel. We will definitely be making a return visit.
We have traveled to Vail the past several Septembers. The weather is beautiful, the crowds are down, easier to get dinner reservations. …. And a great time to stay at the Sonnenalp. We enjoyed the fabulous buffet breakfast each morning . Had a lovely facial at the spa Enjoyed a very nice dinner at the Swiss Chalet. There will be a hefty resort fee added to your bill 😖
We recently stayed at the Sonnenalp and had our wedding on property as well. The property is stunning and working with Lauren from Sales and Catering was great! The wedding site was on their terrace with all glass windows and roof that opened to a view of the creek and Vail mountains in the background! During our stay we had a delicious meal at the Bully Ranch with the best burger I’ve had in a long time. You have to try the specialty mudslide drink! My wife and her bridesmaids had a wonderful time relaxing at the spa and pool! The rooms are cozy with robes, a fireplace, and heated bathroom floors! Later at night, we had a cocktail at the Kings Club bar/lounge and danced to a live musician performing! It was so much fun! I will definitely be recommending the Sonnenalp as a place to stay when visiting Vail!…
