I very much enjoyed my stay because it reminded me of Germany with all the quirks of a European hotel. But that means no AC or in wall fan. There is a free standing fan in the closet for your use. And although i liked the food very much, it was served in a tent attached to the building. Not cozy... More

Room was so noisy, we were woken up at 1:40 am with people screaming in the streets and the room occupants next to us yelling off the balcony that people are trying to sleep. We should have known when earplugs were provided on the nightstand. The breakfast was meh, pastries and cold cuts ?? But the building is iconic, full... More

To me, Gasthof Gramshammer IS Vail. Pepi's restaurant great for lunch/dinners, too. Great location, history, and charm. European feel in the Colorado Rockies. The family, Sheika and Pepi, are still involved in the ownership and management. They truly make us feel special to stay there. Seems like they still care. If you like large Las Vegas type bathrooms, may want... More

Reminded me of when I was in Switzerland ski towns. Great atmosphere. Beautiful room. Quaint and quiet. Great customer service. Easy check in and check out. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Fall is a wonderful time of year in Vail.

How can you beat staying at the most famous hotel in Vail, boasting comfy rooms, great food , a fantastic staff, golden aspens and a warm welcome from Pepi himself. I've always wanted to stay here and, having scheduled a fall hike with my sister visiting from out-of-state, I found a more than reasonable rate. So fun to be in... More

Recently spent one night in Vail. The location of this hotel is a little difficult to find but well worth the trouble. Great quiet place in a fantastic location. The room was very nice with possibly the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel. The complimentary continental was just like being in Europe. A really great place.

Prompt service, very friendly staff, central location. Outside or inside seating, choice of shade or sun outside. We had the house salad and the Cobb salad which both came up to expectation. Only downside was the intermittent noise from the nearby building site.

Have been to Vail many, many times...first time at Gramshammer though... Positive: 1) Sara, one of the front desk ladies...at every encounter she was super pleasant. When we discovered that there was no fridge in either of our rooms, she not only offered one in each of the two rooms, BUT Sara herself and I mean all by herself delivered... More

The room was nice and big however the noise from the street was a little bit of a bummer. They were in the process of remodeling the bar but I can tell you as a person who grew up in a German household, the breakfast was spot on and traditional. The restaurant, although expensive but on par for anything in... More

Centrally located in vail. Room is space and there's a big deck to enjoy the scenery. Breakfast is okay. Small parking garage, don't try an suv in it. Would have liked a small fridge. Staff is friendly and helpful.
