The Wren is located on the edge of Vail Village. Once you park, you really don't need to use your car again unless you want to! Restaurants, the lifts, and shopping are all within easy walking distance. The Betty Ford Gardens and Ford Ampitheater are close by. All rooms have balconies with great views! Rooms are well appointed with separate bathroom and bedroom, plus full kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Love this place for a vacation!!!
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and we loved our view of the mountain. It is an easy walk to Vail Village and there is also a shuttle for skiers. While Vail has great food, we were able to cook our meals in the kitchen. Very convenient.
Nice sized rooms and great pool area. Close to town (walking distance) and many trails nearby. Skiing is essentially right outside. We went in the offseason though, which was still nice for hiking. Short drive to Safeway and about 90 minutes to Denver. A few small complaints or comments, but overall very nice place. 1. The bed was very stiff and the pillows were oversized body ones. Not comfortable to me and it was rough on my back/neck but maybe others would like that? Personal preference I guess. Also not sure why I could hear the highway and pool activities in my room, even in the October off season. Place was nowhere near capacity and the noise was still an issue. Could be VERY loud in peak season I'd assume 2. Instead of using tape on the sofa to cover a huge rip, just get a new sofa or get it repaired right. It looks poor and cheap that you have tape on leather. 3. If you're getting international travel during Covid regulations, front desk staff should know where to get tested and/or have information to let guests save time and feel safe. We had to call multiple clinics and hospitals in the area to try and get info so we could be tested to leave on a flight. If management has that info for their staff, they can help us easily instead of making each guests call on their own and look for info. Be a resource for your people. Customer service. Still a 4/5 though and I would go again.…
This is my first time to Vail in non-Winter (been many times in the Winter). I booked this thru Vail.com for the Oktoberfest and just to see it in the warm months. Definitely enjoyed the hotel. Very well equipment. We had a 1 bedroom + loft with 2 baths. Layout is a bit strange, probably because it's an older building. But we faced the mountain and really enjoyed the balcony for the 2 nights we stayed. Kitchen seemed very well equipment, though we only used the fridge. If we had been there longer we would have used the pool & hot tub. Would definitely stay here again.
We were pleased with every aspect of The Wren. Excellent location between Betty Ford Aspen Gardens to Vail Village. The units are updated and the location of the pool, spas, grills are convenient to all units. We had a wonderful month in beautiful surroundings. Will be back.
We recently stayed at the Wren this summer, during the GoPro Mountain Games. First, we booked in the fall of 2019, then the pandemic hit 2020 and the games were postponed. I called to try and cancel, as we did not know when they would reschedule nor if we would be able to go. However, we were told too bad, policy is in place and you will lose your $365 deposit. No breaks, no discount, just told no, but we can rebook to a later date. So we hoped that we could make the next games. The games were rescheduled two more times, and each time we were told no. Finally, we stayed with the Wren to save our $365 and went spring 2021. Before arriving, we called twice to check the height of the parking garage, so we could determine which vehicle to drive, as our truck is quite tall. Both times we were told 10' and over. We arrived to find out that the one spot we got (for a 3 bd condo, which is ridiculous to offer only one parking spot for a 3 bd!), in the parking garage we would not fit... the height is 6'8", (we needed 7' 6"). We were not apologized to, and were told we could park at the parking garage for the city down the street! After my husband told her no thanks, it's your fault as you told us we would fit and cant, you need to do something, she "volunteered" to move her own car out of a guest spot so we could park there! And then complained that over the weekend she would park at the local garage so we could have the guest spot... it's for GUESTS!!! NOT employees... part of the price!!!! Our bathroom fan did not work, and the noise from the interstate was loud and woke us up all night, so we found a box fan and propped it up in the window to dampen that noise. A window in the second bedroom had a crank that was stripped out, so it couldn't be opened or closed more, and the second window didn't open either. Mattresses lumpy and need to be replaced. The unit was clean, but it does need to be updated and is in need of repairs. When we checked out, I told the front desk of the repairs, and they were scribbled on a sheet,... two other people were also there checking out and had similar complaints. No apologies. No extra offers for the inconvenience. We will NOT stay there again nor recommend it. So sad.…
Lots of small problems, like broken small appliances, but the view makes up for it all. I've got a lot of tips for you: Some may be concerned that there is no table/chairs, and only a bar counter and small kitchen,-- but it had supplies for I think 8 people, plus oven & big frig. And it seemed like I had a murphy bed & sofa bed (I didnt open it up). I was lucky to get the top floor with the giant windows onto the mtn view; and it was heaven. The bed was giant king and comfy/soft and 4 huge pillows. Bathroom small but everything you need, but bulbs were WAY too bright. Inside and out is all a warm comfy tan or brown color, incl. the couch; but some others consider that old fashion. They have prominent recycle bins! Staff friendly, but unable to recommend a variety of places, but pick up the tourist booklet. Underground parking! and you can unload at the first floor door & use elevator. Nice pool, but I didnt use it, but others did despite the cold weather. I was there the week everything skiing closed down in April - I loved the peace & quiet but almost every restaurant closed down!! Catch the ski museum; lots of fascinating history. - I give it 5 stars because of the view! …
We absolutely adored our stay at the Wren. Perfect location - a quick walk to Vail Village by the creek or on the road -- steps from Betty Ford Park and the Alpine Gardens. Great apartment with comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. We hope to return.
The Wren runs very frequent shuttles to Golden Peak from which one can access all of Vail’s slopes. Our unit, no. 409 was handsomely furnished, had a fair amount of food essentials, olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, soaps etc; so one did not have to furnish provisions from scratch. Views extended toward the slopes; the bedroom faced the rear, and, at times during the night, truck traffic was disturbing. I would definitely recommend the condo we stayed in if you are thinking of skiing Vail.
The location was wonderful! It's situated right along Gore Creek and next door to Betty Ford Alpine Gardens with lots of walking paths available. It's not very close to restaurants or supermarkets. There are heated hot tubs and a heated outdoor pool on site. The unit was nice. The bed was very comfortable. There was no salt or pepper in the kitchen, so I was glad I had brought my own. At the supermarkets in Vail, you need to bring your own bags or you are charged for each bag. The Wren provided a cloth bag for my use which I really appreciated!
