I really wanted to like this place...great location and friendly staff....it was pretty dumpy though. Dark, 1970's decor. The rooms were dingy and the furniture was crap. I can appreciate the "lodge" feel, but this was just old and outdated. Moved rooms twice trying to find something acceptable. What I was delivered was not as represented via the Vail website. The staff did work hard to find us a better room. The first room they tried to put us in was just plain ridiculous. The next option was a bit better...by the third option we were just tired of paying the bellmen to move our bags. I hate to say it, but I won't stay there again...and I would be hesitant to stay at a different RockResorts property in the future.

Stayed at the lodge with a friend in a "premier two bedroom residence" (405) for five nights at a cost of $5,9951.19 (including four day ski passes for two) from March 1st to 6th or about $1,200 a night. The lodge has the best location in Vail Village. The premier two bedroom residence had a very nice kitchen, dining and living area. The view was somewhat disappointing: not looking onto Vail mountain until you were right against the window and looked to the right. The more disappointing feature was that one of the two bedrooms is an "inside" room. The window looks... into the living room. The bathroom is not ensuite. That room was very stuffy with the door closed. Both bathrooms had tiny toilets adjoining small tub/shower combinations. I had stayed several times in the Lodge's luxury rooms which have much nicer bathrooms (that is the room I will choose again). Concierge told us that on the mountain reservations could only be made at 7 AM the same day, which turned out to be wrong.

Room Tip: Pick the luxury rooms, probably the only ones with less than forty year old bathrooms.

Just wanted to thank all at the Lodge at Vail who helped make our stay a truly enjoyable experience. Every employee went out of there way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. A special shout out to Benjamin, the manager who went above and beyond, the friendly and kind front desk staff, servers at both Elways and Cucina, concierge and valets. Can't beat the location and the service received. Plus the back bowls of Vail - we will be back!

My husband and I stayed in an Economy Studio for 5 nights during ski season. The economy studio was perfect for us. It's one bigger living room with a pull down Murphy bed, a full kitchen, and full size bathroom. Perfect for two people who are in Vail to ski and snowboard. The wood burning fireplace was lovely and it was nice that wood was provided outside the door. The pool was warm, the hot tub was super relaxing. The Lodge at Vail is well located by the slopes - steps away from Gondola One that takes you up to Mid Vail. Also, great location in the village - you can walk to shops, restaurants, and bars. We walked over to the Lionshead area and I'm glad we stayed in the village as there seems to be more restaurants and bars in the village. We really had a great time - thanks The Lodge!

I had the pleasure to stay at The Lodge at Vail in December 2020. This resort exceeded my expectations. I wanted to ski and snow mobile and this resort come very handy when it comes to the fun on the slopes. If you want to ski, you just need to walk out of the resort towards the back and there you are in the village. Plenty of restaurants and ski rentals, shops, and more. The hotel concierge was very helpful and kind to help us book our snow mobile tour. I want to thank the valet personnel for taking us to a restaurant on their hotel vehicle and back to the hotel. For a tasty steak I highly recommend El way’s restaurant, and right across this place there’s another restaurant I also recommend for a delicious breakfast—both on site. I am very satisfied with my stayed! I would like to thank the General Manager Kate Grattan for provided me with such a tremendous guest satisfaction.
