Where to begin.....unable to go to sleep the first night b/c I could hear our neighbors t.v. like it was in our room....awoke the next morning before my alarm to another neighbors rhythmical squeeky bed. Stepped outside and noticed that one of the Roosts' buildings had collapsed! Luckily, noone was inside.....really wanted to use the hot tub but found that... More

Do Not Stay Here. We go up to Vail frequently for ski weekends and have stayed at the Roost for economy during busy season. During our last stay we were bitten by bed bugs and I am just hoping we didn't bring any home with us.... The management was terrible about returning my phone calls regarding the complaint. We will... More

In November 06, I called to get a quote on a room for the beginning of February 07, I was quoted a really good price, maybe to good to be true, I asked about cancellation policy, due to my vacation plans were not concrete yet. The person I was talking to never mentioned the $25 cancellation fee, because I would... More

My brother has lived and worked in Vail for 2 years. Decided that the whole family (our parents included) would take a trip out from Ohio to visit and ski for week. Another brother joined us from CA. In the past my brother said the Roost was a bare bones but clean place. Yikes! Our room was excruciatingly small, my... More

Yes Vail is expensive, but this "cheaper" place is just that CHEAP. It is dirty, smelly, scary, etc. Got there late and didn't have much choice at that point. Do yourself a favor a go elsewhere and pay extra. It is old construction and you can hear everyone walk outside and the rooms next door. No real amenities beyond TV,... More

we went to the roost lodge twice before when the previous owners run it. It was brilliant. Went back a year later, sooo dirty left the first night, dirty sheets, dirty floor, dirty drawings on the windows(which could be seen because of the cold condensation on the windows)dirty floors, didn,'t bother to check out the bathroom, scared what we might... Where to start. The thermostat would not turn down. It was sweltering. The door and windows had to be open to keep from melting. but you couldnt do that for long because 30 yards away is I-70 which sounded like a freight train and an airport runway together all night long. the (ahem, cough) food in the morning is nothing...
