I am reviewing the restaurant, which I highly recommend. Almost all the seats have a view of the mountains of Twin Lakes which complements the rustic appearance of the building. The food was delicious: pan-seared duck (lots of it!) and stuffed trout. My husband had been looking forward to the fish and really enjoyed it. (They had run out of walleye just as we were seated.) Our dessert was blueberry pana cotta which was light and rich at the same time. Our drinks were just right and the waitress was both chatty and efficient. We were exhausted by flying all day and changing time zones, and the restaurant at Twin Lakes Inn was just the right way to end the day.

My husband and I just returned from our third stay at the Twin Lakes Inn this year. Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable (heat works beautifully). We had a good view and our own bathroom. We ate in the on-site restaurant two of the nights and had two great meals. The cooks are the best and the waitresses fun and efficient. Andy, as always, was helpful and friendly. We can't wait to get back there.

@BobandJuan... So good to welcome you both back for another visit. Thank you for also highlighting the great work of our friendly, people-pleasin' staff, from the front desk to housekeeping and from the kitchen to our stay-safe table service. Remember that we're staying open for Fri-Sat-Sun services even after Indy Pass closes for the season. We hope you can visit us in the season we like to call TWIN-ter!

We’ve stayed at the Inn twice now and we’ve had nothing but great experiences! It’s conveniently located a short drive to the Mt. Elbert South Trailhead. Andy, the innkeeper is warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, weather, and hiking conditions. The Inn staff is friendly and accommodating to their guests by helping make dinner arrangements in the restaurant and providing grab and go breakfast and other options for early hikers if needed. Our room and bathroom were sparkling clean and comfortable and exactly what we needed after an exhausting day in the mountains. Finally, the restaurant is a great place to have some delicious food and some drinks after a long day in the great outdoors. Thank you for the fantastic hospitality, Twin Lakes Inn. We will absolutely be back! -Amanda & Joe

I had driven by Twin Lakes Inn with mild curiosity for years on my way to "bag a peak" or raft the river. I had a hunch it would be the perfect place to get away for a few days with a friend this summer. I sunk into the experience right away with the comfort of a super friendly staff, great food and service and a cozy, quaint room surrounded by little bits of history. The inn itself has an inviting, relaxing vibe and we felt right at home. The activities around the area are plenty. We ran, hiked and rented some paddle boards a few feet out the front door for a pristine day on the lake. The views are unbeatable and plentiful. I hesitate to make the place too popular, because I want to be sure I get a room the next time I'm in town! If you want a place near some 14ers, some fishing or boating, or just to be with the mountains and some friendly people, I highly recommend!

First, this is Twin Lakes, Colorado. Adjust your expectations. Tiny, rustic, a base camp for outdoor adventure. The Twin Lakes Inn is perfect. My room was comfortable, clean, furnished attractively, and complete with supplies and goodies we have learned not to expect. Andrew at the front desk is a Twin Lakes guru. You can ask him anything. Breakfast snacks and coffee each morning push this 1879 inn over the edge of excellence. I will return!

My husband and I just spent two nights at the Twin Lakes Inn in Twin Lakes Village, Colorado. The Inn had just reopened as allowed by the State of Colorado. They had taken a great deal of care to make sure that all was extremely clean and that social distancing was easy. We were upgraded to a room with bath as there was only one other guest. All was extremely comfortable and the food in the on site restaurant was top notch. Andy, the host, was more than accommodating in every way. The village is very historic and Andy provided a good map of the houses in town with pertinent information.

Thank you for staying and dining with us as we resumed in-person hospitality while closely following CDC, state and county guidelines. As one of the first to stay with us since health officials approved us to welcome guests back to our restaurant and inn we also greatly appreciate your comments that reinforce the work we're doing and that can give comfort and peace of mind to others. Please continue to travel safely and visit us again when you return to Twin Lakes Colorado.

Randomly found Twin Lakes Inn when I was looking for a place to stay between the Sand Dunes and Glennwood Springs. This historical place is at the base of Mount Elbert and offers a great stopping point before driving Independence Pass. The staff was incredible and extremely friendly. Its was a great way for us to step away from the standard hotel chains and discover a true Colorado experience. One of the owners took time to help us find the most scenic route to Glennwood Springs and then to Estes Park. He even showed up the next morning and had it all planned out before we left. If you are looking for a truly original experience then this is the place for you. I cannot imagine how unbelievable this experience would be in the snow fall. Our only regret is that we did not visit the General Store next door. This place is highly recommended.

I also reviewed the restaurant, but the Inn itself is very nice. It was clean and comfortable. The building is obviously VERY old but well maintained. Our room was furnished with antiques and rustic items, the attached bath was well stocked with good towels and everything else we needed (and then some!). The manager, Andy, was very nice and a pleasure to talk with. He said they are closing soon for winter but I would highly recommend this place - both for an overnight and dinner. Excellent stay all around

Thank you, "K & C", for staying and dining with us during your travels in and around Twin Lakes Colorado. We appreciate the details you've shared to help others. And it gives us a chance to correct our own misstatement about our seasonal hours. While we have been closed during winter over the past 5 years, this year we've decided to stay open (and we just have to remember to tell guests about this change... duh!). Here's the real scoop... Our lodging will remain open nightly while Indy Pass remains open. Once the pass closes, we'll shift to Fri-Sat-Sun night lodging all fall/winter. In fact, we've even given a special nickname to this new season: TWIN-ter! And we look forward to being the official hotel of TWIN-ter in Twin Lakes. We hope you can come see us again soon.
