We had an excellent brunch here. Service was quite good but the food was great, for brunch. Tables were well separated due to COVID-19. Good choices for brunch. Make a reservation because there are fewer tables now due to social distancing.

I've been visiting and staying at the New Sheridan hotel usually twice a year for the last 5 years. Once in the winter and once in the summer. But after my last experience which occurred last week, I feel compelled to write this review. The rooms are incredibly cozy and comfortable. While there is no air conditioning, popping open the window at night and using the potable evaporative cooler that gets the job done. I'm usually a pretty light sleeper and I'm not sure if it is the high altitude air or how quiet the room was but I sleep like a rock. The bed is also super clean and comfortable almost makes me not want to get up. There is an awesome breakfast opportunity in the lobby where you can get a fantastic Bloody Mary, Eggs Benedict before getting out for the day. The check-in/out process is super smooth aided by Mike, Carl, Bo and Yvette. When I drive in from Denver I'm always greeted with a warm smile, luggage car and parking pass which is nice to know that were always taken care of when arriving. Also your staying at a historic hotel! I think the New Sheridan has been around for a couple hundred years, but feels like I'm staying in a building that was just built a few years ago. I can't wait until my next visit to my second home in Telluride at the New Sheridan Hotel!

Our second visit to the Bar and Grill at the Sheridan did not disappoint. Last time we enjoyed breakfast and this time a late lunch. The onion soup surpassed any we have had before and is an ample lunch in itself. We, however, shared a Reuben sandwich as well. The food and service are among the best in this beautiful mountain town! Try the hot chocolate too. It is de-lish!!!

This historic hotel was one of my first choices when researching good accommodation in central Telluride. We only had one night here (as part of our month long road-trip) and so wanted to stay on the main street to get a feel for the town, and this hotel allowed us to do that. It’s not cheap, but you’re paying for location and plush rooms, which we were happy to relax in. It snowed on our visit (at the end of May) which was a surprise, but it was perfect to watch the snow falling with the view right across main street & the mountains. We booked a room overlooking the street but weren’t bothered with any noise – it was a Tuesday in late May, so wasn’t exactly peak tourist time, and it was relatively quiet on our overnight stay. Parking is a bit tricky, as with the hotel being right on the main street, they don’t have a dedicated parking lot – however, Telluride main street has a middle lane between the traffic lanes for loading/unloading/30 mins parking which you can use to get your bags out of the car & check in. Once you’ve done that, you’ll get a permit for the on-street parking down the side streets around the hotel. We’d already found a pay & display spot at the side street before checking in, so just went back to leave the permit on display for our stay. Check in was friendly & quick, and there’s an elevator up to the rooms. The room was beautiful – old style, antiques, mellow tones, a couple of armchairs & a huge comfy bed. Add to that a small but gorgeous bathroom with underfloor heating and it was perfect. It was chilly when we stayed but the heating worked really well & we had a pleasant sleep. We never took advantage of any breakfast the following day, as usually prefer to set off early & grab something later in the morning en-route to our next stop, but it is available. The hotel has its own restaurant/chop house situated on one side of the lobby downstairs, along with a separate bar on the opposite side of the lobby, so you have a choice for evening drinks. We decided against the in-house restaurant & decided to eat elsewhere (we were looking for somewhere slightly more casual) but did go for a few scoops in the bar. It's dim, atmospheric & all dark wood/brass fittings, so kept the feel of stepping back in time a bit. It was fairly quiet & we got lucky to find a very friendly bartender on shift, who helped us with some choices for beers & bourbon – she was very generous with the pours & we spent a nice couple of hours chatting to her & some other patrons before heading around the corner for some chow. All in all, a great stay at a beautiful hotel which we felt was well worth the extra money. I would stay here in a flash again & definitely recommend it if you are feeling like a nice treat.

This great historic hotel was the perfect spot to stay for our trip to Telluride. The location was wonderful (on the Main Street in the center of town), the free gondola to the mountain village was a 5 min. walk, the rooms are all updated & modernized without losing the charm of a historic place, and the bar/restaurant downstairs were fabulous! They even offer 20% off breakfast & lunch to hotel guests! The old black & white photos on the walls of each floor are super interesting, as are the many pieces of antique furniture and lighting. The rooms are large with a huge walk-in closet, very comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, great lighting, a nice sized bathroom, and good quality amenities. Finally, the entire staff could not have been nicer!
