Luxury night's sleep minus the luxury price. The Rabbit Ears Motel, located in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado, is your choice for comfortable, affordable lodging right in the center of downtown. Either they built Steamboat around our motel, or our motel was conveniently built in the center of all the action. So, both ways, you know that all the activities and nightlife the valley provides are in close proximity. Choose a weekend get-away for the family, or stay with us the whole week. World-class skiing with slope-side ski-in, ski-out convenience is expensive and overrated. Our motel is right on the main street and just a 5 minutes' bus ride to the gondola and the base of the ski area. Oh, and the bus is free. Lastly, all our guests are welcome to get reduced-priced Old Town Hot Springs passes for our recreation center, just across the street.

Perfect place for a teenager and his uncle to ski hard, sleep hard, and chill out in between. Nothing at all wrong with this motel, the sign is from the 1950's but the place has been updated appropriately. Nothing fancy but everything's good. Right out the front door is the last stop on the express bus route to the ski resort (and the first stop on return) which is perfect. Staff is is friendly and available but not intrusive. Rabbit Ears, hope you'll be there another 70 years!

On a trip around the Western Slope our party of three stayed in this unique motel along the Yampa River and directly across the road from the city's Old Town Hot Springs and community health and recreation center . Our balcony overlooked the Yampa, and for most of the night we could keep our windows open to hear it rushing along. Their continental breakfast was spare under the precautions needed during the current plague season, but it was adequate for our appetites. The motel offers discount passes for access to the community hot springs, and provides towels as well as a free tote bag to carry them. . . emblazoned with their cute and goofy rabbit logo, of course. The room was spacious, had the usual motel accommodations and the bedding was of good quality and comfortable. . . sometimes an issue for my wife who has some neck issues. The main building also has spectacularly maintained flowers in planters along its walkways. It is on the edge of the Old Town district of Steamboat Springs and convenient to all kinds of dining. The staff also could advise us on good hiking trails within the city's parks system. All in all I can recommend this as good value and above average for a motel in a pretty upscale tourist destination.

First time I've been back here in some years. Yes, the classic neon Rabbit Ears Motel sign still shines brightly. And it is still the best motel for a casual, short walk to the restaurants, tap rooms, etc. in Steamboat. Plus, for you cyclists, it is right next to the paved bike trail next to the Yampa river. The check-in staff were very friendly and efficient. The room had all the usual and expected "stuff" and was well cleaned. A bonus! - The bathroom had what looked like a recent upgrade with the bath/shower being well designed for once. Why? The shelf for the soap, shampoo was out of the way of the shower spray, so no wet, soggy soap. (One of the best shower enclosure designs I've ever seen.) While COVID protocols were still in place when I visited, they still were able to provide a good but safe breakfast in their spacious dedicated room. The windows to the outside provided fun people watching. And the food supplies were well stocked, with the area being cleaned after each use. A final plus: for a tourist town, the prices were better than the much more distant chain motels.

Located on the main drag of Steamboat Springs within easy walking distance to downtown and to the urban walking trails. Comfortable beds, clean surroundings, and good towels and amenities. A good continental breakfast available in the morning. If possible, get a room that is on the river, suspect rooms close to the road might be noisier. A good place to stay - not fancy, but a lot more than adequate.

Very good motel in an excellent location on edge of Main Street opposite town hot springs. Short walk to the numerous excellent pubs and restaurants in town and right beside bus stop to ski slopes ( some direct so only 10 mins). Rooms decent size and very clean ( we had rooms with balcony overlooking the creek and woods behind the motel). Front of house team very helpful and friendly. Basic buffet breakfast available. The original pink neon rabbit sign made us smile every time we saw it.

Our family loves staying at the Rabbit Ears when we visit Steamboat. The location is fantastic, the staff very friendly, the rooms overlooking the river are pleasant, if a bit outdated (for us this just adds to the character). However, I am always disappointed to see several bags of Styrofoam and plastic cutlery being sent to the landfill after breakfast is served each day. Paper cannot be that much more expensive, and it is the right thing to do. I will up my rating if they switch to paper.

I’m in the bathroom at 8am there is a loud knock on door. I yell” I am in here” but cleaning staff barges in. Apparently they can knock but not listen for a response. So there I am half naked and I tell for them to leave. The cleaning person apologies and then has the never to laugh as she leaves, like I wasn't embarrassed enough. Plus she was no immature kid this was a full grown person who should be able to control her responses...
30m later, I am out at my car packing some of my belongings and when I step back in the room and the cleaning staff are back in there.
I call the front desk to speak to a manager and I get a half-a-- apology. They don’t say they will speak with staff or will train them to listen when they knock, or even to not laugh at their clients who are caught naked in bathroom! All this before 8:30 am and the checkout is not till 11:00 am! Nice location but Beware…

My room was comfortable with easy parking right outside the door. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and I felt safe. The location is easy walking distance to shopping and the Yampa River Core Trail. There's a lot of road noise, but running the fan takes care of it. I would definitely stay here again.

We just had an opportunity to stay here this past weekend. Check in was a breeze and we felt very welcomed. Having never stayed here before we didn't know what to expect. We were in Room 203 and it had a great view of the Howelson Hill and the Yampa River. I can imagine this to be a popular room in the summer time. It had a nice balcony and 2 chairs too. Bathroom had been recently upgraded which was nice and the room was cozy for six people.
Rabbit Ears is directly across the street from Hot Springs that you can go too and swim in and such and there is a Natural Grocer right next door to the motel also. Very walkable to lots of shops and restaurants too. Would definitely stay here again.

I love the boldness of this place to "not conform" to the main stream commercialism.
The room overlooking the river was large and nicely decorated. We left the patio door open slightly and slept to the sounds of bubbling water over the rapids.
Friendly counter people at check-in

Yes, it was $20. Well worth it though. Very welcoming with riverside walking trails and park.
