I had to book here last minute due to a scheduling snafu with another place I intended to stay. I had eaten at the restaurant in the hotel the year prior while skiing and knew it was convenient to everything. It is ski in and ski out. Literally a stone's throw from the gondola and kids' ski school. This place...

This hotel is pretty outdated, old TVs, mini fridge, but no microwave or other cooking appliances, so other than keeping your wine and cheese chilled, not that useful. The pros: staff is wonderful, helpful, friendly; breakfasts are good, and the location is superb, with ski in - ski out access and ski rental and storage on-site. Plus, our mattress was...

I really do not understand how anyone could rate this place anything higher. Location, staff and small gestures like breakfast and welcome cocktail were great, as were pool and hot tub. Price was reasonable. (It was off-season.) Rooms are EXTREMELY outdated (small, TUBE tv's!!!) and musty smelling, no comforters just old bedspreads. Basement rooms pitiful and you can hear every...

This hotel is affordable for the area, but very outdated and my room really needed cleaning. The mattress was old, the bedspread was stained, and the box spring was ripped and sticking out. The carpet looked like it had t been cleaned in forever. There was a pretty good continental breakfast, and the room did have a mini fridge (although mine...

Staff is nice, maids do their best to make things shine, but this property is old, old, old. Very old carpeting, sagging mattresses, old drapes, old tile, bedspreads just ok. New shower curtain! Definitely not a 3 star hotel. They allow pets.

Our location at the Ptarmigan was very nice. We had a great view of all the ski slopes as well as the gondolas, chair lifts from our hotel room, the only criticism was the parking. Some construction going on limited the parking to serious crowding.

Nothing fancy, could definitely use an update however the Ptarmigan Inn was very clean. Comfortable and conveniently located to the gondola and only a couple miles to downtown Steamboat. Good restaurant and bar/happy hour specials. Good location and reasonably priced. I'd stay here again.

On a recent trip passing through Steamboat Springs, this was the only place in town with rooms available. The employees were all very nice especially John, the bartender. The inn needs updating but it was decent enough for a night's stay. One thing that I did not care for was the use of an egg-crate foam topper on the mattress....

Honestly, I had never been to Steamboat Springs, and we decided to stay at The Ptarmigan Inn because it was less expensive than other locations. What a great find! This Inn is nested between some fancier and bigger condos, but it fit our needs perfectly. There were plenty of places within walking distance with happy hour specials. Lots of good...
