My family and I have traveled to Stemaboat, CO for 4 years now. My husband is an Elk hunter and my 12 year old daughter and I just explore the entire time. This year my oldest daughter and 4 year old Grandson got to experience Steamboat with us! First time in the Mountains, on a plane and at The Grand Steamboat for them, and it was all perfect! We LOVE The Grand. We cook breakfast every morning, bake a cake, make gingerbread houses, and find a wild tree to cut down for a temporary Christmas tree there each year! The heated pool and hot tub are AMAZING at night. The mountains in the background, twinkling lights, and snowfall make it a magical experience in itself. We have made some of our best memories at The Grand Steamboat ❤️

Hotel's Favorite
Stayed at the Grand while visiting family. Beautiful hotel, fantastic views and great amenities. Shout out to Rebekah at the front desk for her prompt responses and attention to details with helping us have a great stay. This was our first hotel with a humidifier AND hand held clothes steamer (which i’ve already gone and bought myself one. what a GREAT perk). The humidifier was tricky but Rebekah explained to us how to set it up and it was really helpful with the dryer air. The hotel room had the best view of the slopes and gondola (which is so much fun to ride up and see the beautiful views) and the beds slept like a dream. Robes were also provided and there was adequate USB access for all of our devices. There was an in room coffee maker and mini fridge so we never made it to the cafe or bar. The gym was equipped with more than the usual equipment and the pool/jacuzzi was spectacular. Everything was really clean and we felt safe and well cared for. I highly recommend this hotel for your next Steamboat trip! (not too mention there’s just so much to do in Steamboat and great places to shop and eat) My only tiny suggestion to the hotel would be a smart tv. In todays market with a hotel of this caliber it really is the norm and it would eradicate the need for so many channels to flip through. just a thought!

Beautiful place!!! Thanks so much for everything!! Check in went smooth, unit was very big and clean and spa and steamroom were amazing. Did not use the restaurant/bar area, so can't comment on that-but workout facilities and everything else was just great!

Stayed there last weekend. Total horror show. In no particular order we found: - No cleaning of rooms during the stay. Just a ‘turn-up’ of such poor quality that we had to make the bed ourselves - Towel with skid / brown marks - Employee walking fully dressed with dirty shoes into the sauna, laying down on the bench saying she’s gonna ‘have a 5 minutes nap’ (in clothes and shoes) - No laundry service (only a coin operated laundromat like back in the student days, great at $400/night). That’s for the ‘hygiene’ part. Let me tell you that the staff at reception (a 20 something who pretended to be the ‘manager’, probably to amuse himself or placate me) did not have the slightest care in the world / was in any way surprised by the above. Probably their standard guest experience? You will also be pleased to hear this hotel features: - no mini bar - a pool club that is straight out of the 90s - a 2/10 breakfast - no elevator from entrance to room floors (was great to carry 70lbs of luggage by myself up that first flight of stairs when we arrived after a 10 hour drive). Much nicer hotels in steamboat. Leave this one to the students or youngsters who may be less shocked by the (lack of) hygiene standards.

We have stayed at this location before, but sadly this visit was concerning. It is never great to feel you are staying in a dirty room, but we did let the front desk know our glasses in the bathroom had toothpaste on them. They did not offer to replace. They just said they will let those concerning this know. Of course, I let it go and we didn’t really plan to use any glasses after this anyways. They also had a hot tub out of order and the place is too large for just one. It was very crowded. This was just a super disappointing trip and a lot of money for the quality.

This hotel looked great on the internet so we booked for two nights. The hallway leading to our room smelled extremely bad like a basketball gym. Room was nice EXCEPT for the uncomfortable bed and huge bulky pillows. Ok that’s semi tolerable but the shower was the worst i have ever experienced anywhere in the world except Philippines where you bathe from a bucket. Close to zero water pressure and tiny shower. The cabin restaurant has a very limited menu so didn’t eat there. The pool and large jacuzzi are very nice so that’s a plus. The best part of this hotel is the parking. This place can’t even compete with Motel 6.

We used to love the Grand but things have gone downhill. Check in service is hit or miss; hopefully you get one of the nicer and engaged staff who pays enough attention. If so, perhaps you will avoid getting an unprogrammed parking pass like we did. Perhaps you’ll also get info on the hotel facilities, but I’m not holding my breath for you. The rooms are nice and I would say that’s the only reason I’ve given two stars. At the pool, get ready to fight for lounge chairs and resources, and bring AirPods so you don’t have to listen to someone’s personal speaker blaring country music. Who doesn’t love a good three hours of country hoedown songs?! Or guests who bring their own booze and live it up with blatant disregard for others?! Honestly, this hotel has lost his luster. We had a better experience at the Residence Inn, for crying out loud.

Just got back from a 3 night stay. I’ll admit that based on a few recent reviews I was a bit nervous. The Grand is normally double the cost of where I normally stay but I found a deal and wanted to try it out seeing as how the location is walk to lift opposed to a 2 mile shuttle ride. Aside from staff not being very informative at the initial check and having to ask questions to get information. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything from the lobby, hallways, pool, gym area and our room and bathroom were very clean and inviting. The location is fantastic and the beer and liquor store below came in handy. There are many restaurants in stores within walking distance that I never even knew of. Their shuttle came in handy and the stop for the free shuttle is right out front. The only gripe we had was that we went to the cabin for dinner and there was a reduced menu and nowhere online did they mention that. We ended up leaving. The Grand has a lodge/cabin feel which is what most ski resort lodging has. This is the only reason I can imagine the “dated” comments in other reviews. I definitely hope to find similar deals in the future because we will be back!

My flight was canceled by America airlines and I called the steamboat grand staff and spoke to Tica the assistant manager about adjusting the room rate for the first night. She consistently cut me off and would not allow me to speak. After finishing the conversation she thought the line was off but the phone was still on. I could hear her and the entire front desk staff laughing at the fact that my families flight was cancelled. She specifically said “I hope I get to check them in tomorrow.” I stayed on the line for about 5-6 minutes listening to the staff laugh at the fact that my families flight was cancelled and we would be delayed a day. This was beyond disrespectful.
