We were here 4 yrs ago and we’re blown away then. When we decided to come back, we knew we had to come here. Grounds well groomed. Plenty of places for a glass of wine. Absolutely perfect in every way.

My husband and I had a great experience over the 4th of July weekend. We stayed in the room called the Ranch. It was spacious and decorated very tastefully with a western/ranch decor. Bed was great. Breakfast was amazing. Food very tasty and plentiful. The plate was so artfully presented, that you hated to mess it up, to eat. Location is great. The property is next to the river. There was plenty of outside seating to rest and enjoy nature by the river. The hosts were very caring about our needs during the stay. We have been to other B&B's in Colorado and this is our favorite so far. I highly recommend the Arbor House B&B.

Our second time at Arbor House (the first was 16 years ago!) and we were as delighted now as before. Laurie and Keith are still as welcoming as ever. We had a room with an outside entrance (Rancher's Retreat) making loading/unloading very easy. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the owners' attention to detail is amazing. For example, my windshield scraper was almost useless, but I found theirs hanging on a post just in front of my SUV...nice touch. The gourmet breakfasts were the a high point each day, always delicious.

This is not your grandmother's B&B! The Arbor House is beautifully decorated and kept, and felt more like a boutique hotel. The location was perfect for a ski weekend away at Wolf Creek and we quite enjoyed being on the "quieter" side of the pass (vs. Pagosa). Nestled along the river with a beautiful backdrop of rock formations, the Arbor House was a peaceful and grounding escape. Keith, Laurie and their daughter, Ashley, were a delight and exactly the type of people you hope to host you. They sent us off Saturday morning with a wonderful to-go breakfast so we could hit the slopes early, and we enjoyed a delicious proper sit-down breakfast prior to checkout on Sunday. We loved the robes they provided for hot tub use, and the smart TV was so nice to be able to stream Netflix. Their sweet pup, Tater, is impossible not to love. A great way to spend a romantic weekend away. This B&B is a gem - we hope to come back during the warm months next time for some fishing!

Nope. Not grandma's B&B! No doilies or duckies or ruffles of any kind. Glad, too, that you enjoyed the "quieter" side of the pass. We like it that way as well. Thanks for staying with us. BTW: Tater says Hey!

I am 1 of 16 cousins who as a group, we have our family reunion in South Fort every other year and we always book and stay at Arbor House Inn............over the last 14 years. Our reunion books the entire house. We would not consider staying anywhere else in South Fork due to the beautiful decor and architectural design of the inn, the location of the inn (inn and patio backs up to the Rio Grande River, gorgeous mountain range). The owners do an awesome job of keeping the inn clean, maintenance free and updated. They have one of the most incredible breakfast cuisines that is second to none, served every morning, I challenge anyone to find a better breakfast in this hemisphere. Of course, I have saved the best for last. The owners, Laurie and Keith are extraordinary. They make us feel right at home and are always available if needed. We have been coming to this inn so much that we feel as if Lauri and Keith are part of the family reunion. You could not find better people to be around. We love them. It is always hard to leave but we always know we have an incredible place to come back to next time.

Ahhhhh, you're going to give us big heads with words like that! We appreciate them all very much, and we love you all very much, as well. We've had a lot of fun over the years getting to know all the "Cousins" and have enjoyed being a part of the various family reunions. By the way, just wondering if you adopt? We're available . . . : )

This is now my second visit to The Arbor House Inn. I discovered Keith and Laurie’s beautiful spot last year on my road trip to Colorado, and now it’s a place I want to stay every trip this way. In fact, I went thru South Fork again this year on my way to Denver from Phoenix specifically to stay here.

The home is comfortable. The river front is peaceful and beautiful. The gourmet breakfasts are delicious. I have now stayed in two of the five rooms and plan on trying them all. Last year was Hunters Hideaway upstairs. This year was Fisherman’s Folly. I preferred the larger bathroom of Hunters, but I liked the convenience of Fisherman’s walk out right to the deck and from the parking lot. Both had comfy queen beds.

I look forward to my next stay and plan on making it longer next time.

Skip the ordinary hotels and the busy side of Wolf Creek pass and make Arbor House Inn your base for outdoor activities and sightseeing. It is a beautiful Inn with a stunning view in the back with places to relax and enjoy the sound of the river and relax.
Our room had an outside entrance so we didn't have to go through the main house making it seem more private if we wanted, and was decorated and filled with everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant.
Every review mentions the outstanding breakfasts and we couldn't agree more! Laurie is a master at creating culinary deliciousness, creatively plated and served family style in the beautiful dining room. Keith is close by making sure coffee and juice is offered.
We took in a play at the Creede Reperatory Theatre 25 minutes away and a scenic drive to Lake City and there are many outdoor activities in every direction.
Dining is a little scarce in South Fork, but we did enjoy Ramons, and Mountain Pizza and had a very nice meal at the Rio Grande Club which is open to the public and there are options in Creede.
Arbor House Inn has hospitality plus and we look forward to returning.

Stayed for 2 wonderful nights in July. The B&B is right along the South Fork river, and there are so many great little spots on the property to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful setting. The room was great with so many nice little touches and a private entrance. The hosts are wonderful--very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, and they were able to work around gluten and egg allergies with no problem. As a photographer, I loved being able to just step outside and walk a few paces to the river to set up for some gorgeous shots a few times a day, and the night sky is beautiful. It's also just a one-minute drive into town. Will definitely stay again!

A beautiful location, charming rooms, and friendly owners...what's not to like?

I found this place completely by accident but it was a serendipitous stop. The location alongside the S. Fork of the Rio Grande under the sheer cliffs is stupendous, and make it a great place if you are into fly fishing, plus its proximity to the Wolf Creek Pass ski area make it a great winter lodging spot as well.

My room was decorated in a fishing motif, including a 3' long 'fish pillow' on the bed! The heating is via electric baseboards but they kept the room nice and toasty even while it was snowing outside (in May, no less, but that's springtime in the Rockies for you).

The owners are friendly and accommodating, even to the point of redoing my breakfast eggs when I didn't like the way they were initially prepared.

In fact my only real complaint was about the leather bucket chairs that were too low to effectively use my laptop on the small table, but that was quickly solved by stacking a couple of pillows onto the seat.

There is also a decent Mexican restaurant, Ramon's, right across the highway from the inn which made finding dinner quite simple. For my morning walk, Keith pointed me to Beaver Creek Road, the next street up the highway, which has a trailhead about a quarter-mile up it (Church Creek Trail) which is steep enough in its lower reaches to provide a good workout.

Our room (Fisherman’s Folly) was very comfortable and had the best hot shower to return to after a long day of skiing. The private entrance made it nice to shuttle gear back and forth easily. One highlight from our stay was the delicious gourmet breakfasts served in the Inn’s cozy dining room each morning. Keith and Laurie were very gracious hosts from arrival to departure. Looking forward to returning to this wonderful oasis in the summer/fall.

Are the rooms air conditioned?
Answer from
Being right on the river, air conditioning isn't really needed with the summer breeze. No, the 5 guest rooms do not have air conditioning since our summers tend to be in the 70's and low 80's and open windows do the trick.

Are the rooms air conditioned?
Answer from
Marilyn, The temperatures in our area don't really warrant air conditioning. All our guestrooms have ceiling fans and some have window fans as well. They seem to work just fine for a quick cool down if necessary.
