Beautiful hotel located with close access to restaurants and activities. Such a convenient location. Just a short walk down some stairs to the Snowmass upper village where we ate amazing green chili and nachos at Stew Pot and had delicious ribs and burgers at Hoss BBQ. My son took tennis lessons through Cascade Tennis at the Snowmass Rec Center. This resort had a complimentary shuttle that dropped us off at the Rec center. Rod and Kevin both were drivers during our stay and they were great shuttle drivers. Kevin even remembered my son and followed up later during our stay to ask how my son’s tennis lesson went. The only downside was parking up a hill, but at least it was free parking, which is a bonus compared to most resorts where you have to pay to park. Just a note that if you want to have the quietest location, get a room at the farthest end, however, I heard if you do that, you have to take a few elevators to get there. We were on the first floor close to the lobby and didn’t notice any noise in the room. The AC kept enough background noise I suppose. We brought fans as suggested by some, but due to a cold front we didn’t need them. The shower head in our room was high enough for my tall husband- which can be an issue sometimes at other hotels. Another benefit of this hotel is that they provide filtered water by the ice machine, which was great to have. Snowmass is so beautiful, and we enjoyed our stay here. We will definitely be coming back here again.…
I would like to recognize Kevin Bean. He is fantastic went above and beyond with all his help. Always smiling It was a fantastic stay. A great place to stay in Snow Mass. The service from all the staff was fantastic.
I found all of the staff to be super friendly and helpful. We stayed in a large suite and upon exiting the elevator on the 5th floor, it was a complete mess of a construction zone. There were literally construction buckets blocking the entrance to our door for the duration of our stay. Then, our second day, my 1 year old daughter and I were waiting outside the door for my husband and she bent down to point to something shiny outside our door and it was a razor blade!! I quickly picked it up and moved it out of reach but I cannot understand how the common area of a hotel could be so dirty and dangerous for the guests. Our water and ice machines were out of order, so I went down to the 4th floor where the water machine was also out of order. Our biggest challenge of the entire stay was that in the bedroom of our suite, there was not a SINGLE working outlet. I had to pull the flat screen tv away from the wall and unplug it so that I could use that outlet to plug in a sound machine for my 1 year old. Otherwise the only working outlet was in the bathroom. We could not use our baby monitor camera, charge our phones, etc. Overall, I would not return to this hotel, but I did appreciate how friendly and helpful the staff was.…
I visited the Viewline Resort for my birthday in the beginning in April and I was just blown away. I reached out to the Front Office Manager, Nelson to let him know that I was celebrating a special occasion and they indeed took care of me. I was assigned an amazing suite facing the gondolas at Snowmass. Our balcony was extremely spacious and was just perfect for the occasion. Suellen who checked me in sent me a nice gift and a handwritten note as well. For some reasons, their Room Service was not available one night, but the restaurant delivered our food to our room anyways. Even though we had no problems picking it up, they still went above and beyond for us. We truly felt so special! I will definitely return to the Viewline Resort, hopefully in the summer too!! Thank you Viewline Team!!…
We recently returned completed an excellent stay at the "new" Viewline. We've stayed quite a few times at the previous Westin so I can compare. The location has not changed, this is one of the best located hotels in Aspen-Snowmass in my opinion. True ski in/out, right on the upper mall for food & shopping, and at the top of the skittles cabriolet to easily get down to the base area. The remodeled lobby and rooms are nice, an improvement over the Westin if not a "brand new" hotel. Service - we've always had a positive experience. We had immediate luggage help upon pulling up, and big compliments to Ingrid at the front desk who was very sweet with our young daughter and the manager Kevin who worked through an "awkward" interaction with another visitor and also made sure we had a really great room (thanks!). Ski valet guys are always on the spot and very helpful. Food - breakfast is ok, a simple buffet. A la carte options are just pancakes and omelets. It'd be nice if there were some additional options. We ate dinner twice at Stark's and were pleasantly surprised. Not cheap, but it's Aspen. Excellent steak frites, burger, salad, etc. All with very friendly and attentive service. You're certainly paying for the location but it's a great place to stay.…
I am a long time ski guide and always make it a point to visit Aspen. My “go-to” Hotel is the Viewline, formerly The Westin in Snowmass Village. Our visit this week was terrific thanks to the Bell desk support of Chris Blanco and his team. Chris along with Raphael and Franco provided great service and took time to show they cared. Chris and team are great Ambassadors for the hotel. They are also incredibly efficient in managing the guest’s bags and creating optimal throughout for the department so carts are always available for the guests. It was impressive to watch them work. We had even lost our valet pass but they knew immediately where our keys where and which car we had. Thanks again guys! We’ll be back!!
We stayed here as a family of 4 and were very comfortable in the 2 queen bedroom. The service here was great. I had read some reviews about lack or service, but we found everything to be fantastic. We had help right away unloading and getting our gear to our room, and even our skis to the valet that night. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet the next morning and only had to walk about 50 feet to the ski run. The pool and 2 hot tubs were also wonderful features that we enjoyed. They had live music Saturday night and after that it was fun to walk the Snowmass Mall to find food and shop. They had surface lots we were able to park our oversized vehicle at which was also great. Many hotels can't accommodate a large truck in a parking garage, so it was nice to have above ground parking here. Our last ski day my son was involved in a small ski accident and the front desk staff were extremely helpful in getting me ice and bags for him. We can't wait to come back next year to ski and stay again. Another plus- we were not expecting housekeeping services, so we set our full trash can outside in the hall. We came back that day to find housekeeping visited. Not sure if that was just because we set the trash out, or if they are doing that for all rooms. It was a pleasant surprise.…
Great property recently updated. Lovely lounge bar area. Long walk to parts of the hotel. Lobby staff were great. Carolina Griffith Director of guest services was amazingly collaborative and accommodating for our family. Dining advice from Celeste Diamond was superb. She made all our reservations and sent us a well described itinerary. Overall amazing staff and experience.
Great slope-side location and nice lobby. Building is old with poor layout. Property needs a major remodel. Average service. Rooms are really hot. Need a car or use public transportation. Buffet breakfast is decent but restaurant is tired.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Viewline and in Aspen/Snowmass. The Viewline is a nice hotel in a great location, though it does have some pros and cons-- Tips: • If you’re staying in the “Alpine” section of the building, it is much faster and more convenient to use the entrance on Fall Lane to get into the building (rather than dragging yourself and your things across a mile of interior hallways) and use the exterior stairways to go to/from the lobby and pool areas Pros: • Newly updated, nicely furnished, and very clean • There are nice fire pits, shops, and restaurants in the area, the sky cab was fun, and the pedestrian mall was convenient • The bus system is excellent and made it easy to access the other ski resorts and Aspen • The ski valet was very fast and had friendly staff • Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful • There was convenient "free" parking (it is included in the nightly resort fee) Mixed: • Nice coffee maker and fridge in the room, though some of the coffee capsules didn’t brew properly and just spewed steam • The bathroom and products were nice, though we did experience lukewarm water and low shower pressure during peak times (as others have mentioned) • The building had an extremely confusing layout—elevators that didn’t stop at all floors, stairs that didn’t lead all the way to the exit level, etc—this could be fixed very simply with better labeling and directional signage in the hallways and elevators Cons: • The hot tubs were a MAJOR disappointment; the water was not nearly hot enough, there was a lack of towels, and no place to change or leave things inside (the hotel should turn the guest room next to the pool entrance into an area with cubbies, robes, more towels, etc) • The walls and doors were very thin, to the point that we could hear conversations from the room next door and everything happening in the hallways • The lighting in the room was dismal, it was fine during the day but extremely dark at night (there were no overhead lights, just a few small lamps in the room) • We had to use water from the bathroom sink to fill our water bottles and the coffee maker, which normally isn’t a problem except that the sink water was cloudy and tasted a bit odd; it would have been nicer if the hotel could provide refillable glass jugs with fresh water each day (as other hotels in this category have been doing) • Elevator buttons were often broken (and no one seemed to be fixing them) • Our porch roof had peeling paint and exposed plywood, it looked very run-down…
