IMPORTANT: Please be aware that Albert and Betty will no longer be your hosts and Innkeepers at the Historic Alma House as of February 6th, 2023. The property has sold and the new owners wish to rebrand and operate it themselves. Albert and Betty’s contract was quickly acquired by the Villa Dallavalle just down the street. We look forward to having you come and visit us. Thank you to all for the wonderful reviews and kind words over the years. We will cherish them always.

Matt and Mikki are very gracious hosts. Loved the fire pit in the backyard with all the twinkle lights. We would come back and visit! Highly recommend visiting the mines, the mill and Silverton's city museum.

Matt was a wonderful host and our stay was perfect! We were only there for one night but enjoyed the hot tub, hot tea on the backyard swing before bed, coffee at the fire pit in the morning, and a delicious breakfast before we left. Highly recommend!

The Alma House was a prefect spot for our overnight in Silverton. We booked Room #1 which had room for 3 of us for one night. The house was easy to find, beautifully appointed, and had a lot of amenities including a full breakfast, hot tub, a hot drink station (and ice machine) on the second floor, and a beautiful back yard with plenty of seating choices and a fire pit. We also added on a Jeep tour package onto our stay with Matt. Matt has a lot of historical knowledge of the area and it was an enjoyable few hours seeing the 'rest' of Silverton (if you only see what's in town you're missing out!). He was a capable driver and easily navigated the mountains, curves, and gravel roads. He was also able to work with our schedule and get us back Silverton in time for our next adventure. We highly recommend a stay at the Alma House.

We were lucky to find this quiet, quaint home that runs like a charm. The owners are very personable & know the area. Breakfast is served fancy which makes you feel special. They have the sweetest dogs & the outdoor hot tub was great!

This place is a MUST STAY if you're ever in Silverton! The hosts are so kind and accommodating, we loved talking to Matt while we were there! The prices for the rooms are super reasonable and the homemade breakfast in the morning is AMAZING. It was my first-time visiting Silverton but this place is literally a hidden gem of the area. Such a quiet location and the rooms were really comfortable and very clean. The Alma House is also close to town (definitely within walking distance), and nearby trails. It was such a relaxing experience and I will recommend the Alma House to anyone and everyone!

I cannot say enough nice things about this bed and breakfast! We had stayed in it 30 years ago and it was even better this time around. Mike and Mikki are wonderful hosts. Mike cooked breakfast for us at whatever time we wanted and it was great! We also had a wonderful quality control host named Mocha who sat near the table and made sure our food was up to our satisfaction. In the evening, you can sit in the downstairs parlor and listen to some soft music and even get some popcorn. There is a library available, as well as a hot tub and a covered patio. The decor is enchanting -- very late 1800s, early 1900s vibe. There is only one main floor bedroom so if you have difficulty with stairs, you might ask about that one. I would LOVE to go back and stay again.

It's a great spot! It's right in town so you can walk to multiple restaurants and the market for lunch and snack items (and a iphone charger cord when yours falls apart mid vacation). There are new owners now, and they seem committed to keeping the same cozy, friendly and quiet ambiance. Breakfasts were great. The owners let us keep lunch items in their fridge so we didn't need to buy expensive lunches at the ski area. I used the hot tub several nights.

The 5 star reviews are absolutely legit! The property, cleanliness, welcoming hosts, breakfast, comfortable all true Add, our experience to the list: My husband and I (victims) of the DEC 2022 Airline conundrum. Our SWA 12-27 return flight to Seattle from Albuquerque was canceled. The first available flight on any airline was 12-31 at 7:50 pm We were obligated to be back in Seattle before 12-29. So, we rented a SVU (attempted) to drive back to Seattle. Long story short we fortunately landed in Silverton and found The Historic Alma House Inn late at night. Having spent 5 hrs on Molas Colbank Pass in extreme road conditions we arrived “ a fragile hot hungry mess” relieved to be off pass. We thought we would be in the SUV overnight. I am compelled to share my husband and I are a mixed raced (seniors) couple. We have traveled the world. Stayed in many hotels. Our vast travel experience has taught us to avoid small towns. In particular, small town hotels. Having been (many times) turned away when the “vacancy” sign is “on” means “NOT welcome” Under the circumstances, our option sleeping in the car overnight at 20 degrees motivated us to subject ourselves to rejection. Check this out…. Betty opened her home to us as if we were truly life long friends. I asked for a restaurant recommendation. No restaurant opened. No gas station with snacks open. Within 15 min Betty has a tray of cheeses, bagel & tea because I mentioned I was hungry. (Breakfast included, certainly not mid night snacks) Betty and Albert, thank you. Our sincere heart felt gratitude for welcoming us/trusting us in your home was truly a Christmas blessing. Bob & Mary Alexander Ps Thanks Albert and 2 locals for pushing the car out of snow pile.✌🏾💪🏾👍🏽 #AlmaHouseInclusive #blacklivesmatter #betty&albertrock! #colorblind

Our experience staying in this beautifully restored house was perfect from start to finish. Albert and Betty greeted us at the door and gave us a personal tour. The rooms are furnished to match the era and we were provided fluffy robes to wear to make us truly feel at home. There is so much to do here! In addition to the comfy rooms, there are cozy nooks everywhere, a well-stocked bookcase, garden hot tub, fire pit, a telescope for stargazing, and bicycles to borrow. The breakfasts were a delight to the eyes and a feast for the palate. The Alma House gets our hightest recommendation.

I’m hesitant to review this place… because I want it as my own secret home in Silverton. But, it deserves a review! Step through the front door and step 120 years into the past. This isn’t a beautifully restored Victorian; this looks like your grandmother’s house after 50 years of continuous living. Everything creaks and tilts and feels out of a different era. I’ve stayed here many many times over many many years. most of their guests are repeat customers. There’s a reason why – you can’t buy this level of charm and hospitality. I’ve never seen a ghost here, but several people swear it is haunted. If ANY place is haunted… in is THIS place! In all the best ways…….. If you stay here in the winter, the hot tub outside is absolutely amazing.
