Our third, and best so far, stay at the Alma House. As we drove up, Albert & Betty saw us coming and met us before we could even get out of the Jeeps. That says something about this couple and their willingness to make every stay as special as possible. Room... We had the General Palmer suite on the 2nd floor (Rooms 2 & 4). This was our second stay in the General. New windows all around and a new bed since our last stay. The room is huge and inviting. Grounds... Albert & Betty have turned the side yard into a colorful oasis in the middle of Silverton. The flowers are everywhere and healthy. We used all of the amenities - gas grill for three meals, hot tub at least twice, dining gazebo, and the fire ring. We did not have time to take one of the new bikes for a spin, but there are 4 brand new bicycles for guests to use to ride around Silverton. I cannot think of anything they could do to make it better out there. The food... I've been lucky enough to travel a bit and I've had a lot of hotel and restaurant breakfasts. Albert works magic. His breakfasts are quite simply amazing. All of that is nice, and would keep me coming back, but now I consider Albert & Betty good friends. A trip to Silverton is like a trip to a friend's home now. Thank you both for sharing your home with us again. See you next year!

This is a wonderfully maintained OLD hotel that has been period sensitive updated. Beautiful original silk wallpapers, newer Victorian furnishings and great beds. We're going to call Betty, (she and Albert are the resident owners) and ask for the brand and model. We don't sleep on anything this comfortable in our own home. Wifi and TV if you need it (we never used either and it was great to escape for a few days!) Albert is an amazing cook with beautiful breakfasts, different everyday, balanced with proteins, carbs, fresh fruits and of course sweets. There is a wonderful backyard space with a firepit that we really enjoyed siting by in the late September nights. Also a hot tub, gazebos with seating and a BBQ in case you want to grill your own meat for dinner! Really nice people, great place to stay!!!

The host and hostess were kindhearted and very hospitable. My bed was wonderful! Best eggs ever! In the morning they helped us with their bikes and we rode around town. It was one of the highlights in our Colorado/Utah trip. Betty filled us in on the Inn's history and Albert recited one of his poems during our stay. You leave there feeling like you have friends in Silverton!

This was one of the best experiences we had on our trip. The owners were fabulous. The room was precious, spacious and very comfortable. I cannot begin to describe how wonderful the breakfast tasted. They went to great lengths to make sure out visit was perfect. The other guests were all friendly. It felt like family. The owner’s were very knowledgeable of the area and were able to make great recommendations.

I could go on about how amazing this bed and breakfast was! The innkeepers are so nice and personable! They make homemade breakfast every morning and even provided breakfast for my dog 😊 they have a hot tub and bikes to ride around town. A nice, historical house with cozy rooms. Can’t wait to go back!

I cant say enough about Albert & Betty as hosts of the hotel. They are warm and friendly and more than willing to talk about the town and where to visit. The hotel is refurbished beautifully and is clean. Our room was decorated in period theme and everything worked perfectly. The breakfast was excellent and tasty. We would definitely come and stay again.

A real historic B&B where Betty and Albert take great care of you. Albert fixes a wonderful breakfast every morning that is like something off one of those cooking shows. We stayed on the third floor in Room 9. The historic claw foot tub in the bathroom has the whole shower setup which for younger people would be fine, but at 67 I was a little unsteady in there. My wife had no problem. We could walk to everywhere in Silverton we wanted to go. Great restaurants and an unbelievable museum that is not well advertised but definitely worth your time. The Alma House also has an outdoor area and a hot tub that we did not take advantage of. We enjoyed visiting with other guests at breakfast. If you want the Hilton, this is not for you, but if you seek authentic, this IS for you. We would stay there again.

We were so lucky to find this bed and breakfast. The Inn itself is a beautiful original building of which the owners painstakingly continue to update and preserve. We loved our three night stay in #10, the Honeymoon suite. It's a large room with a gas fireplace, sitting area, footed tub with shower, and COMFY king bed. As a bed and breakfast, they serve a FULL and delicious breakfast. This is made most convenient as they even ask what time you'd like to come for breakfast! Not only is there a full breakfast, but you'll find hot coffee and little bites outside your room at 6am. to hold you over until your breakfast time. The crowning jewels of this Inn are the owners, Betty and Albert. They are genuinely polite, wonderfully attentive, and most of all LOVE what they are doing AND IT SHOWS. The choke cherry bushes along their fence were in full bloom and smelled lovely. Betty loves keeping her garden in beautiful condition. The grounds are lovely and we even enjoyed the jacuzzi one evening. As we were enjoying the tub, Albert came along with two glasses (plastic, as we were in the jacuzzi) of wine for us to enjoy. One evening, I found my hubby pleasantly engaged in conversation with Betty, Albert, and some other guests, all sipping on some wine Albert had opened. Albert and Betty provide almost all the services themselves and this shows their incredible ownership in and to this beautiful Inn. Albert is the cook for breakfast and all breakfasts were delicious, healthy, and large enough to get one ready for a day of hiking, exploring, or whatever one would like to do. Don't miss out on an amazing experience; STAY AT THIS INN.

From the moment my husband I walked into The Alma House Inn, we were treated like family. Betty and Frank were the most gracious hosts. Frank assisted us with our heavy luggage to/from the top floor. The breakfast each morning was outstanding. Not to mention the lovely treat - coffee and tasty mini pastries - Frank would leave us outside our door each morning prior to the full delicious breakfast! Bed was comfy and roomy. Unique house with so much history. Beautifully decorated. A gem!

Whenever you have the opportunity to spend one or more nights in Silverton, CO. please be sure to stay at the Alma House. Everything that the previous guests have praised here, I can only confirm 100%. The Innkeepers Betty and Albert give the traditional house a very personal, loving and familiar atmosphere. I am so glad that I stumbled upon the guesthouse by chance during my travel planning and was able to stay there with my husband. It's just a pity that we live so far away in Germany and can't come more often for a short trip to Betty and Albert. And yes, we missed the freshly prepared breakfast of Albert already one day after departure. If you haven't stayed at Alma House once, you've missed something wonderful.
