We had the most amazing stay at ocean sands inn!! The staff was impeccable!! The price couldn't be beat either and the best part is even after we checked out they allowed us to enjoy the pool and beach access for the remainder of the day!! Even gave us a hideaway bed since we have 3 kids. We tried to book another room for next weekend but already full due to memorial weekend however they put us on a cancel list..all I can say is if you are looking for great service and a beautiful room and view this is the place!!
Upon check-in we went to our 2nd floor ocean view room. Yes, you could see the ocean, but had to look over the top of very busy and noisy traffic on the A1A. The thermopane glass on the sliders had failed so a clear view of the ocean was not possible. Then the slider opening onto the veranda was broken and would not open. So the outside traffic noise was not tolerable for us. The desk and management staff were very apologetic and gave us a full refund, and helped us find an alternate location which we really appreciated. Thankfully it was early in the day so that we could seek alternatives. It seemed that they are trying to get the hotel fixed up, but I’d suggest you call them to find out more about the specific room you are considering
They advertised free breakfast when we booked and even states free buffet breakfast on check out invoice , but was an up charge upon arrival . Not very professional but more a bait and switch . Best thing about it was really close to the beach
My husband and I stayed on a Tuesday evening for our 21st wedding anniversary. People were literally dumpster diving in their parking lot because half the hotel is under construction. Paper thin walls. Rude people yelling in the halls after midnight. Had to cross a foggy/ busy highway to get to the beach at 7am to see sunrise and almost got hit by rude people not stopping. Stone cold eggs and a sign saying “out of doughnuts and muffins today” in the breakfast room that accommodates 3 people. Ban saws running- hammers pounding- men yelling from 8am til our checkout time at noon. It was absolutely awful. It’s the first time we were able to leave our disabled kids in 8 years for a one night stay for our anniversary- and this is what I have to look back on. The front desk NEVER TOLD US IT WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!! Upon leaving we were not even offered an apology for noise. We walked outside to see that literally 2 doors down from us the entire sliding door was being torn out and things be ripped of the wall. They knew that we would be able to hear everything but still checked into a room next to that. The other half ( the quieter part of the hotel) was literally empty. I worked in hotels for 10 years and supervised at a 5 star hotel. NEVER would I treat my guests this way. I would have informed them of the construction and offered a quiet room. It was noted on our reservation that we were there for our anniversary and the front desk lady said happy anniversary but NOT ONE WORD ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION!!! We forgot Water bottles. The hotel I worked at gave at least one bottle complimentary but we had to pay $1 a bottle. It was clean but all beat up and out of date in our room. So it needs updating but they need to let their guests know so they can come visit and not have NO SLEEP 😴 and cold yucky breakfast.…
We were looking forward to the premium upstairs ocean view rooms. However, we were put off. Initially with the state of the room, and then the carpet being laid across the hall, and finally the dis-inclination to provide some service-recovery for inadequately maintained room condition. The staff were other-wise helpful and friendly. We were offered complimentary breakfast because of the repairs/refurb odors since there was no other rooms to switch into. This can be a great find, if you get a refurbished room, especially the road- facing sliding-door with a good seal, to keep A1A traffic noise out, when sleeping. M
