Summary: This was a horrible experience. The staff (he told me his name was "Andy") was very rude, the rooms were dirty, our door didn't bolt, the linens and carpet were creepy. We had no heat in the room (it was 50 deg F when we woke up in the morning), the smoke detector did not work, and the shower... More

The room stinks of chemicals! The towels are threadbare and I'm not sure the sheets are clean. It's getting cold (Mid-September in the mountains) and is forecasted to get down to 36 degrees Fahrenheit and we had the audacity to ask for heat, the owner YELLED at my husband. The jacuzzi doesn't work...we won't stay here again.

They advertise wi-fi, we really needed it for business that night, but could never get on their server. Jacuzi room - not open. Dirty, nasty rooms! Rippled carpet complete with several BIG lumps under it that were so BIG I about twisted my ankle and fell! Only ONE electrical outlet in the room that was in the bathroom with the... More

Front door didn't lock, WiFi didn't connect, towels were old and shaggy, owner was grumpy and mildly rude, the one electrical outlet that worked was greatly overloaded and the room was overpriced. However, it was clean. Spend 20.00 more and stay at the name brand motel across the street.

This was our last stop in Colorado before boarding a plane in Denver, bound to Europe. The owner, behind the desk, was very friendly. He gave us very helpful informations about what to visit between Salida and Denver. The motel was good looking with large rooms nicely decorated. There was a jacuzzi but no breakfast. The owner gave us the... More

Wow where to start,, the other reviews are what is classic and completely right on. The ACI is a real nut house. I didn't read any of the reviews before I stayed there and after I have to agree, from the wacky owner to smells , lack of decent equipment (wifi, TV, etc) I have to say Pass if you... More

Yes, the American Classic is a little run down, and not the place to stay for your big anniversary trip. But the showers blast hot water like in the old days, a hundred gallons a second. The "Snack Room" (which doesn't have any snacks) has a Jehovah's Witness tract next to a couple of Victoria's Secret catalogs. Everything is very... More

Owner and wife do not love this business or even like it. In conversation, he referred to me as lady, although he spoke my name at the beginning of the conversation. He had my ear about how much taxes went up, etc. No money has been invested in this motel in a long time. Rug in room is rippled, fixtures... More

This place is fine for the price. The sign says it all "Affordable accommodation". The owners have been here 18 years and will probably move on soon. Maintenance therefore seems to be strictly on a needs basis. But the carpet does not smell, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the property layout means most rooms are well... More
