Too expensive for an 80's style room. Pool separate from hot tub. "Sauna" was just the steam from the hot tub in its own area. Had a chemical smell that irritated my lungs and had a non stop cough the whole time there. Haven't coughed since I left. Thank goodness it was only a 1 night stay as we passed... More

Dear Jennifer, Thank you for staying with Great Western Colorado Lodge and then taking your time to write us a review. As Salida is a town for tourism, all motels in Salida have high room rates during busy season and on the weekends. However, we are still one of the cheapest motels in Salida. We do have old building, but... More

This motel is clean, but dated. Room is tiny. Walls are paper thin. I can hear the couple in the next room quietly conversing. This is a 1 star place. I expected much more, based on the reviews I read online. Very disappointing.

The fabulously comfortable beds more than made up for the somewhat dated look of our motel room. A friend and I stayed 2 nights, and we booked a room with 2 beds. The dividing wall with pocket door between the beds was a pleasant surprise, giving us unexpected privacy. The place could use some updating, and my friend said she... More

There rooms were decent size, free continental breakfast, plus they had a heated pool, a sauna and a hot tub. Right next to the indoor hot springs in Salida, CO. Great location easy to locate. Staff made sure there was always towels in the pool area. They also made sure they refreshed breakfast foods.,........,...... They were a little pricey however... More

We rode from Denver to Salida and decided to stay at the Great Western. Poor decision! The rooms are very dated, and the place seems to lack maintenance. However, if you want to hear everything going on in the room next to you then you may well enjoy your stay I think we had a couple on the second honeymoon... More

While the property is in good shape internally, the outside is not as appealing. There needs to be better signage and the grounds need freshened up. The room was very clean and the bed was very adequate. The staff is very pleasant. Breakfast was included and it was adequate for a quick breakfast when leaving. I enjoyed the stay here.

My two kids and I stayed in the family suite. It was nice for everyone to have their own bed and I had a separate room with a TV. They also had a TV. The pool was too cold to use but the hot tub was nice and perfect for three people. It wasn't crowded so that was nice. Don't... More

I stayed at the Great Western Colorado Lodge for my first time a few years ago and I kept a positive memory of the place. This time, in mid october 2015, before opting for this motel I had a look at other options in town since I was somewhat doubtful it was still the good place I knew. Part of... More

Clerk (Kylie) was great-I checked in early and she picked out a great room for me. Room was large, quiet, had great bathroom, closet, TV, coffee, A/C, comfy bed, clean! No mini-fridge or microwave, but not an issue for me. Motel is right on Route 50, only 1.5 miles from downtown area. You can walk to it if you're used... More
