Unfortunately, goats do not dance as I found out, but they were friendly and interesting. Sawatch room was nice, roomy and had wonderful views all from every window/balcony. Plenty for breakfast, good coffee and cappacino. Loved the fresh goat yogurt! We did the cheese making class and brought home some yummy FRESH goat cheeses. Would love to go back again!

Our July 2016 visit to The Mountain Goat Lodge was phenomenal. My husband and I were welcomed with our adult children and their significant others as we stayed for a weekend. The innkeepers, Gena and D'Arcy, were very accommodating (even with one of them being ill the week before), and they made sure our stay was a positive one. It... More

We loved the goats and other animals, really sweet and wonderful, and it is so obvious that they are not only well cared for, but loved. Very nice and friendly staff. I struggled with the poor rating, but in the end, feel like I should be honest about the total experience. First, the location is right off the highway and... More

We had a 3 year old with us that thought this was the greatest place in the world due to the animals...goats, llamas, chickens, and ducks. From the perspective of the adults...great breakfast, friendly service and clean, modern rooms made for a really nice stay. We will definitely return!!

We only stayed one night, but one night was enough for us to come back! Breakfast was amazing, farm fresh ingredients was refreshing, fresh espresso drinks were delightful, and being surrounded by goats, chickens, ducks, and a llama was home away from home for us! They are accommodating and friendly. My only suggestion is that the rooms get so darn... More

We booked a room at the Mountain Goat Lodge because they were pet friendly, and we like staying at B&B's. The room was surprisingly big, compared to other ones we've stayed at, everything was very clean, the area and the views from our balcony were beautiful, the goats and llama were fun to watch, the owners were nice, and the... I'm not a huge B&B fan. I like privacy, don't care to eat with strangers, etc... However, for some reason, everything in Salida and Buena Vista was booked and we couldn't find anything available except one room left here. Reviews looked good so we thought...what the heck! We had the Tabaguache (I think that's how you spell it) Room upstairs.... More

We were very lucky to have a room at the last minute and Gina was very nice & helpful with the reservation. We were greeted by goats as we drove through the gates, they are so darn cute! Gina was there to greet us and check in was fast and easy. We stayed in the corner Shavano room on the... More

The Mt Goat Lodge did not disappoint! Great hosts, exceptional breakfasts and interesting setting made for a real get a way experience. Loved meeting the goats, hearing roosters crow and admiring chickens. Wonderful dogs were good guests too. Children might love to too.
