We booked a room at the Mountain Goat Lodge because they were pet friendly, and we like staying at B&B's. The room was surprisingly big, compared to other ones we've stayed at, everything was very clean, the area and the views from our balcony were beautiful, the goats and llama were fun to watch, the owners were nice, and the... I'm not a huge B&B fan. I like privacy, don't care to eat with strangers, etc... However, for some reason, everything in Salida and Buena Vista was booked and we couldn't find anything available except one room left here. Reviews looked good so we thought...what the heck! We had the Tabaguache (I think that's how you spell it) Room upstairs.... More

We were very lucky to have a room at the last minute and Gina was very nice & helpful with the reservation. We were greeted by goats as we drove through the gates, they are so darn cute! Gina was there to greet us and check in was fast and easy. We stayed in the corner Shavano room on the... More

The Mt Goat Lodge did not disappoint! Great hosts, exceptional breakfasts and interesting setting made for a real get a way experience. Loved meeting the goats, hearing roosters crow and admiring chickens. Wonderful dogs were good guests too. Children might love to too.

okay, the shower curtain had a moose pattern and there was a certain alpine charm to the room decor but it all worked just fine. Goats outside the room were a hoot. Beautiful views/ Wonderful hosts and facilities. Excellent breakfasts. Anyone leaving hungry or under caffeinated has no one to blame I can't imagine NOT going back, it was wonderful.

My husband and I traveled around Colorado, hiking and enjoying scenery for 11 days. I could say I felt at home at Mountain Goat Lodge, but frankly, my home can't compare. Of the 5 very nice places we stayed during our Colorado vacation, this was one of our favorite. Friendly, "so glad you're here" greeting made me feel like it... More

We stayed 2 nights at Mountain Goat in June 2016 There is absolutely nothing negative to say about our time there. On Saturday, we took the cheese making class. Gina is an excellent teacher and very easy to follow. Our room was beautiful and stocked with everything one would need. The fresh coffee, tea, water and juice available all day was... More

We stayed at the Mountain Goat Lodge for a few days as a getaway. We really enjoyed it. The rooms are very comfortable, and there are portable swamp coolers to help beat the summer heat. The owner cooks breakfast each morning, and it's always delicious and very filling. You can hang out with the goats in the pasture, as well... More
