On Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, I and 5 friends checked into the Pueblo Courtyard Hotel. We were assigned 3 rooms, 2 of which were adjoining, and the third was at the opposite end of the hall. When 4 of us entered our adjoining rooms, we found one of the rooms to be satisfactory, but the second one reeked with an overpowering stench of sewage. As we were searching for the source of the smell and opening windows, our friends from the room down the hall arrived to say that their room smelled bad, as well, though not as bad as ours, and that they had reported it to the desk. We followed suit, reporting the smell in our room. In due time, a hotel employee arrived with a spray bottle of (perhaps) air freshener. It was apparent to us that addressing this issue with a spray would be insufficient. We went down to the desk to discuss it, and were greeted with thinly veiled hostility and a seeming unwillingness to 1. acknowledge the problem, or 2 do anything for us. We offered to stay (all 4 of us) in the unaffected adjoining room. This was ok with the people at the desk, but when we suggested that perhaps we should be refunded the price of one room, the hostility ramped up to rude denial. We then asked for and received a completely different room on another floor, which was satisfactory. We were later told that the smell might have emanated from "the grease trap", and that other guests in the hotel had experienced the problem as well. What struck all of us was the fact that no attempt was made to retain our good graces as guests of the hotel. There was no apology offered, and we have crossed this hotel off our list of places to stay when visiting Pueblo.

Roving, Thank you for taking the time out of your day to post this review. We read all the comments our guest leave for us and use them as tools to better our service. I am embarrassed and truly dishearted to read about your experience with us. No matter what the cause of the sewage smell, we should have promptly taken care of you and your family. I would love to chat more about this with you. You may email me at Justin.Salazar@marriott.com or call the Hotel at 719-542-3200 ext 3278. I again truly apologize for your recent expereince at our hotel.
This is a very nice hotel right in downtown. The staff was excellent and the hotel very clean and updated. The only issue is limited parking. If you get in late you might have to park in a remote lot and cross a 4 lane street to return to the hotel.
The last night of a ten day trip with a Friend from Florida. I wanted her to see the "Center for American Values" before she headed home. The hotel was conveniently located near the exhibit on the River Walk, so was a logical choice. The price was reasonable, the hotel very clean and the personnel were extremely helpful. We did have a small problem with bed linens, when we headed to bed, but one call/visit to the Front Desk, and Housekeeping was there immediately to take care of the situation. Both Housekeeping ladies were extremely regretful of the problem, but were quick to remedy. The Manager, without us asking, made restitution for our inconvenience. I would definitely consider another stay at this beautiful Marriott Courtyard Hotel.
Stayed here for a night for a softball tournament. The hotel is convenient to downtown. The rooms are clean. the beds comfortable, the water pressure is good. The river walk seems like it could be good fun in the summer, it was pretty empty 9pm on a Saturday in October. Easy on and off the highway and right in Downtown.
This hotel is in an excellent location close to the historic district, Riverwalk and museums. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and easily the best Courtyard room that we have stayed in. The bar had a pleasant atmosphere and as a result was popular. The breakfast was the usual limited range of pre-prepared dishes. The menu advertised ‘Eggs your way’ but when my wife asked for poached eggs she was told ‘we don’t do them’ - Hmmm. Nobody chooses a Courtyard for its limited formulaic breakfast, so the breakfast has been excluded from the rating. On the other hand some may avoid Courtyards because of the breakfast - we had booked four Courtyards for our tour but after the third we were so disenchanted by the breakfast the we cancelled the last booking and booked into another hotel. Many years ago Courtyards provided good breakfasts; the current breakfast is long past its sell-by date.
