Morelo was undoubtedly our best days of 2019. We spent 4 WonderFilled and 3 WanderFull nights at the exciting kelong with a group of 13 family members and friends. Days were filled with interesting activities like boat trips, fishing, kayaking, banana boat rides, water polo, shrimping, sotong catching, sashimi eating and coconut tree climbing. For the elderly, she was entertained with a myriad of first times like mahjong playing, rabbit petting, campfire gazing, beach combing, turtle feeding and petting and fireworks setting. At the age of 76, it is heartening to see her enjoying herself through and through. The youth with ages ranging from 11 to 21, lol the nights away with games like spoon (Heart attack with a missing spoon), poker, Tai Di, black jack, star gazing, fireworks gazing. The kelong had a staff member that would follow the youth wherever they went, making the parents feel safe in whatever activities they participate in in the foreign land. This staff observes them when they comb the beach or helps them to hook up the bait for fishing. The manager Mr Desman does a splendid job seeing to all our needs on the resort from the event planning to the menu for the day and even went on to monitor details like making sure we put on the right lotion for sun burnt after care. Mr Desman single-handedly caught and released the snake found on the coconut tree when ADo climbed it to harvest the coconuts for our tasting and drinking. The events were carried out like clockwork and there was no wastage of time or opportunities. We have a shoutout to the chef for cooking our favourite Indonesian bread french toast, to ADo for teaching us about shrimping and the Bapak for teaching us the ropes of fishing. Five stars to Morelo Kelong Resort. Yoohoo. We miss you already and hope to visit really soon! Kudos to Morelo Kelong Resort. …
Second visit to the kelong. Like the previous visit, Desmond and his team made everyone feel right at home immediately. The children had a blast fishing off a reef, playing in the rain and shrimping during low tide at night. As usual, food was good, especially the chef's homemade sambal chilli. It was so good that adults could not help having second servings of plain rice just to enjoy the sambal. Definitely a must try.
The kids enjoyed the activities the Morelo team planned for us. They had so much fun that they wanted to return to the kelong again to fish. Thanks Desmond and team for making our kelong trip a wonderful one.
A great place for those who love the outdoors and nature. The beach was quiet and beautiful with crystal clear water. You could walk 10s of meters out from the shore and it would still be waist deep. Our super awesome guide Desmond organized plenty of activities to keep us entertained like fishing, catching squid, and climbing coconut trees (the fresh coconuts were soooo tastey - all of the food was delicious). He eagerly shared with us his knowledge of the local wildlife and how they save baby sea turtles. We even saw 2 baby turtles! Thank you to the staff for giving us such an amazing experience!!
Second visit to this Kelong in 1.5 year. We had alot of fun activities here, staffs are very helpful and nice and accomodating too. Overall good trip. Food wise to be improved. Will like to return for a 3rd stay soon.
