The Fireside Cabins are a diamond in the rough! There are several cabins, spread out with space between each. Parked right in front of our door so unloading was a breeze! Fishing, (catch & release) steps from your cabin, about a mile from town where there is plenty of shopping, dining, hot springs and plenty of outside adventures. We reserved one of the cabins near the river for one night two weeks ago on our way to AZ. Cabin had 2 bedrooms, small kitchen area with everything you need to fix a quick meal, TV/living room area. Bathroom had shower, no tub. Beds were very comfortable, cabin was very quiet, did not hear any noise from the road nearby or other cabins and was a treat to open the bedroom window and listen to the river! Enjoyed the seating/rocking chair on the front porch, very relaxing! Great place to enjoy one of the beautiful areas of Colorado!…
I write this as I sit on the porch of my gorgeous cabin, listening to the river flow and the fish jump while a fire crackles and the stars light the sky. This place is magic. When the air gets crisp, I slide inside where a perfectly appointed space feels unpretentious and utterly perfect like a home away from home. As someone in the hotel business for many years, it’s quite remarkable how this beautiful Inn has been able to curate such a perfect balance of authentically outdoorsy and yet so darn comfortable. We will return for years to come.
A mountain-fed singing river behind your perfect little cabin (do ask for one of the 3 that are truly “ON the river.”)…does it get any sweeter? Yes, it’s rather expensive (we got an online deal), but this place is so charming, quiet, out of the way, & peaceful that it was worth a splurge. Easy drive to town. Hostess recommended the Overlift Hot Springs (Spa) downtown & it was perfect also, as was breakfast at 2Chicks & a Hippie. Laid back, mellow, & not at all Yuppified like some of the other more “famous” local venues. Small is good. Each cabin (maybe only 12-15 total—& remember to get one of the 3 directly on the river—the others are all packed too closely together) is similar & very nicely appointed. Some fanciful clever touches, too: twig drawer pulls, funky art, etc.
Very friendly staff. Great accommodations. Jacuzzi on site as well a being right next to the river. Cabins have everything needed. You can check out movies. Laundry on site. Dog friendly. Great view from cabins. A great place to stay.
We spent the last few days of our Christmas vacation at the Fireside Cabins. We had a wonderful time in a 1 bedroom cabin. The log cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. It worked fine for our family of 3. The kitchen was small (no oven or dishwasher) but we made it work. We cooked all our meals in the cabin. The gas fireplace kept the cabin cozy and the scenery was beautiful. The location was convenient for getting to town and to the Wolf Creek ski resort. There is Wifi but it didn't work great at times. We would stay again.
We spent 4 nights here the week of Thanksgiving. The cabin was absolutely perfect. Loved the way it was decorated, it was super clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. They even had a crockpot! We rented a two bedroom cabin so our son could have his own room. Totally worth every cent! They have a super cute outdoor area near the river that we spent some time at one night of our visit, grilling steaks and enjoying a little bonfire. I’m sure we would have been down there more if it had been summer season. The location is perfect with an easy drive into downtown Pagosa Springs, and 30 minutes down the hill from Wolf Creek Pass. We spent two mornings up at Lobo Overlook sledding. There was a ton of snow. We would definitely recommend Fireside to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway in the perfect location. We cannot wait to go back this summer!…
Once the sun goes down the skunks that live under the cabins come out looking for food and if one gets startled and sprays then you smell it all night long like we had to. We also took our dog with us and followed all the rules of having him on leash at all times but the owners of the property don't feel they have to follow the same rules and let their dog roam freely on the property which nearly caused an incident with our dog. This is not a pet friendly property especially with all the skunks that live under the cabins, and we spoke to people in town that told us about several animals and even a child that got sprayed by a skunk at fireside cabins
We stayed at the Fireside Inn for a few days and were absolutely blown away by the charm and coziness of the cabins and the overall hospitality at Fireside. Every little detail was thought through, which enhanced our stay. The location is perfect!!! Want to roast marshmallows under the stars? Catch and release fishing at sunrise? Hot tub soak after hiking? And we top it all off with falling asleep to the sound of a flowing river in a luxe cabin. WE. WILL. BE. BACK.
We loved staying here after our road trip to Jackson Hole. The Fireside Inn and Cabins were perfect for me, my 2 teenage children, and my dog! It was so fun cooking after hiking and roasting marshmallows by the fire. It was very clean, comfortable and the location is perfect for restaurants, hiking and maybe 20 minutes from town. I highly recommend The Fireside Inn and Cabins!
One of my most favorite memorable vacations so far. I decided to get out of the city and drive my kids across the country during this pandemic. We camped most of the time but looked for a quiet place when weather was bad or needed a break from the elements. What a great find this was. The cabin was immaculate. The river was beautiful. The kids were able to tube from the property and down to the hot springs where we picked them up after soaking in the natural hot springs along the river. I just cant say enough about how special this place is. We will be back.
