My wife and I stayed here in September in a studio cabin. The cabin was clean and well appointed, it also came equipped with A/C. The cabins are located at the rear of the property and are shielded from road noise. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the evening watching the sun go down. The staff is... More

Fall in Pagosa Springs is such a special time with the crisp, clear air, and all the fall colors, against the sky. It doesn't get much better than soaking in all that natural beauty, and hearing the elk bugle in the background, followed by a moonlight soak on our hot tub deck. We are happy to hear you had a... We stayed at this quaint little lodge for two nights the third week of September. It is east of town a few miles which gets you away from the hustle and bustle around the hot springs area. Our first night was in the lodge and our second in a one-bedroom cabin. We preferred the cabin because it was quieter and... More

I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the property and the nearby hiking. Perhaps another time. I stayed here for one night, while attending a wedding. Check in was easy, and the front desk staff person was awesome. I think all the people we ran into in Pagosa Springs were friendly. How could you not be in a... More

Thank you for writing! We like to lhear from all our guests. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and the free hot breakfast we provide with freshly cooked scrambled eggs and sausage, and the waffles and pastries. We are located 2 miles/5 minutes from Pagosa Springs, and that gives us certain advantages, with 15 acres, a beautiful manicured green... More

We stayed one night at the High Country Lodge while on a driving tour of Colorado. I picked the High Country Lodge because of it's high rating and because it is a non-smoking facility. I was not disappointed. The High Country Lodge was great. No smoking. good breakfast, comfortable rooms. Note that the hotel is a walk up so if... More

Very friendly staff. The front desk was slammed when I got there but she remained very friendly and helpful, with a smile on her face the whole time. Room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was typical. I would definitely book again.

No matter how busy we may be, we always make time for each and every guest, because each of you is important to us. It may take a minute or two to get your answer, but we are always happy to recommend a restaurant, a hiking trail, a fishing spot, or the best place to see the sunset. We are... More

Recently stayed at the High Country Lodge while hiking the continental divide. Check in was a breeze and the staff was extremely helpful. They gave us excellent dinner reservations as well pointing out several area hiking trails. The room was well appointed and very clean. We would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed reading your great review. You came at a wonderful time for hiking. Our fall days are usually the perfect temperature, and the trees the most colorful against a sky that is incredibly blue. Add to that an excellent meal at one of our great restaurants, and a soak in our hot tubs under the stars, and it doesn't... More

If you like dirty cabins, owners who don't care about your business, shoddy maintenance and rigid policies this might be the place for you. Our cabin had old food crumbs in the refrigerator and someone else's dirty underwear in the drawer. Makes you wonder about how often, if at all, the drawers are wiped out. The sink in the bathroom... Staff was courteous and friendly. It was peaceful....a good get away from the hustle and bustle. They have rooms (not great views) and cabins (great views). Next time we will stay in a cabin. We enjoyed using the outdoor barbecues, walks, and patio area.

We enjoyed reading your kind review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay-it is a nice getaway, especially when you just need some down time in a beautiful outdoor setting. For a couple, you might enjoy cabins 408 or 409, which have a king in the bedroom and a separate living/kitchen area, with a nice porch. Our studio cabins,... More
