Took the family on another ski trip this year and stayed in one of the cabins at High Country Lodge. We had a great time. Cabin was awesome and staff was always helpful and very friendly. It was also nice to be able to use the hot tubs after a long day on the slopes!! Brian & Denise

What a great way to spend spring break! Couldn't have asked for more. We caught the last day of on site snow tubing right before the major thaw. Awesome time, friendly staff and serene surroundings. We'll be back! Literally fun for the whole family.

Everything was wonderful. we eat, sleep and ski. The location is perfect: west side is Durango, so took the train going to Cascade Canyon; the East side--The Wolf Creek. We had so much fun! The place was so convenient, short trip to the Hot springs and restaurants and on the way to the lodge was a Chimney Rock which we...

We will stay here again. The property was fabulous. It felt so cozy. The property is well maintained and the coffee was first class. The staff was helpful and friendly. I only wish I could of stayed longer in the Hot Tub after a long drive there.

It was great to hear from you. We are so glad you had an enjoyable stay! Next time, you just stay in that hot tub as long as you want, until you soak away all the miles you drove. We hope you will come back often, in different seasons and enjoy all the wonderful adventures available in this corner of...

I like the mountain atmosphere. The friendly staff makes it a place I'd return to. Well operated! The discounts offered for wolf creek and hot springs are nice. I like the out of town seclusion and open feel of the grounds.

Clean rooms, but not inviting. Do offer a refrigerator and coffeepot in the room. The remote had some issues and the lighting is not calming. Lodge rooms face the street, so there is street noise. A hot Breakfast is included, but felt chaotic to get our food due to multiple food areas set up around the "L" shaped room. Didn't...

It sounds like one of our cozy log cabins might have been a better choice for your stay. The cabins are located against the hillside in the trees behind the lodge, where it is quieter, and very relaxing. It is difficult to accomodate food allergies simply because there are so many. Most guests will let us know at booking, and...

Great cabin, the heating situation just needs to be addressed. Guest bedroom gets way too hot. I really liked how stocked the kitchen was and we were able to cook all of our meals there. I was disappointed that we could not tube the hill because of lack of snowfall, but the hot tubs were a great amenity!

We are so glad you had a good stay. We just restocked all the kitchens with new pots and pans, and utensils in the past couple of months, to ensure our guests would have enough variety so they could cook easily. I am sorry about the tubing hill. We had tons of snow this year but in late February, we...

The owners of High Country were just wonderful. Our cabin was the perfect setting and stayed very warm at night when the temp would drop to 20 degrees outside. The hot tubs were a treat and we greatly enjoyed the sledding hill and breakfast. Coffee was excellent. We also enjoyed using some of the games and movies that were available...

It sounds like you had a great family trip this winter! We hope you will come back often in different seasons, and see all that this corner of Colorado has to offer. Picked this place right before almost booking a cabin through VRBO and very glad I did. The very good complimentary breakfast, and discount lift tickets made it a great value. Simple, clean hotel room and very conveniently located. I think it would be a great place for reunions because of the wide variety of lodging options i.e cabins and hotel...

We have stayed in the hotel rooms and cabins, both are clean and nice but the beds and pillows could stand an update. The location is perfect (easy to the slopes and to town) breakfast is great, the three outdoor hot tubs are awesome, plus the new owners are very accommodating.

You have a point about the beds and pillows-we are in the middle of updating many things, including linens, pillows, etc. We would like to wave a wand and instantly transform everything the way we would like, but being on a budget like most of our guests, we have to do things incrementally, and when weather permits. But keep coming...
