Jennifer, you have always out done yourself with these cabins. I love staying here because it is so clean and so much like home for us. You put little details that help us to feel like we are welcomed and safe. I have a hard time sleeping when traveling but NOT when we stay in your cabins. The sights are breath taking and the wild life is everywhere. We can't say enough about this place and encourage everyone to experience it for themselves. We will definitely be back. Till next time...

Property's Favorite Review
We treated our children and grandchildren to 6 days in this wonderful cabin. We were bowled over by the craftsmanship of the cabin, the decor, privacy and the cleanliness. We were very comfortable (family of 6) in a three bedroom. The fire pit got good use as we spent a few evenings enjoying s'mores. The cabins are convenient to the San Juan river where we took advantage of tubing every day. We enjoyed hiking nearby trails, including a visit to Chimney Rock. We hope to bring the other part of the family next time!

We spent 5 nights at the Cabins at Hartland Ranch while attending a wedding. We cannot say enough about the accommodations and the service we received from Jennifer. The cabins are fabulous. Every detail has been thought of from the super comfy beds to the luxurious towels to the fully stocked kitchen including coffee and a welcome bottle of wine. The cabin was super clean. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning with our coffee watching our morning visitors (a family of deer) and relaxing with a beverage in the afternoon after a day of sightseeing. Our only wish is that these cabins were closer to our home so we could stay more often. Thank you Jennifer for a wonderful experience we will not forget. Your accommodations and service will be hard to match in future travels. Guests, if you are looking for a place to stay in the Pagosa Springs area, these cabins will to disappoint. Do hot hesitate to book. Ken and Karen , Illinois

This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family getaway. The property is gorgeous. We saw deer and chipmunks off our porch. It was super clean and literally has everything you could need except for food and clothing. The towels are thick and absorbent. Even the toilet paper and facial tissue are nice, not the scratchy stuff that's in most hotels/lodging. There are plenty of dishes and cookware, foil, cooking spray, etc. I also love that there were cloth napkins instead of having to use paper towels for napkins during meals. The gas fireplaces were cozy and warm. The bedding was comfy and there were plenty of pillows (something else that a lot of places skimp on), which I appreciate because I like to sleep with 4 pillows :). It's a maybe 3 minute drive to the main road in Pagosa, but you feel like you're much farther away. Oh and the cabin even had a drawer of games (Jenga, Clue, Trouble) to play. They've thought of everything. 5+ stars. Seriously this is one of my top 5 places I've ever stayed and I've stayed in a lot of places. I highly recommend.

Wolf Creek Ski area has been on our ski bucket list for several years. The opportunity came about to visit during a powder storm and we were looking for an idyllic secluded cabin close to town. Hitchin’ Post at the Cabins at Hartland Ranch outside of Pagosa Springs was perfect and could not have been better. Beautifully and thoughtfully constructed log cabin style on the exterior and comfortable tongue and groove wood paneled interior with tasteful southwest decor. Three gas fireplaces, exterior grill, WiFi for work from home (so we could extend the stay for a powder day on Monday), fully equipped kitchen, Starbucks and Paul Newmans coffee pods, an incredible view from front and back porches and a drawerful of family games to stay away from technology. It is located up a small secluded valley from Pagosa Springs and walkable into town. 30 minute beautiful drive from Wolf Creek Ski Area. Jennifer the hostess was wonderfully helpful and made sure we had 4x4 for Wolf Creek Pass during the storm. ...and the blower powder was incredible.

My family loves traveling through any and all mountain towns. We've stayed in different condo's, cabins, VRBO's and resorts, but we quickly fell in love with these cozy cabins above all! It's now our favorite family vacation spot, we don't want to go anywhere else! There's a rugged charm with just the perfect amount of luxury, comfort, and nature! The Cabins hilltop location is nestled nicely the cutest big-little town, just follow the white picket fence off 2nd street. You will need snow chains, AWD or 4X4 to make it up the driveway in winter, it's too steep and snow/ice makes it too slippery for cars and vans! We've been back several times, since quarantine started, we know it's a clean, private, secluded, SAFE place with WIFI so we can "work remotely"! Cant wait to go back this summer, hopefully with friends staying in the adjacent cabins! We tell everyone about The Cabins!

Response from Jennifer Bowden, Owner at Cabins at Hartland Ranch
Responded Jan 24, 2021
Crystal, We are so glad you enjoyed your time here! Word of mouth brings the majority of guests to Hartland Ranch so thank you so much for telling your friends and family about us. Pagosa Springs should be on everyone's list in 2021! Our quiet, secluded location is made possible by the long hill up to the cabins. We always make sure that guests understand that AWD or 4x4 vehicles are highly recommended for safe travel during the winter months. We really do get "the most snow in Colorado" and travel can be unsafe in front or rear wheel drive vehicles without chains in inclement weather, so we appreciate you pointing that out. To make it up to Wolf Creek Ski Area, around town and to our property, a capable vehicle or snow equipment can be necessary. We eagerly await your return this summer and are so happy you found a place to work remotely (and play!) at Hartland Ranch.

Wow! Can’t say enough about this place. I’ve traveled the world and I have to say this was the cleanest (translation: spotless) lodging I’ve ever stayed in. In addition, obvious attention has been paid to all aspects of the stay. The kitchen was beyond “well appointed” with every dish and gadget imaginable. All you need to supply is the food. The guest bottle of wine was also a thoughtful and classy touch. The environment is lovely. Just a few minutes from town, but you feel far away. Quiet, quiet, quiet! Wildlife everywhere. The 5 cabins are situated such that everyone has privacy. We never knew anyone else was around. Jennifer is extremely nice, helpful and professional. We had an issue with a ceiling fan and they were on it in a heartbeat. Absolutely a fabulous spot. I’m almost reluctant to review it because I want to keep this treasure to myself! And treasure it is!!

Had the recent occasion to stay at the Cabins of Heartland Ranch. What a wonderful family owned/operated property. It is located in a beautiful mountain setting, yet within walking distance to Pagosa Springs. The cabins are beautifully appointed and well maintained. This is the perfect spot to use as springboard to visit all the sites that southwest Colorado has to offer. Highly recommended, my wife and I are looking forward to our next stay at this wonderful property.

Jennifer and her team at The Cabins at Heartland ranch pay attention to detail. This property is excellently maintained and thought is given to every detail of the stay. You can tell that this family owned business treats the property as though they were staying themselves. We loved our stay and have made it a yearly retreat. The cabin is close to town but you would never know it. Deer ate in the meadows, blue birds flew around us and the quite was so refreshing. Don’t miss this special place and special family.

Our family of four loved our stay here. The cabin was extremely clean and had everything we needed. My husband described it as “just add water”. I agree. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful. The pitches on the cabins are amazing. We can’t wait to return.
