I've never been good about writing reviews so i'll just keep this short and sweet. I stay in Ouray for 3 weeks every winter and always rent a room here. And I love it. It is exactly what I need. No more, no less. A warm bed and internet and enough room to lay out all of my gear. The... More

I arrived to a very questionable room as to cleanliness. The bedding is stained, sheets are thin and stained etc. I smelled them and they were washed, even the pillows were fresh smelling. I did look for hairs etc. just to be safer yet. My coffee package was opened and the package of coffee had been used and put back... More

This property is for sale and the owner has given up. The carpet has not been vacuumed in a long time. The bed was not made, nor trash taken out, or in any way cleaned during my 5 day stay over the July 4 weekend. No television, no radio, no service. Good location. One step up from camping.

I booked this hotel and luckily thought to call the night before I had to cancel to keep my money and was told it was double-booked. When I asked why I wasn't contacted, they said it happens, which is unacceptable given we drove 5 hours to spend our holiday weekend. What are we supposed to do? I guess we just... More

We stayed at the Columbus House last night. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! They allow pets. The carpet stains in the foyer and in our bedroom are testimony to the fact that pets have stayed and made messes on the carpet. The stains were awful. We traveled with our own dog. He found food pieces (in our... More

If you lower your expectations slightly, you will find this a unique and very clean, B&B. Breakfast is worthwhile. Aside from the fact they lost my reservation, but fortunately had a room (not the room we reserved) in a town with no vacancy anywhere, it was fine to stay here and imagine going back in time in a historically well-preserved... We were just strolling through Ouray and saw a little sign in the window ... hotel rooms available. We asked to see the rooms and were immediately charmed! We were traveling with my daughter and the owners gave us two rooms for a total of $109 -- it was a wonderful value! We shared a bathroom between us (immaculately kept).... More

We found the Columbus House by chance while walking in Ouray and trying to find a place to shelter and avoid another night of camping in the rain. The price was super affordable, and the owner, Craig, was extremely welcoming. Upstairs, we were greeted with an entrance and room that were reminiscent of a Victorian era hotel. It reminded us... Spent 2 week driving in Colorado, Utah and Nevada, and this was far the best accommodation we found on the whole trip. And the cheapest ..... Clean, charming with perfect location. Would love to go back once a year just to check it out.

this very decrete bed and breakfast was like finding a secret treasure! the rooms are above the owners restaurant where you are served a breakfast of any choice off the very generous breakfast menu! the rooms are small but very comfortable, intimate and clean! they are decorarted in an early 1900 style to match the authentic building. the owners are...
