the beaumont hotel is located on the main street on the south end of town. Our group of 4 adults stayed here in early october for a two night stay. we stayed in the presidential suit and split the cost between two couples. there is a limited area in front of the hotel where you can unload your car available for a limited time only. After check in we were given a parking pass to use in any of the spaces on the side of the hotel. I love this historic hotel , the look and feel of days gone by. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the main street and the mountains beyond. there were two separate bedrooms with a queen bed and private bath in each room on opposite sides of the room. the middle or the suit came with a mini kitchen with all you would need for any cooking ( did not use except for microwave ) and a large open oval shape living/dinning room. There was also a walk out balcony by the kitchen but unfortunately do to safety and building structure design , there is no access to it. IT was a real treat to find out about the celebrity's that stayed in this room from the past including teddy roosevelt, pam greir, oprah, and others The shower had good water pressure and i likes the soaps that were provided. (wife said the water here gave her hair some trouble) nothing big deal just annoying. We were disappointed that the spa was closed for repairs during our stay but we went to the vapor cave instead . I would bring your own food to this hotel because they do not offer a breakfast only snack bars and bananas at the check in desk. these were the only down sides to staying here. everything elce was awsome. in the off hours , the staff was able to give us a tour of the hotel and its history that if you get this opportunity, i would highly recommend it. the ballrooms are remarkable to see and the history is interesting to here about. our beds were comfortable, the staff was nice and helpful . the location was great and within walking distance to restaurants, shops, tour company's, and historic buildings. You could walk to the hot springs from the hotel but woud be a long one. I would take the car if your going there. The price to stay here is what i would expect for this type of historic hotel. not cheep , but not over priced. …
I wouldn’t stay anywhere else In Ouray after having spent 3 nights there. I love history and it’s a great historic landmark and they certainly spent millions on the renovation in 2003 and everything is just so perfect. I wish they still had the bar and restaurant open but maybe one day it will reopen. Still awesome to stay there and very comfortable and clean. GREAT place
For the price (off-season), it was worth the stay. Seasonal high occupancy seems to be early Spring, Summer holidays, and early Winter. In addition to the history of the hotel, it's very close to all that this picturesque town has to offer, including a couple of hot springs. The hotel is nicely restored and kept as close to historically accurate as regulations would allow. Hotel is close to ice climbing park, moderate to difficult hiking trails, good food, interesting little shops, other buildings of historical value, etc. The in-room amenities are a bit on the spartan side, and no in-building cafe or restaurant, including morning coffee, which was a bit of a bummer in the middle of winter, but on the bright side there's a nice local coffee place around the corner. Staff is super helpful and accomodating. …
My boyfriend chose this beautiful for our stay in Ouray. I had never been to Ouray and staying at this BEAUTIFUL restored gem was the icing on the cake. We stayed in "Sarah's Room". The room was beautiful and very clean. The staff and location were perfect and we were within walking distance of shops, restaurants, etc. The hotel itself was gorgeous and restored to perfection.
What a fantastic hotel. We stayed at the twin peaks room and it was amazing. The history, the ambiance and the architecture are unique. It is right in the middle of Ouray close to great restaurants and shops. But again the highlight is the hotel. It takes you back to Victorian times.claw foot bathtub and skylight above shower with excellent detail to customer comfort. This hotel is definitely in our future agenda
Can you believe it? We couldn't!!! We were left a phone number to call ONLY if there is an emergency. The front desk, she also let us know be sure to have your key to get back in. We were sure to be back before our curfew in the case our key wasn't working!!! The hotel is nice but this is crazy to pay for an upscale hotel and have NO SERVICE but from check in at 4pm to 9 om only??? We emailed hotel on return no response so posting this and contacting other entities in their local to inform of this. We want people to be aware of this not mentioned in the long list of things. The breakfast goodie bag is a sad granola bar and prepackaged dry muffin. A basket of oranges next to the basket to leave your key. NO SERVICE!!! All the hotels we stayed in the past 3 months had some kind of decent breakfast. This hotel was such a disappointment in my favorite town to visit. Spend your nights somewhere else!…
I'll start with the best part of the hotel - Knicole at the Front Desk! She was the only employee I encountered, but she is an absolute gem. Unfortunately, I emailed the Leavers- listed as the proprietors - to commend her, but I received no response whatsoever. I wanted to make sure she was recognized, so I'll do it here. I realize staffing is hard to come by in small mountain towns, but the with the hotel door locked and having to buzz in, it's not welcoming at all. I understand after hours, but during the day, it would be nice to be welcomed in what used to be a grand hotel. Loving historic hotels, such as the Hotel Jerome in Aspen, I was eager to try the Beaumont on my first trip to Ouray. Now, it's buyer's remorse, as I paid $360 for a room (in August); I've stayed in finer Hampton Inns for quite less. The room: I understand historic preservation, but there's a difference between historic grandeur and old, tired and creepy. The rooms would be the latter. The pillows, sheets, comforter, etc. are very low quality; I ended up sleeping on top of the sheets. There are gold-plated signs and other messages around the room, stating to do this and that - way overdone. You receive a long list of rules when you book - via email - a very poor first impression. "If you do this, you will be billed this..." and so on. Because I was traveling for work, I needed to take a Zoom meeting right at check-out time; I asked Knicole, and she said she would have to ask her boss or owner. She let me know later that I could either pay $35 for a late check-out or use a conference room for $35. She showed me the room, and it was the size of a large closet with no windows. I opted to stay in my room. The next day, I was upset, as the hotel's WiFi was so slow, Zoom didn't work - defeating the purpose of working from my room. I see the hotel is up for sale, so it's my hope that owners who cherish historic hotels - and know how to run a fine - even luxury - hotel will take the reins. From the outside, it's splendid; for now, just take pictures of the outside and don't venture in. The door would be locked anyhow. There are nice short term rentals (whole houses) in Ouray that I should have stayed in, so I would suggest this to any visitors passing through.…
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is gorgeous! It is old, so there were some creaky floors. Our room was beautiful (King Junior suite). Our only complaint was that the couch (which was an antique) was super uncomfortable. It looks great in the room but it was not pleasant to sit on.
Spent two night at the Beaumont and was a special place. Totally secure....you need your room key to even get in the lobby.. The hotel has been totally remodeled and done perfectly. Extravagant ceilings, large king size beds plus a roomy seating area.. Bath with tub and shower beautifully remodeled. Assigned parking and a small breakfast treat available at the front desk for early risers. A totally first class experience with attentive, polite staff. Once you stayed here you will want to go back to this charming town in the Colorado mountains.
We went for a family reunion. The room was magnificent. I was impressed that being a historic hotel, that our suite included a bathroom with both a tub and a shower. Hot water was always at the ready, which can often be a challenge in older properties. The temperature was well maintained, which is also something that is not always true if restored landmark properties. My husband made an error on our check out date, and the first concern in our text, because they couldn’t get a hold of us while we were on an excursion out of cellular range, was if we were alright. Luckily we were able to extended, and they were beyond gracious. The knew guests often go the Hot Springs park and provided information on towel availability at the park, which would be a lesser cost than purchasing a towel from the hotel. They provide a grab and go breakfast, which included a fruit item, small prepackaged pastry, and a granola bar- which is a great snack to take with on the perimeter trail around the city. The complete trail takes you by 3 different waterfalls and has wonderful views of the town. One bridge even has a troll under it.🤗 The Artisan bakery across the street has more substantial breakfast sandwiches, a variety of creative and standard pastry offerings, and delicious coffee creations. Next door to the bakery, the Bon Ton is one of the nicest restaurants in town for a romantic dinner. Across the street is the Elks club, which on Wednesday nights at 7 has Bingo. They welcome everyone. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase. This is a huge fundraiser for all the amazing community outreach the organization provides throughout the year, and give you a true taste of what is great about small town America. The shops along Main Street offer something for everyone. The Beaumont is the perfect place to stay for a quiet couples get away without the kids, while enjoying a national treasure!!!…
